   We sat in the rustic downstairs courtyard as it was still warm spring. We were astonished by the quality of the food and highly recommend at least 6 dishes. Top quality food

   Service perhaps a little bit hap dash at times. Got asked if we wanted the dessert menu after we’d had it, which seems a bit poor form in my opinion. Asked if we wanted water which was served, then a rather large break. Someone then came over and asked if we were ready to order, to which we said yes for food and drink. Very clearly stated that she was only taking the order for drinks, no inclination to get someone else to take the order, so waited a bit longer for that. But with that being said the food was stunning. Nicest olives I’ve had in this country by far and just generally delish. Shame service didn’t match the food but with that being said I’d definitely come again if in Bath

   La Perla is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant itself is beautiful aesthetically and the atmosphere is vibrant. The staff make you feel welcome from the second you step through the door are friendly, polite and attentive. The menu offers a good variety of meat and seafood dishes alongside the classics such as tortillas and croquettes. The actual food is amazing! Well cooked and delicious.

   I always considered this to be one of our favourite restaurants in Bath, but this last visit was rather disappointing. The menu had changed recently and there were very few side order dishes now. Prawns with garlic and chillies were tasty (but no where near as good as usual) and I really wanted some mixed vegetables as a side (but the waitress explained that there are no variations to the menu, which was a surprise to me). Heritage tomato salad was very tasty and the mushrooms with garlic, but I really craved some greens! I'm pescatarian, but my husband had the ox cheeks (were good but too much apple sauce) and chorizo tortilla (which was OK), so all in all not the best experience we had. Service was great and it was midweek so quiet, but when I asked for a small glass of wine (125ml) again the waitress said this was not possible and you could only order the size on the menu. We are VIP card holders so would usually expect a 25% discount, but this didn't seem to be credited properly. We were given approx 15% off, so I didn't bother to argue. But we came out feeling a little rejected, especially as we'd let Frederick the owner know that we were celebrating our anniversary. We did get the best table in the house though, so that was something! Thanks anyway, but wanted to give our honest opinion of our evening.

   We had a fabulous meal at La Perla for our Anniversary, it was difficult to understand what to order and how much but the waiter was very helpful in explaining that we choose a selection and add some more after if we needed to. Everything was cooked well and each dish was very tasty, would recommend if you're in Bath

   The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the staff were helpful and friendly. However we didn’t think the food was worth the price we paid. There is a tomato salad on the menu that cost nearly £10, we expected quite a large dish for this price only to be served what looked like 2 tomatoes cut up on the plate. The ambience there is lovely, I just wish the food was better.

    Staff were lovely and food was good. Went on Mother's Day and while it was busy, didn't feel cramped or rushed. Only limitation is the access to the restaurant is down some steep stone stairs that are quite narrow. Not possible to get a buggy or mobility aid or anything down which is just something to be aware of. Staff were on hand to assist with the stairs if needed.
