A neighborhood Bistrot located in Cleveland Park that stays faithful to its French roots offering the best French dishes on this side of the Atlantic
Executive Chef Francis Layrle prepares a daily menu with farm raised and seasonal fresh ingredients. The bar offers a carefully curated wine selection and house cocktails. La Piquette presents an authentic bistrot atmosphere the way it is meant to be: fun, simple and delicious.
Quite good. Apple tart was quite different and tasted great. The entrees were excellent. Special mention for the Eggs Benedict and the Mushroom appetizer.
Lovely birthday dinner at La Piquette. Was able to get a table for 5 without issue. Food was amazing, but service was a bit slow. Deserts came out well before the coffee.
Authentic French bistro, great food and value.
Love this place! Delivers consistently excellent fresh cuisine!
Food was great and they were nice and brought a dessert with candle to the birthday boy when I asked, no charge. The food took a very long time to come to the table - both the appetizers and the meal. One of us ordered risotto and so not sure if this caused the wait. It was delicious and we will go back but if the service is that slow again we might not go back a third time.
Great French bistro. Best in D.C.
I met a friend at La Piquette for a weekday lunch. I had the Moules frites, which was delicious. The mussels were plump and fresh in a soup that I finished to the last drop. My friend had a salad that she enjoyed. The service was top notch and we had no problem hearing each other during our discussion. I recommend La Piquette without restriction.
Love this place. Food is great and atmosphere so nice.
Great meal. Waiter was attentive. Loud but fun place. Not at all stuffy
Great food, ambiance is not fabulous, but very nice. Service is very good. highly recommend.
We booked for a business meal, but spent most of the evening discussing our mutual experiences traveling in France and sampling the local foods and wines there. We were inspired by the authentic surroundings, which could be in Paris or Beune for all we knew. Excellent food and wine, we loved the St. Emilion for $62.
We love La Piquette and always look forward to returning—either for lunch, brunch or dinner
When my brothers and sisters come to town we always make La Piquette a part of the visit and we are always delighted with the experience.
We love this restaurant -- the menu is authentic and varied, the quality of the food is always good, the service is friendly. We particularly enjoy it later in the evening when the crowds have moved out. We'll be back as soon as possible!
Although our food was very good and the service was as well, the noise level was way too loud. We were pretty much jammed in between 2 other tables, one was especially loud, my husband and I could barely hear one another.
Absolutely in love with La Piquette. Best crusty French bread. Great drinks and the food absolutely surpassed my expectations. The grilled leek salad, mushroom risotto, les frites (because my family said we had to try them) and the apple tart. I was full the next morning. But this morning I woke up craving that perfectly cooked mushroom risotto. Merci beaucoup! We will be back.
Excellent. Had the "Bourride au Safran, Aïoli Olives - Monkfish, Shrimp, Mussels, Potatoes, Fennel, Aïoli, Calamari. But I was told the sauce was the same as I had at lunch a couple of days before in this dish: "Sautéed Calamari - Mussels, Tomatoes, Fennel, Garlic, Shallots, Basil, Olives w/ Pits" but the latter sauce was better/more delicious - it was more concentrated than the sauce in the Bourride.
Frites are delicious.
Always a delight!
Amazing food! Hadn't been there for 4-5 years and food was better than I remembered. It was outstanding.
My go to restaurant in the neighborhood. Great food, lovely wine list, and welcoming staff.
Perfect as always. I had a friend down from NY and even he was wowed. Just perfect in every way.
We went for brunch and really loved everything that we ordered. We are looking forward to returning soon for dinner.
Cuisine is among the best in Washington, as good as, if not better than some that have Michelin stars. The only negative is the high noise level. That is why I reserve for 9 p.m. when the main crowd of the evening is finishing up and departing.
Always love eating here. Both the food and the atmosphere make me feel like I'm in Paris.
Excellent food, attentive service, very loud. Good wine list
Great food and good variety on the menu.
The rabbit is always delicious and the loupe de mer was really good too.
Always superb. Love the sweetbreads in madeira and the steak tartare
A true gem of a restaurant in the neighborhood. A little slice of ParisIn Cleveland Park. Service is wonderful, the wine list is great with magnificent French wines in all price points. The food is so good.
The Chef’s taste is mine. Thus, I find his food to be immensely pleasurable.
Confession. I have enjoyed Francis’ food for over 30 years. He cultivates excellent sources, and prepares the ingredients so that dining on his food is a smile producing experience.
I was disappointed by the experience. I had reserved a table and yet we were seated just beyond the entrance door in the middle of the room. The restaurant was very noisy—the usual loud chatter compounded by a baby crying and a table of screeching women. It was difficult to talk with my friends because of the noise. The service was rather abrupt—if the waiter asked for a drinks order, I didn’t hear it. The bill was tossed on the table before we had a chance to ask for it. The food was all right--I had a salade niçoise, which was served with salmon rather than tuna. The salmon was cooked properly and the salad was fresh, the flavors were good, but there was nothing outstanding about the meal or the experience.
Awesome dining experience; took me back thoughts of Paris.
Although I informed the Manager, the waiter forgot to bring a candle on the dessert (a b'day celebration). Also, $33 for a small salad with very little crab in it, is a little bit expensive...
As always, excellent food. Service was very good. We were allowed to eat at a leisurely pace but the waiter was attentive.
Very reminiscent of a Paris Bistro, a bit crowded and noisy. All the food we had ranged from very good to excellent. The soup of the day was cauliflower - absolutely superb. I would highly recommend it
We arrived early for Sunday dinner so the cozy restaurant was not yet full and we could have a comfortable conversation. The food was great. Best Dover sole I’ve had ever. Tuna and salmon were a big hit. Service was excellent and friendly. Once the tables fill up, it’s a bit noisy.
My wife and had had lunch here for Valentines Day. The food was great. We both had French onion soup, trout and apple torte. The French onion soup was the best I’ve ever had. Service was a little slow although they weren’t very busy. Once we were seated it probably took at least 10 minutes before any took our drink orders. Admittedly we weren’t in a hurry but had we been it would have been annoying. Also, near the end of our meal I had to flag down a waiter to get additional water and iced tram. Overall I rated the place a 4 due to the quality of the food and it’s a quaint neighborhood restaurant.
Felt like we were in Paris!
I love this restaurant. I feel like I’m in Paris every time I eat there. I’ve never had a bad meal there. The food is always wonderful. All the staff is super attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is one of my all time favorites.
