La Pizza & La Pasta - Eataly Boston
While pizza and pasta are just the tip of the Italian iceberg, there is a reason these two culinary staples are the most beloved exports from Italy. Enjoy Eataly Boston's seasonal selection just steps away from where their expert pasta chefs and dough-slinging pizzaioli (pizza makers) create dishes before your eyes.
This restaurant inside of Eataly is quite busy. Although I made a reservation, we had to wait 15-20min for a table. It seemed like they are likely to overbook.
The area is pretty hectic but once you sit down, it is not terrible. The tables are close to each other so it could be uncomfortable to some people.
Overall food was pretty good. Pastas are on heavier side. The pizza crust was very good.
I’ve been to Las Vegas location and feel like this location is not as good. Although the experience was decent, I am unsure if I will return.
Service: Waitstaff are pleasant and knowledgeable, but their appearance at the table is infrequent.
Food: Had the potential to be very good, but two of three dishes for our table, a pizza and a pasta dish, arrived cold.
Wine: Received a recommendation from the waiter and really enjoyed the bottle he suggested.
Food and wine were great! Service was good. VERY loud and other patrons kept running into our table every time they’d walk by
Really wonderful dinner. We had reserved table for 3 but when more people showed up, they were very kind to accommodate 5 and squeeze us in. Thank you. Great meal, great time!
As per usual, our food, wine, and service was outstanding. Our server, Stephanie, was kind and engaging...and engaged, in fact. She should be promoted to grand Poobah as soon as possible, and her tips converted to stock options. She’s gonna have a family to feed before too awful long!
Also, the Barolo was slamming!
The pizza came out incredibly fast and the pasta was superb.
EXPENSIVE cold cuts and cheese for 29usd is way too much. It is still a food court
Ate here on a Saturday night, was a good thing we had a revervation! They were only running 10 mins behind schedule, but we didn't mind the wait. We got seated, our waiter was lovely, the food came out fast. Sometimes hard to get a second drink. The food was so fresh and authentic. Amazing!
Hardworking and long-suffering staff, given that the restaurants system does not honor reservations. You show up, check in for a reservation, and they put you on a long waitlist to get a table. They shouldn’t be on opentable if not going to honor reservations.
And the pizza is mediocre - barely have any cheese. It was hard to get salt and olive oil...
We waited for 45 minutes after our reservation time. Not great when you plan to attend a performance after dinner.
We went to the Boston location instead of the New York location for my daughter's birthday. We arrived about 5 minutes before our reservation time and let them know we were there. They sat us about 20 minutes later. Our waitress started out strong and was friendly but that's where things started to fall apart. We ordered two calzones, one pizza and a pasta/fish dish. The calzones came out first followed by the pizza. The pasta dish took at least 15 minutes longer and the waitress never came back to see if we needed anything. Then we asked for a cup of sauce for the calzones as they could have used a bit of sauce help. The sauce came shortly thereafter and it was ice cold. It took a bit of complaining but we got a hot (very small) dish - the one they use for dipping your bread in - for an additional $13. Not worth it. We did speak to the manager who was willing to discount our bill but I had already paid. She did bring a few dessert items. Overall, the food was good but the service was sorely lacking. We've never had this issue in New York.
Very consistent. Food is straightforward, flavorful, and meticulously prepared!
Amazingly quiet for being right inside Eataly. Good food. Quickly served. Pizza was a little thin, but tasty sauce
My reservation was messed up and my party were not seated together. This was for my daughters 16 th birthday party. It ruined the whole evening.
We always eat here (at least once, if not twice) when visiting Boston.
Our server was terrible.
We ordered pasta she brought pizza.
Not very attentive.
Perhaps she had too many table.
We will return though.
The food was amazing!
excellent meal - wasn’t as busy on a Thursday as it is on a Saturday so we didn’t feel as rushed!
Fun place to visit and shop.
Cool vibe and unique things to purchase.
Food was amazing and came so quick. Loved everything about it
There was no customer service. Had to wait for a table even with a reservation and barely saw our waiter after ordering.
Was a fun place to have a nice lunch. Had a delish gluten free pizza cooked perfectly. Enjoyed very much!
If a special pasta dish the server tells you about cost $38, far more than ANY OTHER PASTA on the menu, the server should mention the price. It wasn’t that good. The amount of lobster on it was not enough for that price.
Amazing food. We ordered burrata, soppresatta, and prosciutto for apps. All were fantastic. We then ordered a pizza with prosciutto and the butternut squash ravioli. Everything was so fresh, hands down my favorite place to eat in Boston!
Unbelievable. The wait staff is right on. The location in the middle of the market adds to the evening. The food is fantastic and quick.
The food is good. The staff is something horrible. I reserved online a table for 2 at 21:15. When we arrived (me and my wife pregnant) it seemed that they were starting closure. The first thing that i heard is one of the guys says a tipical Spanish insult: “de puta madre”. Thinking that I’m stupid and I won’t understand. This is unacceptable, and I didn’t say nothing cause i was there with my wife. It could be the best food in the world but things like that cannot be accepted. First and for sure the last time. I will not pay anymore for be insulted. No thank you.
Awesome service and great food
The food was great and it came out pretty fast for our larger group. We tried an admittedly obnoxious way to do our bill but the servers were patient and able to work with us.
Food was fresh and delicious, but would have appreciated the offer of freshly grated cheese upon food arrival instead of halfway through the meal. This is a very busy place. I had a reservation for 11am (opening time) and was not seated until 11:09 — the system appears to be that one hostess checks a party in, goes back to the table to set it up, brings party to their table, and repeats this process over and over. Maybe this was an off day?
This restaurant remains our favorite weekly get away! Value and quality along with great service.
Unique atmosphere situated within Eataly. The service was fast and the food was very good! They don't serve desserts, so if you are looking to finish your meal with something sweet, you'll need to look elsewhere. Fortunately, there are options within Eataly and Max Brenner is a short walk away.
what s happening, everything was great except the lasagna was so dry or overcooked?
Pizza crust was soggy in the center. The amount of sausage was negligible. Service was friendly and kitchen was fast. Atmosphere was loud. Price was a tad high for the ordinary quality.
It was definitely a good idea to make a reservation as when we got there it was packed. Our server was very friendly and polite, and everything came out pretty quickly!
Something has changed! I have been for lunch a few times but the quality of food and service has changed and not for the better. There are too many good places to go in the neighborhood!
I will chalk it up to a busy Saturday night and try lunch again.
My husband and I could not wait to eat here, we've heard so much about it. First, we felt pushed by the waiter to order right away, that is not how we dine. Once we ordered our "extra charge" salad was brought out within one minute followed TWO minutes later by our meals, really? My husband's meat and sauce ragu over pasta was very dry and bland. The servings were very small, I mean really small, and no soup or salad came with it, at $25 per plate!! I will say my Agnolotti pasta with lemon butter truffle sauce was very good, as was the Caesar. But, sad to say, the overall experience left us both hungry and very disappointed.
Love pizza here, as Southern Italian can't live without it! thanks Eataly to exist!
Cacio e pepe back to form. Ravioli are fantastic. Pizzas also quite good. Great experience bringing family from out of town here.
This is a small food court, plain and simple - Noisy, hectic, not conducive to a nice meal. The restaurant could not honor the reservation time. We waited 20 minutes. Service was friendly buy haphazard. Long wait to order wine. Food is mediocre. It would rate poor, but it is saved by the quality of the ingredients. Pizza was under-baked. Pasta was OK. Salad was ice cold and served within minutes of ordering, suggesting it was prepared well in advance. We will not be back.
We found the food to be substandard and way over priced. Typical tourist trap. Service was non existent. After ordering we never saw waiter until we chased him for the check. Better food and selection in the North End!!!
