Good food , buena comida tipica puertorriqueña , buen ambiente y limpio lugar
I would recommend this place to try to a friend. The food was delicious and the place is veery tropical and I love it. But, what I didn’t love was that the food was extremely expensive for what it is. Aside from that, they would bring the food separate, for example, I ordered shrimp with rice and habichuelas, and they brought the shrimp first and I had to wait a while for them to bring the rest and I noticed that my shrimp were already cold. And overall, there was multiple items on the menu that they ran out of and we had a small option list to pick from. You’ll be the judge of it once you try it.
muy buen lugar , la comida deliciosa y el ambiente muy agradable
Waitress was super rude not sure maybe was just having a bad day however, food wasn't a big deal deal, I believe this place is over price for the type of food and quality given. This is our second time here, don't think we will be back.
My meal for two came out to $100 for appetizer was Alcapurria, main course Churrasco with salad, pasteles with rice and beans, medalla and wine. I think its away over priced for Puerto Rican food. I would only recommend for the ambiance.
It was my younger daughter's birthday and Mother's day also, she was traveling from far and wanted to eat only puertorriquen food. I made reservations for 2:15pm, arrived at 2pm was seated past 2:30pm, I was expecting at least they sang for her. Was disappointed.
parking not to organize, music was way to loud and the tv programs should have been about puertorriquen or Hispanic cultural
Over all food was good
La Placita was true taste of my beautiful island right here at home. The food was exceptional, the music was lively, the decor was totally Instagram-worthy, and the entire vibe as a whole was spot-on! Whether it’s for a special occasion, a date night, or just a night out with friends, this place is a total gem. I can’t wait to go back! As a Puerto Rican, I wholeheartedly recommend La Placita to all who wish to experience a taste of Puerto Rico.
Great mother ‘s day full with great food and service!
Portions was very small for the price. Is very expensive
Food was good. Some of the items didn't hit the mark, specifically the arroz con gandules and habichuelas. It lacked the traditional Puerto Rican Sazon flavor. The pasteles were great!
This place is to expensive to what they’re offer in food
Good place to have a great Puertorican lunch/dinner with family and/or friends.
This place was amazing starting with the food and working your way down to the service and ambiance. There’s noting not to like here it’s a must try for those of you that haven’t made it down here
I understand the concept of elevated Puertorrican food, however for me I'm not sure if the offerings I had really are that elevated. Years ago Chef Carmen Gonzalez had a restaurant in Coral Gables (fire in the hotel and the restaurant had to close) and she was able to elevate puertorrican food. Would I go back to the restaurant? I did, I gave it a second chance for dinner. I would want to try their lunch menu to see if my opinion changes.
If a friend asked me if they should go, I would say yes, give it a try, but actively promote a restaurant I'm not there yet.
This place was excellent. The food reminded me of home cook Meals in Puerto Rico! I loved the ambiance as well!
Too pricey and food wasn’t so great the morcillas were just nasty the worst 200 hundred dollars spent
Great place we love the service and the food is a little pricey but it doesn’t matter food is great. We got to meet the owner Julian Jill great person humble guy. I recommend this place to anyone if I could have 10 stars I will.
Fabulous food. Fun environment. We are definitely going back. Recommend the appetizers and main courses.
So much fun! Only complaint was the noise level. Food was excellent and service was ok point!
The food is OK. The reason I come back is the service is excellent, nice people José is excellent and take care en todo. The only five stars is the service. Th good is very expencive
The restaurant atmosphere is pleasant, our server excellent, the food HORRIBLE, the typical Puertorican Mofongo, was dry inside/out had to use the knife to cut the single piece I ate, the Pork Masitas dry and tasteless, the Mamposteao cold, the Mofongo with chichen as bad as the rest of the dishes. Mofongos are not to be made ahead of time!!!! The bill for 2 was about $91.45 with 18% added to the bill and as per menu the soft drinks are on the house, and they charged $8.00 for a coke.....plus parking is $7.00......portions are small! What a disappointment 👎👎👎👎☹☹☹☹
We love your mofongo !!! My husband missing you Natilla !!
Wayyy tooo loud! The DJ needs to lower the volume just a bit so I don’t have to scream while trying to have a conversation with my friends. It’s a restaurant not El Patio. The chicarrones were good, the mofongo was way better at Jimmy’s Kitchen and the garlic scamp Shrimp could have been better. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll ever go back. Too pricey and the quality fell short.
What a disappointment. From the music being so loud that you couldn't have a conversation without screaming, to the skimpy wine pours, to the outrageously expensive food, this place was a dud. I'm so sad because I'd hope for good mofongo and what I got was a bland, overpriced dish with three little cold shrimp on top. My other friends dishes were the same. The food also came out ridiculously fast - in about 5 minutes which likely means it was already plated and just reheated. I've lived in Miami for over 20 years and this by far was the most disappointing experience I've had with such a hyped restaurant.
Good food. And excellent service
Sugiero usen condimento natural o non-gmo.
Saludos y que sigan cosechando exitos!!!!
Ok so everyone has seen the puerto Rican flag mural on the building.
It is all over instagram so for Puerto Ricans it has become a must do -The pic is awesome !
But it is a restaurant so how is the food?
This IS A RESTAURANT !!!
It is a lux take on Puerto Rican food!
It has ALL the great flavor and comforting smells from your grandmothers table “en la Isla”
With a great new spin on presentation and service !
This is my new must do when in Miami.
Phenomenal vibe and great ambiance to just chill out over drinks and food. The food was fantastic and well conceptualized. Don't expect fully traditional as it is Puerto Rican food fused, which for me works just fine. The service was spot on all around. Will definitely be one of my go to places in South Florida.
Service was impeccable. Our server went above and beyond. The food was very good; not traditional. More the chef's creation of traditional dishes. The music was way to loud. Could not hold a conversation without yelling.
We went for my sister in laws bday. Had a fantastic time. Food and decor were both great. Will def recommend and return.
Raul, our server was exceptional and professional. He explained the menu and the best food selection for our group. The food is good, but can be better, especially for Puerto Rican food that the prices are rather high. The staff is very friendly. They make you feel you are at someone’s home.
I had a great time and I read some reviews before we go there, I was waiting for the most expensive restaurant what isn’t true. The prices were ok, not that bad. Service was great, Daiana our server was wonderful she explained everything to us! I truly recommend the restaurant!
We were super excited to try this restaurant. Having our beautiful flag painted on the outside of this building should really represent the delicious food from our island. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed - we were served small portions, it was overpriced and overall missing Puerto Rican flavor and authenticy. The waiter was nice but lacked training in many aspects. The menu does not display much variation and food presentation is not typical. As much as I adore and love my flag represented - it has no place in this restaurant. Will not recommend.
I could give cooking classes to the Chef I am from Puerto Rico and my dishes are far better .
Second visit. Appetizer of platanos with octopus was wonderful. Strip steak was fantastic. I asked for medium rare and it came out perfect. The flavor was amazing and the steak was so tender. Great red beans and rice. Service is super attentive and just right. Fun place.
Food was good, and drinks great $$. I think a little expensive for what is it. the service need to improve a lot.
if I will pay around $ 60.00 or more for a dinner I will expect a better service. we had to ask for water, cutlery.
we were a group of 8 and our food arrived separately in a time of half an hour or more.
the best of the nigh : food and drinks .
The food was extremely overpriced for very small quantities. We made a reservation and were not given an option between inside or outside. We were placed outside and were attacked by mosquitos. The music was so loud I could not hear anyone at my table speak, nor the server. The server was so irritated by repeating himself since we could not hear that he repeatedly gave attitude saying things like 'I just told you' or 'that's what I just said.' I assume this is why he took over 35 minutes to bring the check at the end of the meal. Clearly not concerned about a tip because the party of 6 or more ensures 18%. And, to top it off, the food was mediocre at best, not at all worth a trip. Save your time and money. Such a disappointment given some positive reviews that sent us here in the first place. By the way, whatever they serve as 'Mofongo' was rock hard and tasted like a block of salt.
Muy rica la comida y el ambiente también.
El servicio y la atención de los empleados fenomenal quede encantada.
This place is amazing! The food was absolutely wonderful and the service was above and beyond.
