La Pizza & La Pasta - Eataly Boston
Coming from NH, we don’t get into Boston to dine as often as we like. Last spring we traveled specifically to Eataly for a meal; unfortunately things didn’t work out when we arrived for our reservation. A young woman finally approached us and after letting us know the restaurant we reserved didn’t open at 11, and the truffles we were looking for were not available, she escorted us to La Pizza & La Pasta where we had a lovely lunch. This trip we had two of our family with us. When we entered, we thought we recognized the manager, she did remember us. She also remembered we had looked for truffles and let us know they had a limited supply available for lunch (we ordered two portions, they were perfect). We had an absolutely wonderful meal. The service was excellent, our server was attentive without being overly present. He let us know that our meals were all prepared fresh, but from different kitchens so they might not all come together (this ended up no issue), and he handled all our requests without delay. All of our food was wonderful. This is the type of place I would highly recommend to friends. Vanya and the entire crew made the end of our anniversary perfect. Thank you so much. (p.s. We have favorites in the North End, this rivals them, and parking is easier (they validate in Eataly).)
This particular dining experience was definitely a disappointment. My friend and I split a pasta and a pizza. The pasta dish we got was so bland and almost tasted like the meat had gone bad. I personally didn't eat more than two bites. It may have been salvaged with cracked black pepper and a heavy dose of cheese, but I couldn't catch anyone's eye to acquire some before the dish got cold and even worse than before. The pizza we got was good around the outside crust but absolutely soggy and floppy throughout the rest of the pie. All of my previous experiences at this particular restaurant in Eataly have been wonderful, so I was disappointed to have been underwhelmed with both dishes, the pasta dish, in particular, costing an extraordinary amount for the quality.
Pasta was extremely salty, very disappointed. Have been to Eataly before in Boston and NY and have always enjoyed the great food and homemade pasta.
To share the place with a friend from abroad
Food and Waitstaff are excellent but hostess could be a bit more customer oriented. Part of the restaurant was not being used with no explanation.
Food came out quick and tasted delicious, however, my girlfriend has spent the last two days sick with food pointing from some of the meat she had in one of the pasta dishes. Over all lively atmosphere and if not for getting sick, a lovely evening.
The food was excellent but I’ve never felt more rushed at a nice restaurant. I had to flag the waiter down for a second glass of wine and the bill was on the table before we were even finished. I realize they’re busy but it was a little much. When I made the reservation I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday but there was no acknowledgement of the occasion. I probably wouldn’t go back despite the good food.
Great Food! Great Service. Enjoy Eataly, La Pizza, La Pasta.
The staff at the bar is always exceptional and very attentive to customer service. Also, the food never disappoints!
Yummy gluten light pizza!
Love Eataly - great energy great food and wine tasting - super desserts and coffee Nd plenty of shopping - if you haven’t been it’s super fun
The food is incredibly bland and flavorless.
We had the special.pizza with the truffle cream. We all had a different pasta. Everything was exceptional.
The location is cool, that’s why I gave it 2 stars. Service was poor. Both pasta we ordered weren’t good; average or less than average. Any Italian restaurant in north end can do a better job on food. The cocktail was ok but too much ice in a cocktail, so after 5 mins, the drink tasted like bitter water. We waited for 10 mins until we got our bill, left there and not planned to come back.
I think there is a lot of hype about this place. The food was not bad. We ordered a Caesar salad and the waitress seemed shocked that we would ask for anchovies. she said they would not be available because it was only available as a side order with bread. I thought that was strange because the Caesar salad is usually offered within anchovies. The papardelle with mushrooms was delicious but I thought that the price that they charged was very very high for such a small order. the pizza with salami was good too. the service was fine. There was a nice selection of wines and beers
Great ambiance. I wish the servings were a little larger, but the value of it is perfect considering the pasta is handmade. Eataly never fails to disappoint!!
Really great Italian food. Love the open space. Very professional staff. We visited multiple times already and will definitely return.
Great, fresh food and wine! There might be a wait, but you can mosey around and buy some olive oils, pasta and sauces.
So good so simple. Not sure what else to say. Food is fantastic. Wine is wonderful. Service is superb.
The food was good but because each item was cooked in different kitchens, they came at different times. We ordered the 2 course lunch and first my friend’s pasta came out, then my pizza, and when we were almost finished, our first course salads arrived. I would think that a restaurant like this could figure out a way to serve courses in the proper order. I would never eat dinner there.
This is our second time here. My son request this place for his birthday for the last 2 years. he just turned 21. he loves the food, then shopping for italian foods after. The food is amazing, as well as the service. There is something quite special about their pizza as well. will be back again and again,
First time at Eataly, interesting store with lots of departments and eating places. We ate at La Pizza & La Pasta. It started with the most unfriendly hostess. It looked like she hated her job and made sure we knew it. After being seated we waited about 15 minutes before the server greeted us, the restaurant was not crowded for that long of a wait. We ordered drinks and 2 pizzas. Pizzas came out before the drinks. The pizza was very good. We left saying too bad the service was so bad because we really enjoyed the pizza. The experience turned us off and we won't return.
The food is amazing. The seating cramped. The hostesses have attitudes but the waitstaff are super friendly. If you want full on stimulation it’s the place to be. Forget trying to have an intimate conversation or simply feeling relaxed. This place is a zoo.
But again, the food is amazing and the prices reasonable. Also a fantastic wine selection.
Normally I give eataly Boston 5 stars for everything. Food was not as hot this time and waiter seemed a little too distracted to care if we needed anything. I’ll still go back though.
Eataly was great! The service was perfect and they even gave us a chef’s board simply because they were running a few minutes behind. The pizza and pasta were fantastic. We will definitely be back and will recommend to all our friends!
Great waiter and service on a busy Saturday. We started with the chef’s board, which was plenty for three to share. The waiter suggested a great rose, not too sweet. I had the Stella, beautiful presentation of thin crust pizza with tomatoes and arugula. We will definitely be back!
Food used to be much better, terrible customer service as always. The only reason we keep going is because my son is picky eater and he loves their spaghetti, but even that is not enough for me to go back.
Great! Loved it!
Great service, all ingredients fresh. Excellent gluten free options
Service was less than spectacular...we had to keep asking other servers for stuff. The bread was cold and it wasn't brought to us, we had to ask. Food was good but expensive for what you got.
Food is amazing and the place is just perfect but every time I go there the waiters are always scattered and never come to ask if we need anything else, they take your order and bring you the bill, other waitstaff bring the good. They are very nice but just not great service
I grew up in NYC and always compare Boston pizza unfavorably to what I always had in NYC. Now, with Eately, it's pretty much a toss-up. Great pizza - fresh ingredients, thin crust, right out of the oven - what could be better? Thanks. I'll be back.
Good food with pretty high prices. Pizzas are good but small. Pasta was excellent.
I was served the wrong meal but the error was corrected fairly quickly. Pasta is always cooked to perfection. Love the pizzas.
We love the food here. The pasta is cooked al dente just like in Italy, and it is the only place I know where I can get caccio e pepe as good as what I have had in Rome. We came to Boston from California for a short visit and the two primary attractions (among many) were a Red Sox game at Fenway and dinner at La Pizza & La Pasta. Service is outstanding. Highly recommend, but advise making reservations for dinner.
Food is excellent. Hostess acts like a prima donna. Unpleasant.
Sempre eccezionale. Poi Tommaso e Alessandro i migliori camerieri.🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Great service and fun ambience
The food was served hot and extremely delicious. Service was great. Be prepared on a Saturday night they are
looking to turn the table quickly so fast service and no deserts offered, so no need to linger. Knowing that going in, just enjoy the food and the restaurant for what it is, you will not be disappointed!
Food was tasty but everything else was horrible. Hosts were disorganized & rude. We had 3-4 different servers. It was a mess & no one was genuinely friendly or nice. We were so excited to dine here but left sadly disappointed. Staff needs to be trained. Good job to the kitchen for tasty food though. We won’t be back any time soon.
