La Pizza & La Pasta - Eataly Toronto

Great meal - I would just recommend to allow customers to pick their cheeses and cold cuts when ordering the big antipasto plate. Prosciutto cotto and mortadella are very economic cold cuts and I would have expected something a bit more high quality on that matter.

The food was delicious. One person ordered pizza, the other pasta. We were told the food arrival could differ, coming from different kitchens. OK, a few minutes we understand.
My husband ate his pizza alone while I sat and waited over 10 min for my pasta to arrive.
This is unacceptable and we may not return for this reason.
Surely you can adjust submitting the pizza order 5-6 minutes after the pasta so that they come relatively together -

Noisy, overpriced and too hyped. There are so many better alternatives for excellent food and a dining experience in Toronto.

There was another restaurant near the elevator which confused me and my guest. We thought it was the same restaurant. We were quickly seated and order was promptly noted. We didn’t wait too long for the food. Portion was ok. We shared a salad and pasta dish. I think it would be small for a big eater. Will probably order the pizza next time!

This was my first visit to Eataly and I’ve been looking forward to going since it opened. I want to point out that I am not a food connoisseur - quite honestly, it’s pretty easy to impress me, especially when it comes to Italian food which I think this is why doing this review is so important. It’s also really important to note that our waiter was fantastic. Ambience/space was lovely too. The food - meh. We came for the lunch special. I got rice balls to start which honestly, were pretty bland. My mom got the fried eggplant and was both of our favourite thing. She ordered the tagliatelle bolognese and I ordered the prosciutto stuffed ravioli. We also ordered two pineapple mules. Those were tasty. When the ravioli was put down in front of me, I was expecting a better presentation. They looked like they were thrown onto the plate drenched in melted butter and drizzled with balsamic, but like, not in an appetizing way. My mom’s tagliatelle was a bit watery and the meat was a tad chewy which was weird. I preferred hers to mine and vice versa so we switched. About halfway through the meal she found a hair in the ravioli. She told our waiter who apologized profusely and took it away, offering a new one (my mom at this point was feeling a bit gag-gy and declined. He took her whole meal off the bill - again, nice. Overall, I’m not feeling so hot about the whole experience. I’d probably go back and try dinner just because I so badly want to love it, but this visit left me with an unpleasant feeling.

I highly recommend making a reservation, as we avoided a wait by doing so! Happy to see this restaurant was still buzzing on a Monday lunch in March. LOVED the value of the 'Quick Italian Lunch' for $19/person. Our server Alexandra was great too! We will be back again!

This is the second time I’ve been to Eataly and ate at La Pizza & La Pasta. Both times it did not disappoint. The pasta and pizza is so fresh and reminds me of our honeymoon trip to Italy. The drinks are delicious too. The only slight complaint would be that it is a very busy spot so service is a little slow but that didn’t bother us as we were there just to enjoy and relax as a date night.

Service was horrible. Never checked us on. Took a long time to complete simple request like extra napkins.

Just not set up well - very confusing and everyone on top of each other

This was our first time at Eataly & La Pizza La pasta. Both first impressions were memorable. From the city view, to the energy of happy people eating pasta , to the food itself, AMAZING. We are eagerly anticipating our next visit. If you Love Pasta don’t deprive yourself of Eataly.

Each dish we ordered was bland to utterly tasteless.
The raviolis were cold and undercooked. The sauce had no flavour.
The cheese topping on the pizza had become tough from reheating.

The dining area and ambience are great here. Unfortunately, the food was lacklustre (the fish I had looked and tasted like cat food was mixed in instead of short rib) and the service was quite slow. Seems like they have big sections so must be hard for the staff to service everyone.

At issue was the noise level - initially - the noise level was perfect but as the restaurant filled up - this increased tremendously

We ordered appetizers and a pasta dish as a main course. Normally you would have your appetizers first but everything was plunked down at our table at once.
Needless to say the Pasta was cold by the time we started on that. Someone should look at the Calamari fritti. For $18 you get mostly breading. It was the most disgusting dish I have ever seen.
I had to ask for Parmesan cheese for my pasta. In a pasta restaurant no less. And then I received about 1/8 oz of very finely grated cheese. The waiter took so long to manage the grater, I didn't have the heart to ask for more.

Lentil dish was good but found portion to be small and I'm not a big eater. Disappointed that I had to leave and go elsewhere to get a cappuccino after my meal.

They run out of veg ravioli and also the mock tail ginger drink
Everything had a tomato base !
People who have a tomato allergy had ONLY classic option.
There should be more options available in other sauces .. such as cream or pesto.. and also different vegetables.

Came here at 5:00pm on a Sunday and it wasn’t too busy. The pizza came out very quickly and it was delicious. For sure it was the best part of the meal. The pasta took a while because we ordered the dry pasta, but it was very good. The portions for the pasta was pretty small, so I don’t think I’d order that again. The waiting staff seemed rather disorganized and they kept getting dishes delivered to the wrong tables. They were very friendly though and were extremely happy to explain the menu. Overall, it was a great experience and would come back for the pizza!

i ordered seafood pasta. it was salty. noodle tasted like undercooked. only seafood was good in that dish.

First time and service was slow, food was ok, then although I made it clear we were not ready for our bills, they were given to us, forcing us to leave within an hour of being seated for 8 people. Very disappointing and I have the potential to bring large groups once a month. What was nice was allowing folks to taste their wine before pouring the glass, although the bottles were already open and partially full.

I was really disappointed with the food and the service!!! It really turned out to be a hyped up Marche. At least at Marche you don't have the expectation of service.

Excellent food and ingredients. Lively place but very noisy, and tables very close together.

The food was great - what we expected at Eataly. The service started off well but by the time I got my pizza, my friends were finished their entrees. Although the manager compensated us for the delay after we complained directly to him, our server hadn’t even noticed that I hadn’t received my order or checked to see how our meal was. In this respect, it doesn’t measure up to the efficiency and service of the other Eataly locations I have been to.

Fascinated watching chefs prepare fabulous dishes with precision, skill and teamwork, definitely will be back for more!

I think getting the lunch special was a bad choice. If I had of ordered off the regular menu I might have been happier. I will go back at some point.

My table mates found it was too much carbohydrates. A few of the guests had been to Italy, so they compared the food to their experiences to Italy.
I had suggested the restaurant as I knew my guests liked Italian food.

Service was good but no wow factor on the red sauce meat linguini.

Arrived at 11am on a weekday for early lunch for four. It was very pleasant because it was quiet and calm in the restaurant (and Eataly in general). The Quick Italian Lunch special was a great deal and provided plenty of food for all of us. Food and service was good, however nothing particularly special. Worth a visit, but I wouldn't wait hours in line for this.

Tasty food and undoubtedly good selection of drinks from Eataly. Service was available but inattentive - we've had much better service before on an even busier night. Overall quite good, but not great.

Enjoyed our corner table where my friend and I were able to chat over delicious pizza. The noise level was moderately high due to a table of 4 next to us. Good to see the place hopping!
