Service felt very impersonal and rushed, but food was excellent. I definitely prefer Manzo in terms of ambiance, noise level, and service though.
Amazing! We would recommend to anyone. Can’t wait to return
This was a really great place for dinner. We met some friends here and it was a good atmosphere, the food was amazing! Pasta portions a little smaller than expected but overall a really great place.
Thank you so so much for a memorable night! Our friends went back the following day. They loved it!
We had a great dinner. We sat upstairs which wasn’t the same ambiance as downstairs but still good food and service.
Homemade pasta is amazing - and worth the long wait, crowds, etc, but that is really the only reason to go!
Eataly is great and a super cool experience. La Pizza & La Pasta is definitely a more casual restaurant within Eataly and the menu is a great value, especially for NYC. The burrata and pappardelle was amazing. Cool atmosphere, but can get very crowded and noisy.
The meal was perfect in every way. I would highly recommend getting a reservation as it is always busy.
It was impossible to contact the restaurant to make a reservation for 10. I called and kept getting an answering machine. So, I Made several reservations to accommodate our party of 10. When we arrived I explained the issue. I asked that if at all possible could we sit close to each other. The manager wasn’t very cooperative . The hostess was very accommodating and was able to seat us in the same vicinity as each other. The servers were wonderful and the food was excellent!
Salad was great... Best pizza ever... chewy with a slight crunch on the crust. Sauce was amazing and tasted so fresh. Service was quick and attentive. Grabbed dessert on the way out. Such a cute place!
Hostes was irresponsible. I had 7pm reservations and checked in with her at 6:35pm and started to wait. The when I noticed people who came before started sitting, I asked other hostess what was happening with my sitting situation. Well she says to me that I never checked in and gave me an attitude instead of being apologetic for the mistake even though I told her that I had checked in with her associate. Other than that, everything was nice, food and service.
I’ve had both pizza and pasta and highly recommend both!! But don’t skip the appetizers, they are phenomenal as well. This is a very busy restaurant so try to make reservations if you’re on a tight schedule. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Went for 11:45am lunch - not shown the 2-course $19 lunch as advertised on website - requested it - waiter said knew nothing about it but would ask - returned with the special Lunch menu. Good value if you like the food - husband ordered cauliflower which was tasteless/nothing special also the lasagna which was layers of dry pasta, very little meat sauce. I had better luck - tasty salad + lemon flavored pasta, enjoyed both. By time we left the whole place was crazy busy and noisy.
Food was good, not great. OK. Overpriced.
Good food and atmosphere. A bit over priced, as to be expected. Fun place though.
We went on the night of the 17th of November and were forced to wait another 45 minutes for our table after having a reservation at 7:30pm. Food was average at best, sauces too sweet and overall under-seasoned.
felt bad for the doorstaff having to handle all the complaints about wait times, I thought they were resilient and handled it well.
It wasn’t their fault, there is clearly a foundational systemic problem here that is leading to this, as we were told by one of the staff that there wait times were a very frequent occurence.
We got the $18 prix fixe menu. Food- The salad was very small and not very good. The pasta was very good but it was a pretty small portion. The wine was inexpensive and very good.
Ambiance- We were seated upstairs and the lighting and decor was very weird, felt like you were in a hospital.
If you're going to Eataly, try a different restaurant.
Went for lunch during restaurant fest. Food and drinks were great! Took about 30 mins for our food to arrive, not bad considering how busy the place was! Server was great. Would definitely return
Food is very good..Had the sausage pizza and pasta with Bolognese sauce..Pasta dish could have been bigger after all pasta is cheap! All in all a good experience!!
We were in NYC to celebrate my daughters 16th bday and had a delicious meal at La Pizza my only complaint is that we felt very rushed. We were given menus and asked for drink orders right after we took our coats off. Our food came fairly quickly (although our mains came about 10min apart b/c pizza and pasta come out of different kitchens?) but I had to track someone down to ask for fresh ground pepper and grated parmesan. Shortly after we finished, we decided we were too full for dessert and then the bill came. The whole meal, including my wine, appi and our mains was under an hour. I get that the restaurant is busy and we're not the target demographic but it wasn't the celebratory meal I'd hoped for. The food was amazing so we'll still try La Pizza & La Pasta at our newly opened Eataly Toronto and hope for a more relaxed dining experience.
Honestly one of the most delicious pasta places in NYC. The Restaurant Fest menu was so good and so well priced. I almost want to make two reservations next time! Never disappoints.
The food was bland with no real flavor. It was missing the wow factor. Also, the waiter messed up my bill. I didn't have a good experience.
We were lucky enough to hit a time where they had a limited price fix menu. Food was excellent. My only complaint was my friend received and finished her pasta dish, before I received my pizza. Both were excellent. The bread and olive oil can be addicting.
Good value high energy restaurant although felt somewhat rushed. Beware they won't seat you until your whole party is there and then will make you wait after that too when they get table ready. This is not unique to them but if going to make us wait until entire party is at restaurant shouldn't then have to wait some more when you check in again for your reservation.
Everything we tried was phenomenal! Great quality ingredients make their food a step above.
The food is AMAZING. And the prix fixe is great- you really get a great deal. However, they try and rush you out of there. I understand that there is a Saturday lunch rush but I had half a bottle of wine left and my food on my plate- do not rush me out of the restaurant.
Lovely meal. Great wine. Nice surroundings.
Server could have been less frenetic. Seemed rushed and was a bit impatient.
Restaurant week is a great deal but its super crowded.
We enjoyed the experience thoroughly. My husband and I sat downstairs and the table with our daughter and 5 of her friends was upstairs. We were celebrating her 18th birthday. Everyone loved their meal. It was reasonably priced. Will definitely be going back.
We were seat upstairs and the heat was blasting. They could not turn off but there were No fans. Horrible service- had to get up and get our own water and pour it. Had to ask for the waiter to come over multiple times to take our drink and food order.
Fun atmosphere for a family dinner before a show. The pizza and calzones were great for the kids. Their fresh pasta hit the spot and a nice wine list.
Always great food and experience! Will definitely return.
Guests visiting and we wanted to give them the Eataly experience!
The food was delicious, the service excellent but this is not the place to dine for an intimate dining experience. The $18 two course dinner was great and being with 2 friends we were able to taste all of the appetizers and 3 of the 4 main course selections. $25 wine bottles great deal too! Highly recommend
This is one of 6 restaurants within the Eataly space and it focuses on pasta dishes. We took advantage of a tremendous prix fixe offering which provided 2 dishes (appetizer and pasta course) for $18 per person and we bought a very respectable bottle of wine for $25! That's a deal in NYC!! The space was certainly "energetic" with lots of ambient noise from the open kitchen and tightly packed tables but it was also enjoyable within the context of our visit. The food was served very quickly and was very good quality. I'd recommend this restaurant for those who want excellent pasta at a reasonable price in midtown. Oh - our server was very proficient, efficient and personable!
I was a great time with splendid wine and a fantastic pasta with beef sold for stew and Margherita pizza, great Plaza and a real Italian flavor, as that pasta was an autumn dish from italy
Great location, lovely staff and delicious food. Close to where we are staying during our visit, have returned twice
Very busy restaurant. Hard to hear
