La Petite Grocery
The La Petite Grocery name pays homage to the history of its home, a building that’s stood for more than a century. The original structure was built in the late 1800s and called the Central Tea, Coffee and Butter Depot. In 1908, a fire devastated the space and it was transformed into a full service grocery store. Later it was most notably a fine foods and butcher shop, VonderHaar’s Fine Foods until 1982. When La Petite Grocery opened in March of 2004, they similarly aspired to provide the neighborhood with exotic teas, locally roasted coffee, and fresh produce. By doing this, we hope to provide a dining experience that evokes nostalgia of old New Orleans.

You can always count on a wonderful dining experience at LaPetite. It never disappoints- whether you are sitting at the bar for a small plate with a drink or celebrating a special occasion. They know how to get it right every time.
Great food and service. Our waiter was amazing and helpful.
It was my birthday and the staff made me feel outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful experience
Amazing meal, highly recommend.
Fantastic every time we visit ! Exceptional wait staff last visit
Food was unbelievably good
The ambiance is top notch. The service could not have been any better. The portion sizes could have been a little larger, but I am a big guy. Nonetheless is was a wonderful experience !!!
What a lovely historic building! The food quality was excellent and they pay attention to detail. Located in a beautiful neighborhood, this a a local gem. From the excellent cocktails to well prepared entrees makes this a repeat dining experience. The shrimp and grits were the best we've had in NOLA. Yes there is butter in the grits. Enjoy! Make a reservation.
Excellent restaurant in our neighborhood. Great to see Julia back !
Excellent food in a unique atmosphere. The brunch selections were great.
I've been to Le Petite several times in the past and never have a sub-par experience so I decided to take my mother while she was in town. I told her to order the turtle bolognese which is my personal favorite and always delicious. Unfortunately, the dish came out cold, unseasoned, and with different pasta that it is usually served with - making it hard for one to get a bite of the sauce/meat with the pasta. I had ordered a salad, which came out last which was confusing given the temperature of the pasta.
One of my favorite restaurants. Always good. We had the ricotta dumplings with squash and pumpkin seeds and chicken gumbo for appetizers, both excellent and scallops and fried pork chops for entrees both excellent as well. We had a simple dessert of homemade butter pecan ice cream with salted chocolate cake crumbles. Yum. Along with the meal we had a wonderful bottle of gruner veltliner We sat outside due to COVID and the staff took precautions with masks etc. highly recommend
Everything was AMAZING!!! We tried almost everything on the menu and it was to die for!!
Again, I wonder if we should find a different way to make reservations. Good food, nice atmosphere, good waiter and awful table. The worst table in the restaurant...Looking directly into the kitchen!!! Seriously considering deleting this app!!!
4 of us had a delightful birthday dinner for our son-in-law. He received appropriate special attention. We all enjoyed our entrees.
Stunning as usual
Wonderful meal and atmosphere- highly recommended!
Great social distancing and enforced masking. Food was spectacular as always.
It was a great experience for our Daddy -Daughter date. The staff was very accommodating and patience with my daughter and I. The food and service was great!!! We are looking forward to the next time.
The food was wonderful and very unique and service was outstanding.
Amazing food and service. Everything on the menu looked fantastic. We will have to go back, so we can try everything. I highly recommend the turtle bolognese.
enjoyed our meal there Friday!! dealing with weather and ran late for our reservation of 5:15 and made it there for 5:30. front desk was very accommodating!! ordered the fried pork chop and it was ok, probably would not get it again, a personal thing though!! everything else was awesome!!
I had been wanting to visit after hearing great things. I was incredibly disappointed with the food. Nothing that we ordered was special, delectable, or worth a second visit. Simply put, all hype.
Cocktails were excellent. Appetizers, especially the Blue Crab Beignets, were excellent. Entrees were very good (Shrimp and Grits and Seafood Stew). Service was also very good. Would highly recommend Le Petite Grocery.
Always a winner.
An awesome new find in dining in New Orleans. Small plates but more than filling as well as delicious! Definitely will return again!!!
We sat outside. It was a beautiful evening. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was so nice.
Intimate room. Socially distant seating. Shrimp and grits were delicious and pork chop was yummy. Expansive wine list. Would definitely recommend.
Always a great experience!
always good! outdoor seating worked very well. they made our 3 year old a delicious pasta dish. very accommodating.
This was an outstanding dining experience! We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary and the La Petite Grocery team made us feel incredibly special from the moment we arrived until we left. Everything was well thought-out and prepared, from the drinks to the desserts.
The best of NOLA.
Celebrated my husband's & friend's birthday during Restaurant Week. Great selection of the best cocktails and food anywhere plus friendly, amazing service. Every visit to NOLA includes a meal at la petite grocery!
My husband and I went here for our 10 year anniversary and it was amazing. The service, cocktails and food were all incredible. It is one of my favorite meals I have ever had in the city, and that is really saying something.
Great food service and ambiance
It was a Saturday lunch and everything was perfect
The restaurant week menu was top notch. The food wonderful and the staff great.
We loved it!! Alex was a very nice, funny, and knowledgeable server who gave us a great suggestion for a Rose. Everyone who touches the table was friendly and professional. We love LPG!
We had the fried chicken sandwich off the restaurant week menu and thought it was AMAZING! Thank you for great food and service!
We came for restaurant week, and unfortunately paid 45 dollars for a 30 something dollars meal, however it was delish!
One of the best meals in one of the most refined restaurants you'll ever have.
