Sad to see this wonderful restaurant close at this location. Hoping they find a new location soon! GREAT pizza and pasta with an extensive Italian wine list that any wine enthusiast would love!
Fabulous place !! Delicious food and great wine list. The service is wonderful and we enjoy going there for our special occasions.
We’ve been to this restaurant before and it was fine. But we will never go back, because it felt like there was no one actually serving us. We had to ask for silverware. And we had to ask for napkins. No one checked on us after our dinners were served, and our dinners were not very well-prepared. They were merely okay. But not having someone to speak with about our experience, and not having someone ask us about our experience, is why we will not go back. When we were there, it was not busy. Maybe it’s true that the few were the people there are in the restaurant the worst this service is. But this was an expensive mistake on our part. We were hungry. Who could blame us?
We were 4 for dinner, shared 2 pizzas which was more than enough, a couple of salads and a dessert. Good wine, some cappuccinos and all was delicious. The restaurant is not huge, but very charming, good service, and definitely warrants a return visit.
Excellent pizza and very friendly staff.
Un sitio fantástico para pasar una buena velada, la dueña un encanto, agradable, simpática y la comida muy buena. Muy recomendable
Fine dining, excellent evening. Highly recommended.
I hear they are closing to move to a new location.. Yet to be determined.. The is an outstanding authentic nepolitano pizza and Italian cuisine restaraunt with fantastic food! If it was closer to my apartment, I would eat here once a week or more!!!
Loved the pizza, but also the entree, it was worth waiting for the chef and the service was outstanding. Recommended!
The food was very good. The service was a bit inattentive, but that is because there was only 1 waitress and 1 busboy to handle everything. The value is good. The do only carry wine and beer so some of my friends didn't drink because they like a cocktail.
We looked for something local while traveling thru NYC, La Pizza Fresca was nearby and had strong reviews. We were not disappointed on any level, truly a treat my family enjoyed.
I organized a special occasion dinner and guests flew in from across the country. we had a wonderful delicious meal, the wine was excellent. we were able to hear ourselves talk. the young woman who took care of us was knowledgeable, charming and anticipated all our needs. I love this restaurant.
One of our favorite places in town.
Not too noisy. Always consistent service and food
Have been there several times. Don’t be dismissive based on the name. Extensive award-winning wine list, great food overall but the major highlight for me is the pizza, for which they have a rare Italian certification. I especially enjoy the Funghi pizza.
Like a 2 hour trip to Roma or Napoli. Great food, friendly and attentive service, overall a beautiful Friday evening in which were transported temporarily from NYC to the Bay of Naples. Our only issue was that the noise level was rather deafening during the first half hour we were there, but it subsided dramatically after one large table was cleared. The atmosphere was entirely pleasant thereafter.
Amazing wine selection!!
Good pizza, painfully slow service and we were seated in the back across from a table where supplies were stored.
Awesome as always. Food and wine great. Kid-friendly. Doesn’t get much better. Best neopolitan pizza and outstanding pastas and appetizers
My husband and 18yo daughter ate here while we were visiting NYC. Nice location near the Flatiron building. Pretty atmosphere and attentive service. I had carpaccio (beef) and a margharita pizza. My husband had the lasagna and my daughter had the gnocchi. All were good. I think that the lasagna should have been plated with a small side of vegetables. It was just a piece of lasagna on a plate. That's it. I would consider that item the weakest of what we got. I thought the wine was a little on the pricey side but it was my first night in NYC and I realized that ALL the drinks are crazy expensive.
The lasagna was just tolerable and the tiramisu was the worst I V ever eaten. It was so over priced.
Food was great. We had the fresh mozzarella along with pasta dishes and everything was amazing. Everyone loved it and staff was lovely.
There had been reviews that the restaurant was "quiet"-this was not true on the evening we were there. It was virtually impossible to hold a conversation. The service was poor as well with little attention paid to the table. Having been a waitress in the past, I cannot give the restaurant a very good review.
The food and wine is always good. Hostess are friendly and professional.
Such a quaint little restaurant with wonderful food & great service. This is our third time here, and we will continue to return every time we visit NY. They have the best pizza!
Saw this restaurant on a neighborhood walk. Decided to try it and was surprised how quiet it was on a Friday night. Wine was affordable and good. PASTA was EXCELLENT. Cute place, somehow a little dated--maybe a refresh on the print style of the menu--but a real neighborhood find. Food and service excellent!
One of my favorite restaurants with amazing food and service. Only negative is I noticed portion sizes for the pasta dishes have gotten slightly smaller :( I had two bites and was halfway done.
I challenge you to find a better brick oven pizza in the city.
Important note: Pizza chef does not come in until 7pm on Sundays
We had a lovely dinner Wednesday night sitting by the open doors and on the sidewalk. Food and wine were both very good, as was the service.
My husband and I love this neighborhood gem. We eat here at least once a week. Pastas and pizza are great and we love the fact that we can have a quiet conversation.
Place was empty. I wondered what was wrong with it
Wonderful pizza- their neopolitan crust truly is the perfect crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. Our apps were also fabulous- the beef carpaccio and the buffalo mozzarella with the prosciutto. The pasta dish was fine but nothing out of the ordinary.
Nearby noisy customers can hamper a good dining experience, not unusual at many popular Manhattan restaurants. Regrettably this evening was no exception.
We stopped in for a relaxed meal after playing strenuous table tennis. Had two rustic pizzas that were both great. Especially the Puttanesca. But the wine list was fantastic. Had a couple of Sicilian Etna reds that were perfect with the pizza.
The portions are not so big but the dishes are delicious
Having eaten here many times, I am always amazed how good the food is. This is not a huge, ambitious, menu. The menu is just right to have something for everyone, and every thing on it is done very well. The pasta is perfect every time. Try the lasagna, the veal meatballs with rigatoni, or the short ribs in a in a wine sauce over. The pizza is traditional Neapolitan, not the stuff that passes for pizza in many other cities, and always outstanding. We frequently have it for an appetizer. end your meal with the Vin Santo. The wine list is one of the best Italian lists in the city, if not the best, and there are affordable items on it. The staff is helpful, friendly, and always doesn't rush you. This is restaurant you can return to multiple times.
I love this restaurant. When I am there, I feel like I am in Italy. Food, wine, ambiance are delightful.
We went there for a birthday dinner, specifically for the pizza. When we got there, they sat us and then told us the pizza maker had not shown up. So no pizza! Kind of ridiculous considering the name of the restaurant. However, the pasta was excellent and our service impeccable. Eventually the pizza guy showed up so we had a pizza for dessert
Best pizza I have ever had. A must for dining when in NYC.
Reliably tasty, authentic pizzas and other Italian dishes in non-scene, relaxed setting. Surprising find in this unassuming location; the wine list is extensive and pizzas could not be fresher or tastier with high-quality ingredients, straight out of the wood-burning oven. Gives more celebrated places a run for their money.
Very good pizza and pasta. Nice place.
Visa or mastercard with pincode did'nt work :-(
