La Perla Café is a family owned restaurant in Phoenix that has been serving Mexican food since 1946. The restaurant started as a small dining room that offered a simple menu of enchiladas, burritos, tacos and tostadas. Today, guests can choose many other dishes like chili rellenos, garlic shrimp and chicken mole. La Perla Café serves crispy tortilla chips and three types of salsas that guests can mix and match to their liking. The interior is quirky, decorated with items from throughout its 70 year history. There are live music performances regularly. La Perla also sells its tamales by the dozen to take home.
