Excellent food…very authentic
I dined here the evening before the Boston marathon because I needed to carb load and the restaurant was close to my hotel. It was okay, but lacked ambience. The server was not so attentive, even though I needed very little attention. The food was pretty good, but a bit overpriced - I assume because of the location in the Prudential Center. I’ll be back to Boston in April for the 126th running of the marathon, but I’ll find a different restaurant to carb load.
Pre race Boston marathon, great choice
Delicious food that did not leave you feeling heavy and bloated. Service was very slow but we were on a double date and just enjoyed each other’s company. Delicious cocktails and wines too. Cannolis were outstanding-light whipped. Highly recommend
I ordered Arancini, one of my favorite appetizers and a flatbread pizza with sausage and mushrooms. Service was quick, the place was very busy. The arancini was dry and not really warm. The pizza was tasty, but soggy on the bottom, which was disappointing. The price is just a bit high for food that is not top notch.
Portions of pasta were small and very bland. The appetizer calamari came after the pasta was served. And bread, cheese, olive oil not given until asked. Poor service.
We enjoyed our meal and experience! We've been to the LA location and were equally pleased with the Boston one. Our server was friendly and attentive. Our dishes (cacio e pepe and ragu) were delicious, as was the arugula salad. It was a little noisy and the tables are close together, but overall we enjoyed our experience!
The tagliatelle all bolognese is the best in Boston!
Always a delicious meal at Eataly! Great Oysters and you can purchase the pasta you loved at dinner! Very happy with the spinach and ricotta ravioli!
Eating at La Pizza and La Pizza was like a sprint to the finish line. I don’t think a solid minute passed between drink and appetizer or between appetizer and entree. Very rushed. Not an enjoyable dining experience.
Food was very good, as always. However, the service was extremely slow, almost non-existent. A glass of wine took 15 minutes to arrive and it took over 25 minutes to get my check. I did not take it out on my server, as I know times are hard and places are short staffed, but my husband had to leave mid meal because he had to catch a flight
We have been to this establishment several times and have always been extremely pleased with the food and service. This time was very different. We were seated promptly, which was great; however, I have dietary restrictions, which has never been an issue at this restaurant, but they seemed to be an issue from the time the waiter came over to our table. I asked for gluten free pizza (at 230 in the afternoon) and they had none. I was told sold out. Then I asked for a Caprese salad with grilled chicken and was told that the Caprese was not considered a salad so I could not add chicken to it. I asked when that changed because I have ordered the same food before and there was never a problem. The Caprese was apparently moved to appetizers so they would not add chicken to it. My son had to order a salad before his meal to which I added my chicken to his salad so I could actually eat something.
My husband also asked if he could add a piece of grilled chicken to his food and was told no, yet the menu shows add grilled chicken for $7 charge.
On top of the food debacle, the service was just ok. The waiter was not great at helping with our order or timing it to come out. They brought my son's salad with the chicken I added first. It was hot so i ended up eating the chicken before my caprese so it did not get cold. They then brought my caprese by itself and since that was my meal, I had to wait until they brought my son and husband's food. The waiter didn't time anything nor did he apologize for any of the debacle.
All in all the food was good as usual, however the service and food availability was just ok. I just wish it would have been a better overall experience.
Absolutely disappointing. Food was bland, so expensive for mediocre dishes with tiny portions. Incredibly slow, wrong appetizers brought over, charged for wrong items. Was soooo excited to try it and will absolutely never go back. Do not recommend. Go to the North End instead.
We had a birthday dinner and the food was not good. One of our parties steak came 30 minutes before the rest of our food. Then the raviolis were freezing cold when they came out. The desserts came out, with one coming 15 minutes before the other one. The timing of the food coming out was very off. We asked to speak to the manager and she was great and very apologetic. She was able to compensate and try to make up for the poor experience we had been having. She was very kind and apologetic of the situation and try to make things right which we appreciated.
Pasta was a bit too al dente. Portions were very small for the price. We will try another restaurant next time.
Delicious as always! My family loves to come here for authentic Neapolitan pizza. We miss it when we can’t get it in Naples, and the ones they make here remind us of home. Will always recommend. And the service is excellent.
Steak was quite bad, not cooked to our specifications, tasteless, and relative to the cut way sinew-y: difficult to eat, low enjoyment factor at a premium price. We are some of it bc no one came by to check up on us if we liked the food, then when they did come we told them it was a bad steak, but nothing was done. Overall pretty disappointed, felt like a tourist trap. Service is substandard, this is also not our first bad service experience. Come to think this place is only good for Negronis and the cold cuts board.
Inconsistent. I noted in the reservation I made thru Open Table I had an allergy and this wasn't addressed - I find the restaurant more like a cafeteria.
Overall good experience, very busy and noisy, but the food was great (cacio, pizza, bolognese).
Great experience only radio noise a little too loud a five star experience.
Love the menu choices, our meals were all prepared and served perfectly. Nice selection of Wine. Wait staff was exceptional! Heading back soon.
We always your eating here. And we love the grocery store!
We love going to Eataly but last night the service was definitely lacking. I know restaurants are understaffed and its hard to find employees. It showed.
Initially uneasy with the location of the restaurant in the middle of a market! But the delicious homemade pasta and pizza had me comfortable quick! Recommend for a casual but delicious Italian meal!
Too loud, but meal was delicious. Servers were working as a team and did a nice job. The level of noise - not from the open kitchen but from the glaring music- was obnoxiously loud and made conversation difficult.
Very good & fresh ingredients!
Great service and food. Our pizzas were cooked perfectly. We highly recommend hands down.
Pasta is fantastic; as are the sauces. Some great starters as well. They staff is very efficient — a little too so. They failed to time out our courses, so a runner showed up with our mains while we were still breaking into our salads. And our appetizers showed up sprinkled throughout the meal. With a little more coordination, this could be a fantastic dining experience.
The employee at the gelato counter felt it was his responsibility to mask shame us demanded we leave premises . Will never turn .
Went two weeks prior to this and was excellent. This time ….. We ordered the calamari (fried) way over cooked and the portion was on very small handful . not worth the money two weeks before triple portion size and cooked perfectly . Had the putenesca for main it was actually gritty . Like sandy , now I do know that the anchovies can make it a bit gritty depending on how they were packed BUT not this gritty . Lasagna was cool in the middle for our table mate and mushy. The pizza we had was great and the other person had pomodoro and spaghetti very good .
Food excellent & superb service
Great food! I would definitely recommend eating here. The atmosphere is fun and the food is consistently great.
Things are too quick!! Everything happened so fast I felt like I was in McDonalds. Perhaps slow things down so customers enjoy a relaxing meal?!?
The offerings are a shadow of the original menu. Wine selection is diminished - all of the higher end items have been removed.
One of the pasta dishes was supposed to contain Truffles. Neither truffles or the taste of truffle were obvious. When the waiter was asked about this he stated that truffle butter was used. We then asked if we could pay additional to have truffles added he said they were not available - not in season. --- To our surprise the fresh pasta area, just outside the restaurant, had truffles for sale.
Salad took a little longer than usual, but food was fantastic as usual!! Love the gf friendly pizza!! Rucola was amazing and fresh too!
Lovely dinner! Love the casual setting of the market place. We were seated at a high top and our server was attentive. The cacia e Pepe was amazing! As was my fish. This was one of their evening specials. Black bass, served whole. Only wished I thought to ask the price as I was not told it would be $45. As delicious as it was, there was not nearly enough to eat and it is a very boney fish.
Great food, awesome wine from Friuli and terrific service!
You're basically eating inside a retail food store. So ambiance is an interesting question. Its not crowded and it's comfortable.
But the food is the show. If you're going to have a pasta (we had pasta, no pizza) restaurant in a place called Eataly you need the food to be excellent to promote the retail.
Started with Caprese salad. One of best ever. The store made fresh mozzarella was really special. First it was room temperature or maybe a little warm. Then it was seasoned with salt flakes. The tomatoes were heirloom and perfectly ripe. Very fruity olive oil. Just perfect. But share it- had to be 1/2 lb of cheese.
The fresh made ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach with a lemon butter pistachio butter sauce complemented the ravioli but let you appreciate the fresh taste.
The lasagna was very traditional. Many layers with a meat sauce. Deep flavor. Just a classic.
Many wines to choose from. Knowledgeable server. Great service.
Wow has the service gone downhill here. No wonder we were able to get a table so easily. It's too bad as the pizza is so good. Hate to say this, but I wouldn't recommend it. Just grab something to go.
