La Pizza & La Pasta - Eataly Chicago
In accordance with Chicago guidelines, indoor dining has returned to Eataly Chicago.
La Pizza & La Pasta at Eataly features two of the best-loved Italian dishes: Napoli-style pizza and al dente pasta. Enjoy our seasonal selection just steps away from our expert pasta chefs and dough-slinging pizzaioli (pizza makers). To create our traditional but innovative dishes, our chefs cook with both fresh pasta made daily in-house and air-dried, bronze-extruded pasta from Campania, Italy. Eataly has teamed up with the experts at Rossopomodoro, a Napoli-based pizza company, to bring you traditional Neapolitan pizza. Creamy mozzarella, charred yet elastic crust, and sweet San Marzano tomatoes make for a pizza so delicious you will be singing along with our vibrant Neapolitan pizzaioli (pizza makers).

Went with the family for my wife’s birthday and the team was on it with high quality service. Enjoyed every minute of our time there.
Very safe and fast! Amazing food as always!
Outstanding first date night out since the beginning of covid! We felt very safe, as they had created individual pods with walls between each table. Even little hooks on the table to hang our masks! Everything was clean and well organized. The food came incredibly fast, and our waiter had a great sense of wine. Picked the perfect wines for each of us! Thanks!
The support staff was aggressive, loud, messy and ignored request for bread and pepper. We got a couple “looks” like it was annoying we had simple request. The mozzarella should be take off the menu. Plain blocks of grocery store mozzarella, not hand pulled, not even toast or a small arugula mix? Our server was clear, fun, attentive, looks like she had the whole floor. She was smooth and polite while touching tables and seemed happy to be at work.
I love Eataly and the food at this restaurant is very good but both the hostess and our waiter were rude.
Tables were not properly cleaned. Barely wiped.
The Fried rice balls were hot, crisp, and tasty. The meatballs were very, very delicious. The pasta was too undercooked...so much so that “al dente” would not be used to identify them. Service was moderate and nice, but not prompt. However, it was quite busy as it was a sunny Sunday afternoon with temps around 65 degrees during the first weekend of March.
Amazing food and service!!
Loved the lasagna!
Awesome service, delicious food. Great shopping. This is a must if you are in the area
The food and atmosphere are always great! Our party of five loved it!
I’ve been wanting to pop in here for some time and finally had the opportunity. We were sat right away - service was attentive - I can’t wait to go back and really do some shopping when I’m not on a time constraint :-)
Dinner was good. A little tight on the seating but it was ok would go back again
Great casual pizza/pasta establishment. Accommodated our group of 9 with no issues. Something for everyone: omnivores, vegetarians, & a vegan. Good/reasonable wine options. Love the shopping & the sweets shop on the 1st floor too!
Great selection in a unique environment. Good lunch value and awesome spritzer. Can’t wait to go back. Shopped after lunch for dinner options. Was able to sample anything.
They sat many people down at once with only one server, but she was very good at juggling all of us.
Food was delicious per usual.
Great food in cool surroundings. Host staff was solid. Server was hard to hear (mumble) and could have been more attentive. Overall good experience. Noise level is always a bit high.
Food was awesome and so was the atmospheres. Great service too.
OVERPRICED. Pizza was mediocre.
Food. Service. Restaurant. All amazing!! Thank you!
It was a nice experience. Quiet enough to have a good conversation. Server was nice and attentive.
Good pasta and pizzas in a very weird concept. Entrees comes at different times. Service was great!
I love the food here so much. That is what keeps me coming back. The service is not what it used to be though. You have to ask for bread and are not checked on throughout the meal. This wasn’t the case in their first year or so.
Always great Pizza!
Service was slow, the ceiling decorations were dusty and dirty.
It’s a maze to get to and very little to no directions or signage. We asked where to go and followed a workers directions. We ended up in front of a walk wheeled cart. I moved two inches to get through a walkway. A worker sarcastically said loud enough so we could hear, “Yes, just move it. Go around!” We finally found the correct hostess and were seated. The waiter was fine but not great. After ordering for lunch an ice tea, an app, a large salad, a pizza, and a pasta you’d think he’d refill my $3 ice tea. I had to ask and even then only once. The food was spotty. $74 before tip for lunch it should be great.
Pizza was very soggy. Service was slow, as it always is in this place
Service, quality and timeliness were very good, especially since we were there on a busy Saturday night. Food arrived piping hot and fresh. Server had good recommendations and was friendly and attentive.
The cacio e pepe is so good, it’s just like being back in Roma!
Good meal in a fun downtown setting. The pizza, cooked Neapolitan-style, was crispy and flavorful. My housemade pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce spicy with fresh bright flavors.
We had a table of four, so the waiter pushed two tables together. One side of the table was directly under a very bright light. It was clear there was not supposed to be a table there. I asked the waiter if he could do anything about it but he said no. My friend facing the light had to shield their face throughout dinner. We also asked if there was a sunday family style dinner, which we planned on, but the waiter flatly said no, and made no suggestions otherwise. The waiter also brought the bill as soon as we finished the pasta, even though we were going to order dessert. We even stated in the reservation that it was for a birthday. Service was extremely poor and we're unlikely to return.
Great food and service, always enjoy it.
Love this place! Such a fun experience, great food and atmosphere!
I love Eataly and the Pizza kitchen is one of my favorite places to eat. It reminds me of eating these dishes in Italy. I highly recommend it.
From Cleveland and every time we r in Chicago we always eat at Eataly! Amazing, fresh food and incredible service.
Most marginal Italian food you can find in Chicago. Overpriced and overcrowded. Skip it.
Reliably good food. The aglio olio was fantastic. The wait even with a reservation was a bit of a mess with two different lines to wait in before being seated. Also the timing could be better. We were told that pizza and pasta would come out at different times, but my companions pizza came out in less then five minutes about five minutes before our appetizer and fifteen minutes later my pasta came out. Anyway just be aware of that.
The Eataly experience is unforgettable and happy to have indulged. However, do not expect a lavish Italian dinner as the food is very bare bones and unexciting. It’s a quick-in and quick-out styled approach, with a very high price-tag associated with it.
The food quality is comparable, if not less than, a Costco Italian dinner that you can make at home in under 15 minutes.
Loved our server, but the amount paid for the food is less than desirable.
Nice anniversary dinner
Loved the food and different restaurants!
