La Pizza & La Pasta - Eataly L.A.
Food came out way too fast - felt rushed
Honestly, the pizzas were smakin. Also low key, it was the 2nd half of a bang-bang, and it was still poppin. In case you don’t already know what’s good, that means we tore up 2meals back to back like Glover and Willis on the cover of Lethal Weapon. As you might imagine, our appetite for the 2nd meal wasn’t as serious as it was for our 1st, but that’s why I know beyond a shadow of doubt that those pizzas were fu**kin FLAME, cause I wasn’t even hungry and those pizzas were still outrageously delicious, like for real the flavor and texture was out of pocket. Strong work Eataly, imma slide through again soon. Xoxoxo
The food was really good, we went for the 2-courses for $18. I didn't expect the service to be so terrible. The waiters didn't seem to know what they were doing at all and would just kind of throw our food down on the table. It messed up the plating. They also didn't clear the plates from our first course when the main arrived and when I asked the waiter if he could take the empty plates, he seemed really surprised and didn't say anything.
Overall, the food was good but it was really disheartening service.
We had the burrata cheese appetizer, the marguerita pizza and the pasta with eggplant which were all tasty.
My husband and cousin-in-law went for the Eataly Restaurant Fest. We already booked our reservation a week ago, which I’m so glad we did. Food was $18 for a 2-course meal from their prixe fixe menu and a wine bottle is just $25. We had one of everything from their antipasti menu (3 items) and for the main, we got a fettucine funghi and a pizza. The pasta was a bit bland for me but the antipasti were good. Ambiance has a chill, relaxing Italian vibe to it.
The food was good, however, small portion on the Ravioli so my husband was still hungry. The restaurant was loud. The waitress barely looked us in the eye. When she talked to us she was looking around the restaurant. We came to try the restaurant specials for restaurant fest. We were a little disturbed to realize their $25 bottle of wine special on the menu only cost $13.90 in the retail area. The food was good so we may go again on a less busy tune so we can hear each other talk during our meal.
The food was fantastic as always! I have never had a bad meal here. However, this past visit we sat next to a table who had a man who was clearly under the influence and was yelling and would have outbursts using very foul language (appropriate for more of a sports bar atmosphere). His yelling was so loud, my friend and I could not have a conversation, and you could tell other surrounding tables were very annoyed as well. It was so bad, I’m very surprised the staff did not say anything. I’m all about having a good time, but this was not the place for this kind of behavior. I’ve been to Eataly many times, but this quite honestly ruined the entire experience there, not even the food could make up for it.
The food was bland and the service was very poor. No one would come to our table, we couldn’t get water and the manager was very rude and unapologetic.
If this were a neighborhood restaurant where one could drop in for pasta/pizza, then this would be a decent destination. How about shopping at Century City and deciding to have a bite? OK for that, too. Problem: One needs reservations on weekends, so no one drops in. Is it worth making a special trip? Definitely NOT! The pastas are above average, but we are now so spoiled in L.A. that fresh pastas are easy to find. Pizza - same thing. The salads here are a big rip-off. So small for the price. Wine by the glass - skimpy. Tables/chairs - they want you to eat and run. Too bad. Terra is great as is the seafood restaurant, but this place has to change its identity.
Excellent food, friendly service, casual environment. Great gluten free crust!
The food is always tasty.
My only criticism; we asked for some balsamic vinegar for our bread and Caprese salad, and were given a tiny dish that held about a tablespoon of vinegar. It was a bit chintzy. I don't like to keep having to ask for more.
Very competent check in people. Food was average at best
The prix fixe menu for November was excellent. Had the caprese salad to start and the fettuccine pasta with mushroom, both excellent.
Service with an attitude is their motto! No substitutions or exceptions. No flexibility whatsoever. Overrated and not worth it
My 15 year old daughter selected Eataly for her birthday celebration with her 6 best friends from her high school. They had a lovely lunch- enjoying the appetizers of burrata cheese, fried calamari & pizza and then sharing a few pasta dishes, all of which were big hits.
The pasta, that was the special with truffle didn’t had any flavor and was dry.
Pizza was ok.
The quantity and quality was not worth the price. I ate at an Eataly in Boston, MA and the food was incredible but not here. My husband and I were here for over an hour and our 6 oz. glasses of water were only refilled once, very disappointing service. We will not be returning to this place.
Our table was ready for us and the service was very good! After traveling in Italy many times, the food was good but not up to Italian standards. Probably the tomatoes that are needed to make the sauces are not as good as you find in Italy.
We had a great time and a great experience. The food was excellent, very tasty, well prepared and in good time. Decent selection of wines. Able to get a good time and conversation with my friends. No dessert or coffee in the restaurant, but plenty of choices in the market area.
Busboys were very energetic but our server seemed disengaged. Food arrived in reasonable time and was still pretty good. Relatively small serving sizes.
The food is definitely not worth the price.
My daughter’s b’day! Food was amazing!
Service was great however the good was not worth the price in my opinion. A little bland and nothing too exciting. However, the store within the building had so many great food items to purchase which was a new experience for me but if you go for the food specifically it’s not too impressive. The gelato was really good though as well as the coffee they had.
Chef Zach made some beautiful pizzas... love the guest chef plan
La Morra has the best pizza in LA
Don’t miss them at any event they are at.
Great food ... waitress didn’t care for us . Food cane out quick
They have a great lunch special. The service was a little slow but that was due to a kitchen error and not the waiter.
Fantastic dining experience. Food and service was outstanding. Really phenomenal experience at Eataly and La Pizza La Pasta. Looking forward to the next time
Enjoyed eating outside on the balcony overlooking SM Blvd. All our dishes were very good. Will return. Afterwards, browsed and shopped at the Eataly market.
What a great place! The food is so authentic and the atmosphere is super chic. There's so many things besides the restaurant to try out before or after dinner including a bakery, coffee bar, raw bar, deli, food shopping, etc. Definitely recommend Eataly!
This place has short on staff, there is no customer service at the mini restaurant. Not sure to recommend it, not all business is just alcohol.
Anastasio did a great job of recommending a nice wine paring for my meal. He was attentive and treated us like guests. I had a reservation booked for 5:30 and arrive right on time, however there was a line of about 3 groups in front of us, which made us late. I did not see a place to check in if I had reservations so it appeared to the hosts that were late but were actually there right on time. Not a big deal though.
Thank you, we enjoyed it very much!
Great service, great fresh food and welcoming ambiance.
Maybe I was expecting too much. People had said it was great. The ambiance is great, it’s like a “cool” super market. The restaurant is pretty pricey and the food is not that good. Portions small and not very authentic. We were a party of six and tip was included in our bill. After we ate they asked if we wanted the bill and we hadn’t even been done eating. I was not impressed. I may return to the market, coffee shot and gelateria, but not to the restaurant.
They changed my favorite dish. Doesn’t even compare to the old dish.
We love Eataly and decided to celebrate a special occasion there. The food is always good, and this was no exception. The prices are always high for the portion sizes, but we knew that going in.
While our food was on par with our expectations, the service was far below. Not only was it slow, but it was just downright inattentive. We asked our waitress a question regarding an allergy, she came back ten minutes later but forgot to get the question answered. When we wanted to order more food, we waited 15 mins then asked a busboy if he could find our server. 15 mins later he came back and I reminded him. “Oh she’s busy but she will be back” he said. I could see her through the window just chatting with the bartender and wiping glasses. Cool.
We also ordered an appetizer at the beginning of our meal which never came. When we reminded her an hour later, she said “oh I’ll go check.” It came out 10 mins later without explanation or apology for forgetting.
We got our bill which included an 18% gratuity. I spoke with a manager who removed the calamari and gratuity from our check which I really appreciated. But we still tipped her 15% because I was feeling kind.
We got two pasta leftovers boxed up and she handed the bags back to us. When we each got home to our respective homes, we realized she gave us the wrong food. So I have some random persons leftovers in my trash now. Wishing we hadn’t tipped at all now.
But the pasta and pizza are delicious. Just pause before thinking each $20-$25 dish will get you a fine dining experience.
Our waitress Sabina was AWESOME!!! She was very tentative and knowledgeable about the menu. LOVE HER!! I highly recommend her if you go there!
The services was really slow, they said computers were down. The food was amazing.
The meal was wonderful!!
We were late but couldn’t get a call thru to let them know. They seated us anyway.
The food was SO good!
