Located in the vaults of a historic building in the city of Bath, La Perla was established in 2011. We envisioned a place where our guests could make a visit to Spain without leaving Bath, bringing back memories as well as creating new ones, through a journey where the flavours hold the key.

Experience the authentic flavours of Spain at La Perla with our renowned Rib Eye Steak Paella Rubia Gallega is a breed of cattle indigenous to Galicia. This beef is produced exclusively from this breed. The beef graze on the meadows of Galicia for up to 8-12 years where they grow big and fat and put on layers of marbled fat. This gives the beef an extraordinary flavour, an intense beefy-ness and succulence brought about by the high marbling of the meat. The consensus used to be that old means tough, but this beef is dry aged which not only further intensifies the flavour but also tenderises the meat.

The Chef is over rated & perhaps know to cook paella but none of the other dishes were outstanding . Beef Croquets was full of potatoes or béchamel sauce. Chilli prawns were immersed in cheap oil & unfrozen prawns. The Chef thinks his food is excellent so there is no room for him to improve with such mentality. Good Luck to the owner/s,

This is not the La Perla I used to eat in. I'm guessing it has changed ownership. The food is just average and the crema Catalana was one of the worst I've ever had we left most of it but we're not asked if there was anything wrong. The pigs cheek was good and the truffles were excellent but not enough for me to ever be back.

The staff were really attentive, however the food was a bit of a let down, when it arrived it looked fantastic, however, it was hardly warm (not quite cold) but very near. We advised the waiter and he didn't apologise or anything, he just said he would speak to the chef! No further acknowledgment was given.

Service was attentive but had to ask for ice for sparkling water and found the potatas bravado a little oily ..food was tasty

The service was very good. The taste was a bit more smokey than my preferences but the dishes were different than other spanish restaurants. I would like to try the fish plates another time.

A fantastic meal- the ambience was incredible, the staff were friendly and attentive and the food was phenomenal. A must visit for those in Bath.
