I've been at La Piquette about 10 times. Always a good meal and a very enjoyable dining experience.
Visiting from NYC, what a terrific gem. We have travelled through France on many occasions and La Piquette resembles the experience of quality French dining in the surrounds of Washington DC.
Food always excellent and impeccable service. Can't go wrong.
Outdoor dining on deck on a warm spring evening. A normal event post COVID vaccines made spectacular by la piquette food. Superb.
Very nice place. The food is good and the service very nice and efficient. The best thing is their bread.
Always a pleasure! Consistently great food, service & ambiance!
always a treat. Next best thing to a trip to France
Piquette is a charming authentic French restaurant with excellent professional wait staff. This was our first dining out experience since the pandemic and it was a joy to have a perfectly prepared meal and gracious service. We sat outside, safely distanced from others, but still enjoying the buzz of dining away from home. Notably, the waiters quickly restocked a depleted propane heater without skipping a beat on delivering food and taking orders! Good wine list. Imaginative selection of appetizer dishes. Try the delicate and flaky apple tart.
Attentative wait staff. Good wine suggestions and delicious food. Perfect patio for a spring day.
Usually a very reliable and enjoyable local restaurant, which we've visited many times, but this time, the steak of the steak frites was too heavily peppered and the apple tart dessert was a bit dry. Not their finest hour, but we will return based on past experiences.
Great place. Excellent food and wine list. Very cozy, confy. Staff is attentive and helpful.
We enjoy the food and service at La Piquette. Sitting outside was very pleasant too.
We will be back soon
- if the weather holds up.
Loved sitting outside on the patio. Excellent service and our requests were handle promptly.
Continued excellence with the best in French cuisine in the entire Washington, D.C. area.
We enjoyed the special Easter prix fix dinner. All excellent.
Amazing, as always!
This was our third visit to La Piquette, and we have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves each time. The menu is varied, and they have plenty of gluten-free options, which is critical for me. The waitstaff is helpful and professional, and the food is excellent. It was actually nice to be there during the pandemic with reduced seating, as it was less crowded and quieter...but still felt convivial. We will be back!
The food was delicious and the staff very polite. Thank you!
Our favorite DC restaurant, with truly delicious and truly French cooking. We have eaten in, and taken out, and it's all good. There was a lag, as there so often is in most restaurants, between the ordering of dessert and the arrival of dessert. Aside from
that, all was perfect.
Two out three courses good. Service excessively slow.
Good bistro fare, escargot and steak frites. Difficult to go wrong.
Safely spacious indoors.
Very pleasant neighborhood restaurant. The food is reliable and straightforward. The restaurant is doing a very good job navigating COVID challenges. The outdoor space is pleasant and comfortable. Skews toward the pricey side for a casual dinner out.
The staff were very accommodating (outside table/heaters!). Food was delicious. Happy to be able to eat out again!
High quality meals. Great service. Excellent value.
A truly French menu. How often do you see cassoulet on the menu in a French restaurant? They have it here. And you can start with a cocktail of Ricard. Steak Frites, Escalope de veau Viennoise ( vienerschitzel in a German place) and other well prepared dishes make this a neighborhood jewel.
Excellent sweetbreads--a hard-to-find delicacy--and scallops (Coquilles St. Jacques). Generous pours for the cocktails. Attentive service, once we nailed down our server's attention. Nice and quiet, due to Covid volume restrictions; the uncarpeted room could probably get pretty noisy once it's full again.
Great community restaurant. No wonder it was in the Washingtonian Magazine. Wonderful
Great as always!
An oasis of wonderful food, ambience, and wonderful service
Very nice as always
Have had lunch here several times in the past month. The tables were well spaced (we at inside), the service was excellent and the food delicious. I had the shrimp with pasta (wonderful sauce) and my fellow diners had the chicken paillard.
Covid protocols were excellently done. We felt safe and well taken care of.
I have been to this restaurant a number of times, sitting outside and inside. The food is reliably excellent, the service friendly and prompt. I think one should be able to reserve outside in one of the tents without having to go when it first opens for dinner. Previously, we have been seated in one of the tents with a 7 pm reservation. Fortunately it was not very windy this time.
Best French food in town! Francis, the chef, was the chef for the French Embassy.
It was very good. The food is delicious and our server/host Ana was amazing, very nice, and made us feel welcome and comfortable, even in Covid times. The only thing I didn't give a 5-star in everything is that the decoration could improve a little bit, and the indoors lightning can be a little bit more intense. But aside of that, it was a great experience, everything was delicious.
We went to La Piquette this week to celebrate my spouse's birthday with our 3 adult children and it was fantastic. We love the outdoor covered structure that they have put in place for their outside tables - covered on the top with built-in heaters and open on the sides for full ventilation. We were lucky to have sunny weather with temperatures in the low 60's and everyone was excited to be able to eat outside on such a lovely evening.
Most important, the food and service were outstanding! All five of us ordered different appetizers and entrees and there was generous sharing among the group so we were able to experience a good portion of the menu. Everything was perfectly prepared and it was hard to pick any favorites.
La Piquette has become our favorite restaurant during the pandemic!
The staff was very welcoming and attentive!!! Their attention (and the delicious food) made for a delightful evening! Lovely, intimate and warm restaurant.
Very enjoyable in every way! Delicious and innovative food, great bar, wonderful wine, and service. Maybe a little noisy but small price to pay for everything else being perfect!
We had a lovely lunch outside for our anniversary. The first time out since the pandemic. The wait staff is excellent, as are champagne based drinks and bread. Delicious fish and steak entrees. Only problem was “ceviche” was not really ceviche, more like shrimp on lettuce and too much vinegar. Stick to French dishes. Looking forward to going back soon!!
