We've been eating at La Piazza for 30+ years and have loved the experience. However, our last visit (May 25, 2025) will be our last visit. They must have changed owners and staff as the food, in particular, was not as we had come to expect. The calamari steak was half the usual size and the sauce was watery and the ciopipino was more like spaghetti bolognese with a few mussels. Sadly, the overall appearance of the place is starting to look "worn".

Had a reservation, but still were put at a table that was in the middle of everything, while the table we asked for remained open the whole time we were there. Food was ok, but not great. Coating on chicken parm was burned. Had to scrape it off. Service was very slow.

Great place for wood fired pizza and great Italian food. Nice selection of Italian reds and the bruschetta is AWESOME. Great, casual spot in Orinda.

We have been frequenting this restaurant after viewing a film at the Orinda Theatre. We have found the service to be accommodating and the food delicious. I appreciate that they have many vegetarian choices in their soups and entrees. The noise level is usually moderate. It was energetic on this day because there was a large group watching the Super Bowl.

My husband and I had a wonderful post-movie dinner at La Piazza! The atmosphere was a pleasant, comfortable neighborhood vibe with a warming fire in the pizza oven. Not too noisy, and the food was delicious. My generously poured glass of Willamette Valley pinot noir was outstanding and only cost $13, a bargain these days! Our meals were also delicious and abundant, and served with great care and timeliness. All in all, a lovely experience, and we will go back multiple times!
