Great ambiance, notable wine list, knowledgable staff & a delicious meal!
Overall not impressed, had high expectations for such a highly praised New Orleans restaurant. Food was okay, Blue Crab Beignets were the best I’ve had, entree was nothing special. Had the beef tenderloin, needed more salt and slightly undercooked. Service was non existent, had to raise my voice to get the servers attention several times, and it wasn’t even busy. Overall I probably won’t make a second visit.
Great food, service, drinks and ambience. Thanks to Lauren for making it extra special with excellent service.
Four of us were in NOLA for a weekend celebration that culminated with brunch at La Petite Grocery. We had a great server, who happily took our photo, and the food was fabulous! Hope to be back again soon!
I’ve been meaning to go here since my last trip to NOLA and am so glad I finally got to try it. The Turtle Bolognese with Bucatini was amazing!
Amazing! By far our favorite meal in New Orleans. My husband and I agree that this was probably one of the top 5 meals we’ve ever had. We started with the hummus with lamb ragu with piping hot pita. Wow!! I could have eaten this all night. We ordered the slow roasted lamb with Persian rice. Fantastic. You won’t be disappointed.
We met old friends here for Saturday brunch. It was the first visit for all of us and we were more than pleased. We started with the crab beignets for the table. These are a must. Delicious! The ladies both had shrimp and grits and this dish was excellent. One of the husbands had the pork chop and he reported that it was very flavorful. He had been searching for a pork chop to measure up to one in his past and this one met his challenge. My husband ordered two items from the appetizer menu: the short ribs and a salad. He was pleased with both. Two of us had mimosas and two had Bloody Marys. Both were good, but I would get the Bloody Mary next time. The bar makes a special one. I had been warned that the restaurant was very noisy and it was lively, but we had no problem talking and hearing. We will visit again on our next trip to NOLA.
The best meal we had in New Orleans! Classic NOLA ambiance, the crab beignets were unbelievable, as were the rest of the appetizers. Would definitely go again.
The restaurant was charming and the food was good. But the service was pretty bad.
The waitress was not pleasant at all. I don't know if i would need to go back.
Enjoyable meal in a pleasant setting
Every dish was a hit!
This place was great in every aspect. The service and ambiance were on point and the food was incredible. Interesting drink menu, highly recommend The Great Conflagration. The blue crab beignets were one of the highlights of the meal. Would highly recommend booking reservations well in advance. But if you have to wait, it's definitely worth it.
We were thrilled that the bartender recreated our favorite cocktail from previous visits: The Ruby Red Reviver.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the New Orleans area and we have returned to it on every visit to NOLA.
Broccoli salad was undercooked, and main course came out tepid. At this price point would not expect either
La Petite Grocery is my favorite white tablecloth restaurant in New Orleans (maybe the entire US)! The restaurant and bar shine every time.
I think that our server may have forgotten to enter our entree order because it took a very long time after the appetizers... but everything we ate was excellent. Can’t wait to come back!
Food was excellent. I recommend the blue crab beignets and the turtle bolognese.
It was awesome!
Much anticipated. Very disappointed.food fair service worse
Food was very good, service was excellent - recommended.
Very nice. Good Shrimp and Grits! They need to serve sweet iced tea.
Outstanding experience! Make this a must go on your next trip. Fyi...dinner at the bar so can't comment on dining room experience.
It was our anniversary and they made special printed menus for us! The service was excellent and the food was delicious! Would definitely return!
My husband, two teenage daughters and I had a wonderful experience at LPG. The menu has options for everyone and it was difficult to choose. As usual, we shared several starters, my husband had the lamb shank, and I shared the duck confit with one of the girls (our other daughter opted not to order an entree, coming off of several days of eating in NOLA, she was maxed out). We shared a dessert. Everything was delicious and up to expectations. The service was spot on, with one snafu being, the wine we ordered to accompany our entree did not show up until we were finished. Oh well, it did not spoil our evening and we hope to return on our next visit to NOLA.
La Petite Grocery had been recommended to us by several friends and seemed to keep popping up in magazines and articles I'd read, so we were excited to give it a try. Making a reservation was easy, as was checking in and being seated by the charming hostess. From there, things went a little sideways before getting back on the rails. We sat for a long period of time before we received water. Then, we sat for longer and longer, until we flagged someone down to order drinks. That someone was either the sommelier or a floor manager, who quickly sent a server over. Once we were able to order, we enjoyed both the food and the leisurely pace of our dinner. The cocktail list is solid and we were still talking about the delicious mushrooms in the ricotta dumplings several days later. In short, I'm happy to enjoy taking my time when eating and receiving food orders as kitchen tickets are fired, but get some water and/or a drink in me before the 20- to 30-minute mark, please!
Wonderful Easter brunch!!!! The specials were fantastic. The deviled eggs with fried oysters was one of the best items we had all weekend. The ambiance is great and the food selection has great variety. Will plan to try it for dinner next time we are in NOLA
Fantastic food, attentive service, and warm welcome. A bit noisy, but it was Raster weekend, so we didn't mind. A couple miles from the French Quarter but we'll worth the short cab or Uber ride. I for sure be will definitely seek La Petite Grocery out again next time I'm in New Orleans.
Excellent food and ambience and wonderful staff to make a special experience
This gem is an obligatory visit for NOLA. The Crab Beignets are a must and were featured in Condé Nast Traveler for best beignets. The shrimp and grits did not disappoint. Mixologist and waitstaff were kind, efficient, worked seamlessly together and anticipated needs without intrusion.
Stellar experience all around!
Cold food and rude service.. wouldn’t go back if meal was free.. if you don’t want customers to come in at 10pm don’t accept those reservations. We felt alienated from the moment we sat down. We ordered wine and food, out wine came out great but the when the food came out it was not hot at all.. we didn’t say anything cause our server wasn’t giving us a warm and fuzzy feeling. We wanted dessert and had it. Best part of meal. Then our server was to busy in the back kitchen to process our payment. Would not spend another dime here,. Sorry James Beard but this should never have received your prestige award..
This was truly one of the best meals I've had in several years. The service was excellent the atmosphere was lovely and the dining experience was terrific. I would recommend it to anyone!
The deserts were incredible.
The pastry chef is Michelin Star level, as good as the pastry chefs at the famed French Laundry.
Spent three days in NOLA with my grown daughter. This was our best meal of the trip! We enjoyed every bite, especially the crab beignets and the butterscotch pudding. Our server was great, too!
An incredible evening of amazing food, gracious surroundings and phenomenal service. As our last night in New Orleans we most definitely felt we had left the best for last! I will definitely return on my next visit to New Orleans! A New Orleans gem!
Best food I had the entire week I was in New Orleans. High end recipes. Quality ingredients. Great service.
Very attentive staff
Our travel to New Orleans was, in large part - driven by a lust for great food. La Petite Grocery didn't disappoint! The food and the cocktails were so inventive and delicious. A lovely wine list as well. The staff was professional, well informed and welcoming. The ambiance was creative, welcoming - just delightful. We sampled practically everything on the menu - not a dud in the bunch.
I had Shrimp and Grits. The dish was outstanding. The grits were creamy, and
the shrimp were perfectly cooked. But, the Chocolate Butter Crunch was the best dessert I have ever eaten. The chocolate had a hint of ginger, and the vanilla ice cream and crunch topping were the perfect balance.
