                                                            Staff seem distracted and not motivated to be there. They forgot about us while we waited over 30 mins for them to clean a table. Food is delicious and made up for that

                                                            Very good Italian food in an informal casual mall restaurant setting. The menu has a variety of pizza and pasta options as well as a set of Roma options. I had the Taste of Roma prix fixe menu, starting with bruschetta with ricotta, asparagus, etc. and then bucatini cacio e pepe. Both items were excellent, and my server was very attentive. Overall a great option for good food in a casual setting.

                                                            The window seats were phenomenal, with freedom tower and the WTC memorial in the backdrop. The fried artichoke app was delicious, as well as the lasagna and chicken Melanes! The only thing that made it better was the pretty brunette in a striking red dress that joined me for dinner that evening. A little on the pricey side, but worth the visit.

                                                            The meal was delicious! High quality ingredients prepared with care. Might have been the best spaghetti pomodoro that I’ve ever eaten and the focaccia was a great accompaniment. Can’t wait to return.

                                                            While much of the food is very, very good, Eataly needs a refresh that raises the level of service. The staff looks worn out. They are visibly dispirited and demonstrate minimal initiative and engagement. The receptionists at the counter were having a nice time giggling and teasing each other, but were not so interested in making eye contact. The bar staff could nod as we passed by, but their facial expressions didn't change. Then, we had the following exchange with our waiter: My father: "Can you add one meatball to my pasta for an additional charge?" Server: "No, we have no meatballs." Me: "I see Roman fried meatballs over here. Can one be added to the pasta?" Server: "No, that is a different entrée." It's possible that my father's notion of adding a meatball to Roman pasta offends the server (it's inauthentic). Given the flat monotone with which this exchange was shared, it is more likely, that the server feels that the meatball is "another damn thing to deal with" and is simply beyond caring. There were four meatballs in the Roman entree; it seems a little thing to divide the price of the entree by four, and add a meatball to the dish. The server's flatness conveyed it all; don't bother to ask, don't bother with reason. True, the food comes out hot. The server can bring glasses of wine when asked, but it is all done by a staff that seems to be actively disassociating on their feet. Perhaps we invited this kind of disregard, but I think not, given what I saw elsewhere. Given that this level of discouragement seems to be widespread, it is clear that the floor needs a management refresh. Hands-on, on-the-ground, energized, and engaged managers would help bring this place back to life. So much of what is served here is brilliant, but it is a shame that there is a self-evident disconnect between the passion of the people designing the plates and the people working in service.

                                                            Beautiful spot in Eataly in the Financial District. Views overlooking 9/11 Memorial. Great service. Food was hit or miss. Meatballs were very dry and tiny for the price. Yummy pastas but smaller portions for the price. Salads were a hit. Expensive but alas it is nyc. Would recommend for the ambiance. In the back of Eataly past the restrooms, kinda hard to find. Oh and the elevator/escalator was not working when we went unless I missed a different option.
