On Saturday, May 16, 2020, we re-opened the dining room for dinner service in abidance with the City and State Safe Opening Guidelines. Reservations are preferred. Come dine in this beautifully restored Uptown restaurant on Magazine Street and enjoy James Beard Award Winning Chef Justin Devillier's contemporary Louisiana Cuisine.

The La Petite Grocery name pays homage to the history of its home, a building that’s stood for more than a century. The original structure was built in the late 1800s and called the Central Tea, Coffee and Butter Depot. In 1908, a fire devastated the space and it was transformed into a full service grocery store. Later it was most notably a fine foods and butcher shop, VonderHaar’s Fine Foods until 1982. When La Petite Grocery opened in March of 2004, they similarly aspired to provide the neighborhood with exotic teas, locally roasted coffee, and fresh produce. By doing this, we hope to provide a dining experience that evokes nostalgia of old New Orleans.

First time back in Nola in over a year. So excited to be back at LPG. Charles our server was attentive and helpful. Crab beignets never disappoint! The rabbit is la schnitzel and oh so crunchy with tender juicy inside. But my all time favorite dish is the butterscotch pudding served in a small Mason jar. An intense creme brûlée flavor. Get your own😋 Outdoor dining available.

My favorite restaurant in New Orleans, hands down. And that’s not a throwaway compliment. Every time I go here I’m overwhelmed by how they’ve been able to blend an old-school ambiance with modern New Orleans cuisine. The blue crab beignets and ricotta dumplings are to-die-for. Best part: it amazingly won’t cost you and arm and a leg for dinner. Do it.

We tried a lot of different things and loved everything we ate! The beet and crawfish salad from the appetizer menu may have been our favorite dish of the night!

We had a great Mother’s Day meal at Le Petite Grocery. We reserved an outdoor table at 5:15 as that was the only reservation we could get; the sun was unbearable in our faces at that time of day so we pleaded to move inside since it was early and so few diners were present. The hostess moved us to a table just inside closest to the front door but explained that we had to be gone by 7:15 which we were totally fine with. Our food and drinks were amazing, they are really strict about masking while you’re not seated at your table… I get it. It was pretty pricey… 250-ish for three people and 3 cocktails... We will be back!

Fabulous restaurant. We enjoyed a wonderful split pea and mint shrimp rissoto which was fantastic. My wife and I split a burger and a turtle Bolognese pasta both of which were outstanding, maybe the best burger that I have ever had. The toffee desert was also outstanding. We were there on a Wednesday night and by 9:15 we were the only ones left in the place. Disheartening for such an outstanding restaurant.

The beets and crawfish were excellent, and the paneed rabbit was fantastic. The red wine was very good and reasonably priced. Jeffery's service was friendly, attentive, and professional. Highly recommended. Am looking forward to my next visit.

Best meal in NO. Had the potato dumplings for appetizer that were superb. So good we ordered seconds. Eggplant soup was delicious and not rich in cream, my shrimp wrapped in bacon with grits was the best entree i had all weekend long in NO. Service was great and atmosphere was classy with moderate noise levels. The two desserts we had were top notch, dark chocolate something and a pudding that i just wanted to take a bath in it.. Yum so good.. Will definitely be back.

I loved my date night at Petite Rouge. Our server was attenuative & accommodating (made great mocktails upon request). We got blue crab beignets & ricotta dumplings as appetizers and both were 10/10- simply blew me away with their flavor & composition. For entrees, my boyfriend got lamp & I got the flounder special. Both of the meats were just so-so, although the vegetables on the plate were very well seasoned and delicious. The mediocracy of the lamb & flounder, coupled with how fast everything came out, made me think perhaps they had been sitting for a moment. We had a late reservation, so that would make sense. That is only thing keeping me from 5 stars. The apps, service, and atmosphere will definitely bring us back.
