We welcome you in joining us for Lunch, Dinner & Sunday Brunch. Come dine in this beautifully restored Uptown restaurant on Magazine Street and enjoy James Beard Award Winning Chef Justin Devillier's contemporary Louisiana Cuisine.

The La Petite Grocery name pays homage to the history of its home, a building that’s been standing for more than a century. The original structure was built in the late 1800s and called the Central Tea, Coffee and Butter Depot. In 1908, a fire devastated the space and it was transformed into a full service grocery store. Later it was most notably a fine foods and butcher shop, VonderHaar’s Fine Foods until 1982. When La Petite Grocery opened in March of 2004, they similarly aspired to provide the neighborhood with exotic teas, locally roasted coffee, and fresh produce. By doing this, we hope to provide a dining experience that evokes nostalgia of old New Orleans.

We enjoyed our dinner. Standouts were the crab beignets and the turtle bolognese. The cocktails were also well made. Service was excellent. We would definitely return.

The food, ambiance and service were excellent. We started with the Crabmeat Beignets and Scallops, both excellent. I had the hamburger and my dining partner had the shrimp and grits. We recommend both, with the burger being one of the best I have ever had. The Sweet Corn and Blueberry Ice Cream Cake has potential, but the cake layer was too frozen to cut easily. Overall it was a great dining experience and would highly recommend with confidence.

Very pleasant waitresses. Food was very good. Lunch meeting with three people at the table. Two appetizers. Flounder sandwich and a burger. Three desserts. Two unsweetened ice teas and one Diet Coke. Bill came to $130. Thought that was a bit much for a lunch. Food was good. Not as high on value for dollar for a lunch meal.

Too expensive the value not there if the plates had more pizzaz / upscale ingredients and/accompaniments could justify price.

Scallops were on point. Of course we tried the signature blue crab beignets and they were outstanding. The som recommended a new fave bottle of rose. Pork chops were thin but AWESOME! Fish was great... and the bitter greens with blue cheese sauce was rolling. Good service, they made sure to bring a dessert for the b day at the table - homemade watermelon sorbet was best sorbet I have ever had. Highly recommend after our first time.

Everything was so very wonderful!!! My date and I enjoyed our entire meal experience, from the scallop appetizers to each of our entrees: the turtle entree and the black drum special!!! Our dessert (Chess pie) was phenomenal and so delicious!!! We will return for another delicious experience in the very near future!!!!

The food was REALLY REALLY GOOD!
The reputation definitely precedes this place.
Get the crab beignets
Get the burger. Beat I’ve had
Get the shellfish stew
Get the clams

You will not regret any of these. So full of flavor, and character.

We had a table of 8. Everyone ordered something different and all of us enjoyed everything. The menu is varied- something for everyone, but not too large. Service was excellent and the place had a great vibe. We loved it.

The Blue Crab beignets were stellar!!!

I also ordered the oyster and egg special that was offered for brunch...spectacular

I even enjoyed the light dressing that was sprinkled on the greens

I initially went for the Pisco Sour which was also excellent and ended up loving everything else about La Petite Grocery including the ambiance and the service.

Asia our server was also the best

A wonderful find in NOLA. Great food, lovely staff, beautiful little restaurant in a residential area. If you want a great spot out of the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter-check this place out! Lamb shank was delish.

A very interesting menu, including basic fares such as hamburger , but also much more refined and complicated dishes . I’m not sure all the combinations worked . My fish was perfectly cooked but the bed of lentils it was served on was over salted, ( and I tend to salt). Dessert was a tad too sugary for me . But still a must to try great cuisine

Listed by NOLA as one of the top 10 restaurants. I was not disappointed. Superb restaurant with great ambience, attentive service and exquisite food.
The scallop appetizer could easily be an entrée, and the Duck Breast with kale was stellar.
Highly recommend this restaurant.

A delightful place to meet friends or to entertain guests. The service is always friendly and the food doesn’t disappoint.
The dining room is very attractive gives a feeling of a converted (renovated) southern cottage. It’s one of our favorites..especially for a ladies luncheon.

It was my bday but they were not attentive that we were celebrating and actually ended up forgetting - the stew super salty I guess the pot licking had to much salt - the blue crab beignets were to die for

This is a difficult review to write. We want all restaurants to serve "home run" experiences. The appetizers (green bean salad and mussels) were delicious. The deserts (chocolate chess and special cheesecake) were delicious. However, the swordfish was too salty and the side grains/mushroom was uninteresting. My companion's order of Shrimp and Grits was misunderstood (energetic noise level) and the Shellfish Stew was served which was just ok with a very thin broth. We don't feel comfortable sending a dish back but maybe we should have. Anyway, we wish you the best.

The crab beignets were wonderful, as usual! Our table shared the appetizer. Our waitress did not rush us to order and had answers to our questions, offering suggestions too!
Two people in our party had never eaten here. One was especially excited because it was on her list of best places to eat!
It’s always a great meal. Never disappoints!!

I brought a friend here for Restaurant Week as he'd never been to this restaurant. It was by far the best Restaurant Week experience of the 3 (all different type places) for this week. Our food was excellent, service was great and overall a good value. Beyond Restaurant Week, La Petite Grocery is a wonderful restaurant.

With a group of 3. We each had the restaurant week lunch specials. The tomato soup was outstanding and the shrimp creole should be a standard menu item. Great stuff.
