La Pizza & La Pasta - Eataly L.A.
Enjoyed eating outside on the balcony overlooking SM Blvd. All our dishes were very good. Will return. Afterwards, browsed and shopped at the Eataly market.
This place has short on staff, there is no customer service at the mini restaurant. Not sure to recommend it, not all business is just alcohol.
Anastasio did a great job of recommending a nice wine paring for my meal. He was attentive and treated us like guests. I had a reservation booked for 5:30 and arrive right on time, however there was a line of about 3 groups in front of us, which made us late. I did not see a place to check in if I had reservations so it appeared to the hosts that were late but were actually there right on time. Not a big deal though.
Thank you, we enjoyed it very much!
Great service, great fresh food and welcoming ambiance.
Maybe I was expecting too much. People had said it was great. The ambiance is great, it’s like a “cool” super market. The restaurant is pretty pricey and the food is not that good. Portions small and not very authentic. We were a party of six and tip was included in our bill. After we ate they asked if we wanted the bill and we hadn’t even been done eating. I was not impressed. I may return to the market, coffee shot and gelateria, but not to the restaurant.
They changed my favorite dish. Doesn’t even compare to the old dish.
We love Eataly and decided to celebrate a special occasion there. The food is always good, and this was no exception. The prices are always high for the portion sizes, but we knew that going in.
While our food was on par with our expectations, the service was far below. Not only was it slow, but it was just downright inattentive. We asked our waitress a question regarding an allergy, she came back ten minutes later but forgot to get the question answered. When we wanted to order more food, we waited 15 mins then asked a busboy if he could find our server. 15 mins later he came back and I reminded him. “Oh she’s busy but she will be back” he said. I could see her through the window just chatting with the bartender and wiping glasses. Cool.
We also ordered an appetizer at the beginning of our meal which never came. When we reminded her an hour later, she said “oh I’ll go check.” It came out 10 mins later without explanation or apology for forgetting.
We got our bill which included an 18% gratuity. I spoke with a manager who removed the calamari and gratuity from our check which I really appreciated. But we still tipped her 15% because I was feeling kind.
We got two pasta leftovers boxed up and she handed the bags back to us. When we each got home to our respective homes, we realized she gave us the wrong food. So I have some random persons leftovers in my trash now. Wishing we hadn’t tipped at all now.
But the pasta and pizza are delicious. Just pause before thinking each $20-$25 dish will get you a fine dining experience.
Our waitress Sabina was AWESOME!!! She was very tentative and knowledgeable about the menu. LOVE HER!! I highly recommend her if you go there!
The services was really slow, they said computers were down. The food was amazing.
The meal was wonderful!!
We were late but couldn’t get a call thru to let them know. They seated us anyway.
The food was SO good!
The food was delicious, but our server was so aloof. The food runners were a lot more friendly. We had a 3 year old with us for lunch and wanted to know if a certain pizza was the closest to pepperoni, and she said yes it is, but failed to mention that the salami was way spicier than pepperoni. She also didn’t come back to check on us after she took our order and we had to tell someone else to get our check for us.
The food did not have seasoning and was bland, definitely not worth the price paid, especially when there are restaurants around LA that have far superior pasta and at a lower price point.
The lasagne was some thing cooked in a factory, rather then the restaurant.
This place is very exceptional. Great price, awesome service, perfect ambience. For the area this is a gem!
Set on balcony. The weather was perfect. the pizzas where outstanding . the service was top notch.
Service was bad. Our server didn’t really care. It must be slow Wednesday night where they (4-5 servers) prefer to talk within themselves instead of doing their jobs. We’re very disappointed. We would NOT recommend it to anyone.
Mozzarella wasn’t fresh and tasty. Pizza was quite “gummy”. This is not “eataly” standard.
Rarely came to refill water and filled glass only half way.
Pizza was just ok and pasta needed more sauce.
We have never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. The waitress we had was extremely rude from the moment she came to our table. Bottom line we had two other waiters come in and help out because she was pretty much useless. We were a party of 5 and I was the only one that never received my food. I told the waitress that she forgot to add my food and I never received anything. She said okay and walked away. Not I'm sorry not anything. She then sent another waitress to hand us the bill. Who said we were done???? Absolutely awful. Thankfully the other waiters and manager stepped in and apologized. The manager then gave us a discount on the bill and continued to apologize. We paid our bill and I went and handed a cash tip to one the waiters that was extremely helpful. I wanted to make sure that she didn't get a penny of that tip.
Thankfully we ordered appetizers and what I tasted of it was absolutely amazing. Everyone at the table loved their food. It's unfortunate that one person was able to ruin what was suppose to be a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
Eataly is my absolutely favorite place to be. Been 3 times, and amazing each time. A very impressive place to show out of towners.
The lasagne may have been the best I've ever had. The bechamel layer was heavenly. Our server, Matt, was very on top of things. Good bread. Great burrata! Overall, a great dining experience for a Sunday afternoon.
Delicious food and great service! The waitress we had was very attentive and pleasant. I also love their pasta - the 3 of us at my table got 3 different pastas and they were all excellent. I definitely recommend this place, and love the cacio e pepe & lasagna!
This just isn't up to the Eataly hype. Ordered Pasta Calamarata sugo di mare; menu states shrimp, calamari, clams, mussels $24. Maybe 3 or 4 oz pasta, and only seafood detectable was a small piece of calamari.
Arugula salad described as arugula, trumpet mushrooms, parma-reg dop. Mostly arugula, 3 shaved ribbons of mushroom, no detectable cheese.
Wine (sav blanc) beer (hefaviessen) were fine.
Better Italian at Toscanova, Mozzarella Bar or CPK at Century City Mall.
The waiters are pulled thin. Clearly this place is a money maker. It would be nice if they didn’t run their staff ragged.
Good quality food, service was perfect, waiting time less than 5 minutes
The staff were helpful and pleasant. Julia the hostess was bubbly and sweet. The servers Isaac and Kirstie very attentive and nice too.
The pasta noodles were exceptional but the sauce was disappointing.
amazing food and service! cant wait to go back again and spend a whole day there at Eataly
Delicious and all around great experience!
Took my mom to lunch here. It was her first time trying it. Everything was delicious and the service was great! No complaints!
The place has a lot of potential but unfortunately the service sucks... they need to hire better people. Food good service bad.. you decide
The other restaurants in Eataly might be nicer, but this one was forgettable.
My friend and I have been to this restaurant 3 times now and each time love whatever we had ordered. In fact, on my last visit, I ordered the ragu of beef with pasta and I told her it was so good that I wanted to have it again for dinner. So I went into the market area and found the ragu and freshly made fettuccini pasta and did exactly that. My husband and niece also LOVED it for dinner! Great restaurant and I'm so glad it's right there in the mall and easily available.
The restaurant has changed. It used to be one of our family favorites but they've reduced the portion sizes and the food was not as flavorful on this last visit. It is still good but it's not at quite the same level as it was. And the value has definitely gone down since you have to order more appetizers, etc.
I would have liked more of a selection of food there are other food places in the same location that had dishes that I would have liked to add but they wouldn’t let me.
We were so disappointed in our food after all the hype we'd heard on how good the restaurants in Eatily are. The service was terrible (we had to ask our servers to help us on multiple occasions) and the food was bland. You are better off ordering from the food counters within Eatily itself.
I loved the dinner tonight. Chef Avner of Cento is amazing!! Came just for him
CAME HERE FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY OF CENTO PASTA BAR. I HAVE BEEN TO CENTO IN DOWNTOWN LA FOR LUNCH AND IT WAS AMAZING. I WASN'T AS WOWED THIS TIME, PERHAPS BECAUSE OF THE LARGER SCALE IN WHICH FOOD HAD TO BE PREPARED? BUT STILL GOOD. THE PIZZA WAS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE THING.. AND I HAD HOPED FOR A PROTEIN OPTION, IE SEAFOOD, OR PORK, SOME KIND OF MEAT ON THE MENU.
STILL A GREAT EXPERIENCE, DELICIOUS AND FUN!
Food is great but there should be way to get a coffee served after your meal instead of walking to a different area. Makes no sense, certainly not for an Italian restaurant.
It was an amazing experience and we will definitely be coming back!
It was so lovely!
