Due to the geographic location, the peninsula of Yucatan has developed signature flavors that are unlike any other found in the Mexican Republic. La Posada will spotlight pre-columbian and mestizo dishes that combine native fruits and vegetables with spices brought to the continent by the conquest. This restaurant is a tribute to the late Felix Rosado and the cantina bears his name. Felix was a Mexican immigrant who lived in Milford, Pennsylvania and opened the original La Posada Mexican Restaurant in Dingman’s Ferry in the late 1980’s. The restaurant was not just a destination for tourists visiting the Poconos; it became a favorite to locals. Milford Hospitality Group is proud to honor Felix and carry on the legacy of La Posada; an experience many people still remember fondly.

This was the first time we went to this restaurant. The hostess was hospitable and tried to make our visit enjoyable. She opened the dining room when she saw we did not want to eat in the bar which was very noisy. She was helpful selecting our entrees and encouraged us to try something new. Unfortunately for us, we should have stuck to the recommendation from another. The skirt steak was highly recommended but we tried other items on the menu. We would stick to the skirt steak if we ever go again.

The Yucateco cuisine offered was unique and very tasty! The Mexican ballads that were played as background music were the Mexican classics, which are very sentimental or upbeat. The margaritas, served in tumblers, were very delicious! My wife had the shrimp tacos. She loved them! I had “the tour of Mexico” by trying the three different pork tacos: Magnificent! We shared the chicken in black mole and were pleasantly surprised! Authentic Mexican flavors and hospitality!

I was blown away by the fresh and unique flavors of this Mexican food being created by Chef Miguel. All the right notes were hit combining crunch, char, tangy, sweet, sour. Everything homemade. Salsa brought to the table with chips was unlike any I had ever had. Kind, fun, friendly service. Prices are really terrific for the level of the fresh and chef-rendered food being served.

Mexican food should be spicy. This is too Americanized. Next time I will request it to be made spicy. The place is nice, good ambiance, service was excellent-our server was really personable and friendly. I just expected more from the food.

Food was good but $22 for a Long Island ice tea was over the top. Specialty drinks were $14, that was acceptable. Large enough portions, the desert Flam was average , a little dry. On a whole a very nice place . Around 7pm more people were drafting in

The wait staff was lovely. Linda is a treasure. Unfortunately the tuna ceviche appetizer didn’t come out until Dinner. The pork - main course - 2 of us ordered it - was way too well done & not very edible. Too tough. My husband liked the fish tacos & our friend liked her chicken.

This is an authentic creative Mexican restaurant. If you are looking for typical Americanized Mexican food look elsewhere. My husband and I had a wonderful meal at Posados. The spices were enticing and the combinations of sauces were intriguing to the palate. We started with Cabrito Mole and Aguachile de Camerones for appetizers. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the Mole was not to sweet but full of flavor. The Camerones was a lovely summer start to a meal. Thinly sliced delicious shrimp atop crisp and cool cucumbers and jalapeños bathed in lime juice. Mmmmm! For our entrees my husband selected the fish tacos and I selected the Tour de Mexico sampler which included the fish taco, a cauliflower taco and a Suedero taco. All three were a festival of flavors. Our waitress, Linda was very attentive and overall the evening was a joy. If you go, be sure to walk across the street to the pocket park. Although it’s small the view of the Delaware River is maybe the best in Milford.

Very disappointing experience . We had an 8’0clock reservation .we arrived early and were informed they overbooked and would not be served at all for At least 45 minutes . Meanwhile plenty of empty tables . Not even at the bar for a drink so we left and came back at 8.20 . And we’re served but there was no one n the restaurant .. they need to manage their reservations better . And food came out it was not hot . Will not be going back or a while

Food was lovely and fast. Chips and dip were yummy as a starter. My only note was that our server did not tell us about any specials and there were several. We saw everyone around us eating items we definitely did not see on the menu which is a shame. Our table wasn’t cleared during each course so there drinks and apps crowding our dinner. The meal was tasty though so it was a good not great experience.

We had a wonderful meal during our first visit to La Posada. The drinks and food were wonderful. We had the aguachile con camarones and guacamole for our appetizers. My husband had the Al pastor tacos and I had a fish taco that was the special that night. Both were delicious! Will definitely be returning.

Another great evening at La Posada, our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Don't expect ground beef tacos and enchiladas, what you will find are traditional Yucatan dishes prepared with bright flavors and fresh ingredients. The service was excellent, including delicious cocktails and a flight of mezcal if that is your fancy.

Very good Mexican food, but not your typical tacos, burritos and quesadillas. Specialities from Yucatan and great flavorings, such the Chicken Mole. Good margaritas and tasty Mexican desserts. Friendly staff and fairly prompt service on a busy Saturday night. A little bit noisy when it was full, but not bad. Glad we tried it out and I would definitely go back again.

It was the first time we went to La Posada and we were totally impressed with everything. Our waitress Lisa, I hope I have her name correct, was so helpful and so professional. The food was so delicious and the restaurant is so nice. Even enjoyed taking a picture with the restaurant’s mascot…. Definitely telling our friends in Masthope, PA to check it out!!!!
