A neighborhood Bistrot located in Cleveland Park that stays faithful to its French roots offering the best French dishes on this side of the Atlantic
Executive Chef Francis Layrle prepares a daily menu with farm raised and seasonal fresh ingredients. The bar offers a carefully curated wine selection and house cocktails. La Piquette presents an authentic bistrot atmosphere the way it is meant to be: fun, simple and delicious.
The best French bistro in town! An excellent meal, wine selection and service.
Such a friendly, welcoming restaurant. And with a genuine French feel. The food was very good. It will become our new go-to restaurant.
We love La Piquette but Saturday night was extraordinary. The veal was the best I'd ever had.
The food was excellent, ambiance lively and nice, and they offered the full menu for restaurant week - - which most places do not do. Service was friendly and efficient. The appetizers (calamari plate and cod croquette) were delicious. The seared scallops and a breaded veal entree were both terrific. Desserts were a delight as well (esp the chocolate mousse). Very impressed with this restaurant. Will return!!
LaPiquette is a wonderful bistro! Great food and ambiance!
Really good food (4/5), not quite the same level as the food you'd find in Paris but still solid.
My wife and I spent $77 for 2, enjoyed the meals (I had the duck breast from the dinner menu and she had the 3 course set lunch menu of the salmon tartar salad, loaded omelette and creme brule) but left somewhat hungry. The portion sizes and the overall value (2/5) wasn't quite what we would have liked.
Atmosphere, decor, location all great (5/5). The waiter forgot about bringing us dessert, but another waiter noticed us sitting and took the time to ask. Also brought us extra table bread when we asked (though some of the bread was a bit stale while others were fresh. Overall service (4/5).
What a great experience. Has become my favorite place in DC. Food is delicious and staff is superb
The Washington Restaurant Week offerings were excellent in all categories. The bronzino was very good and the. Chocolate fondant was to die for!
Superb meal of cod croquettes, steak frites done perfectly, and tarte au pommes (the best I have ever eaten in the States).
Great food at reasonable price. Friendly attentive servers.
Came for DC restaurant week, we were seated promptly and the menu was much larger than I was expecting. So many delicious sounding options that I had a hard time choosing! I cleaned my plate during every course, and everything was delicious! Service was a bit slow at some times and it was a bit hard to get a refill on my drink, but overall - will definitely be returning!
The duck, coq au vin and mushroom appetizer were huge standouts. So glad we went for restaurant week!
I ordered the duck and it was ridiculously goos. The restaurant week menu was wonderful, basically there full menu with some proce adjustments. I would definitely go again.
A delicious, enjoyable meal in a charming atmosphere. The noise level makes conversation a bit difficult, though.
wonderful french food. great atmosphere and a pure delight.
Outstanding French bistro. Small, cozy, unpretentious.
A wonderful place, with good food, reasonably priced, and good, attentive service!
Such a wonderful meal for the three of us!! And a new cocktail—-yum!
Everything was good but the leek and potato soup was exceptional.
Didn’t need the reservation at 11:30 AM
Will sit outside next time (weather permitting)
Jose’s and Edgar were great servers! Food was very good.
Classic French Bistro food at its best. My wife and I had steak and frites. Sorbets are the best this side of Europe. We sat outside on the restaurant's small street-side patio so I really cannot comment on the noise level inside.
Lovely meal, chose to sit outside because of the noise level in the dining room. Very good food, excellent service, reasonably priced wine list. Look forward to a return dinner.
Perfect food and service; perfect weather for a late date-night dinner on the patio.
We were celebrating a dear friend’s special birthday. The staff was helpful in seating right away and it was much appreciated as two of us are disabled. The food was fabulous, although the timing between courses was a wee bit slow. However, they did allow us to stay extra long at our table and that was appreciated also.
Since we go to restaurants for good food, La Piquette is excellent. But difficult to carry on a conversation.
Wonderful squash blossom appetizer, followed by seared scallops and lemon cake dessert. Fit for foodies!
La Piquette is my family’s favourite restaurant! Every time we go we have a wonderful time, the food is always delicious and the service is great.
Fabulous food ... soft shell crab, mushroom appetizer, bread, and orange cake with cream sauce. And the other dishes were very good Fois Gras, Duck L’orange, and veal. In addition a great mixed drink - Gin & Tonic. In addition our waiter was most polite and experienced. La Piquette is consistent with very good to excellent dishes and terrific service ... my favorite French Bistro in DC.
Great food, service and value. lovely ambiance. Seasonal dishes such as the squash blossoms and soft shell crabs were well prepared.
La Piquette has become my favorite restaurant in D.C. Its old-world charm with wonderful food and first-class service is always a treat. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
The food was excellent. Some of the best skate I have ever had. Service was very good. It was the excessive noise level which reduced the ratings
Food and service were terrific, noise level is very diffucult , even with 4 people.
It’s like coming home to Paris every time.
La Piquette is one of my favorite local restaurants. The servers are knowledgable and helpful. We had the mushroom and shrimp cerviche appetizers which were divine. The branzino and haddock entrees were flavorful, balanced, and reasonable portion sizes. The cream brûlée and apple tarts were the perfect compliments to our dinners. We left sated and satisfied! My friend had never been there and is already planning her next meal at this lovely restaurant.
La Piquette is Washington's hidden secret when it comes to being able to enjoy quality French food in a relaxed atmosphere. The small but open restaurant space is free from the noise, crowds, and pretense of many of the so-called "higher rates" French restaurants in the Washington Post or Washingtonian "best" restaurants.
We love this restaurant! Best French food in Washington. Like being in Paris.
Good food but way too loud. Had trouble carrying on a conversation
Really overrated and not a good choice based on what else is available in the DC area. Each dish was rather basic, with no real taste or flavor. When you order a side of $10 Brussel sprouts and they come out boiled with no seasoning, you’re not trying very hard!
Would not return.
A delightful evening!
This our go-to place for any kind of celebration. The food is exceptional and the service is terrific. It's like being in a restaurant in a small town in France. We love it!
