Our for bowls of soup arrived cold and had to be sent back. Then we had a very long wait for 3 "fast burgers" and a grilled cheese sandwich -- our reservation was for 6:00, and we arrived on time. We were served our sandwiches at about 7:20, ten minutes before the show we came to see was about to begin. The sandwiches were just OK. The soup was pretty good, once it was heated up.
Perfect place for a date night or grabbing drinks with friends. Definitely, not a place to take your family on a Friday or Saturday night, as it's definitely not an Applebees or THI Fridays environment...it's way more upscale and all of the food is served absolutely fresh and very delicious. Im.looking forward to many more dinners here. Compliments to the chef and staff. They should be proud of what they've created here.
I was slightly disappointed that our food took so long to come out, when we only ordered burgers and a vegetable dish. My bun was burnt and the vegetable dish was $20 for about 10 pieces of vegetable in a pan.
The waitress was quick and at tentative! The Thai mussels were awesome and we had to dip the bread in the sauce. Desserts were great also! Fried chicken and baby back ribs were delicious.
Great food, great atmosphere. Nice on a warm spring or summer day. Waiter was super friendly and attentive.
We arrived early to eat before a baseball game. It was very quiet, and our service attentive. The entrees were very fresh tasting and ample. The brownie dessert is fabulous, but the three small brownies are not small at all, very generous for the price.
Great food! Some interesting twists on simple ideas.
Reserved a table for Mother's Day Brunch. Boring bland food, missing items on table, out of food/drink on menu, waiter seem to be half asleep. They called me day before to make sure I would would be on time. We were on time but they were late. Waiter didn't come over for at least 10mins. Never received spoons for our coffee. No scrapple no baileys. You would think for mothers day they would have their stuff together but that was not the case. Omelet looked like it was a frozen/microwave meal from the grocery store. Eggs bendict was so bland. Blood marys were terrible. The only thing that was good was the bread and the place itself. Industrial atmosphere but I will not be coming back for any food!!!
I love the little corner table (I think its # 113) at La Peg. You get a view of the whole restaurant and bar and it is fantastic for people watching. The food was good, as always and the service was friendly and attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend to my family & friends.
The food was amazing, and the service was even better. I highly recommend this place. It has a fun energetic vibe.
Food: meh. Drinks: yep. Spot: dope. Price: feh! Me: eh...
I called and had them write a note to my friend- they more than happily obliged.
Beyond that, they made my guest and I feel welcomed and left us with a smile.
The service was great! I got the fried chicken and it was the blandest fried chicken I've ever had, the Sriracha honey barely saved it. The potato salad tasted like the potatoes were not cooked long enough and I do not think I will be back for dinner.
Ribs were awful. Salmon was average. Asparagus was ok. Portion size very small.
We enjoyed our food and the server, Iman, was great. La Peg sits next to the Holiday Inn and made the stay that much more comfortable.
La Peg has been better. And though I would recommend, it would come with qualifiers like, "jammed packed seating," "too relaxed service," etc. And, "food is really good". Given that one goes to a restaurant for food, go.
Came to La Peg for brunch before a show in the theater. Loved our table in the window and the noise level was low, even with many customers (and kiddos). Service was on the slow side for things like drink refills. One guest at our table asked about brunch cocktails and was told, "The usual brunch options." When they asked how the bloody mary was, server replied, "Good as far as bloody mary's go." hmmm -- that's not to helpful. And the bloody mary was actually spicy and delicious.
The food was delicious. The service was fast and attentive. Very friendly atmosphere. The only negative was the noise level but the food was worth it.
Three of us had dinner at La Peg prior to a Fringe show. We all had either vegan or seafood based
food and all selections were delicious as was the wonderful crusty bread offered with the meal. The passion fruit mojitos were also great. Only complaint was that the raw oysters priced at $3.00 each were not only extremely tiny but were stuck to their shells and turned to total mush when we attempted to spear them with a fork. A half dozen came to $18 and was a total waste of money. Other than that, everything was great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
I’ve been a regular of La Peg since it first opened. The pasta special the night I dined there was fresh pappardelle with a pork and short rib of beef ragu, and all three in my party opted for it. The special was outstanding!
Service was uniformly excellent.
Roast chicken had been nuked making the skin, which looked crisp, flabby. My soup course was rudely shoved out of the way bt the server when the entree arrived. Wont return
It was amazing!
I've enjoyed La Peg the few times we've been there so I can only assume they have a new chef based on our last experience. 5 diners ordered 5 different entrees and only 1 felt the meal was good and it was a cheeseburger. Everything else was very mediocre (crab cakes, turkey dinner, the special) or even bad (pork slider). The cheese curds are still great but really that was the only thing that was good. I'll wait to hear if anyone I know eats there in the future and what kind of a meal they had before I decide whether or not I'll go back again.
Great service; interesting decor in a former water pump station~
Bar service was poor. I was never asked/offered to see a food menu. Service at table was excellent but I felt the food to be of very small portions, poor taste and quality of food.
We had a 9:45pm reservation and our server kind of rushed us through our meal. The food was just okay, meaning one step above being nasty. I ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer, it was more like breaded crab meat with little seasoning on a bed of root vegetables and a weird cream sauce. It tasted okay, but I would NOT call it a crab cake. I asked our waiter if I could substitute the quinoa and squash for mash potatoes with my salmon. And that’s what I got, a plate of mash potatoes and salmon, he took it upon himself to exclude everything else from my plate (side salad and sauce for the salmon)! I could tell he really wanted to finish up an go home, so did I at that point. But my boyfriend pointed it out to him and he comped our beers which was nice. Overall, I would probably only go back for beers in the summer when the beer garden is open but that’s it. The food is pretty mediocre. I live in New York and took my boyfriend to philly for Valentine’s Day weekend as a surprise. The service killed the experience for sure.
Had a pleasant meal here. Cheeseboard was good, wine was excellent, I enjoyed the burger and my wife loved the fish. Would come here again.
I always enjoy everytime we go to La Peg. They have a very interesting and unique mix drink menu (I had the Apple Jack and the rest of my table change to it after the first round of drinks because it was so good). I love their pot roast and always substitute fingerling potatoes for their mashed potatoes, I have a slight addiction to them. My husband had the cauliflower steaks which are his favorite and the others had the burgers. Always a solid and consistent place to eat
Great restaurant attached to a fun entertainment venue. Ideal for popping in and out of the comedy festival.
Entrees were a bit small
Service was a bit slow, large gaps of time between dishes. Other than that, still very elegant.
Very good atmosphere. It was a great date night. Food and service were good.
I've been wanting to try La Peg for dinner for awhile. I attended a breakfast meet in here and the food was very good. The dinner didn't disappoint! The ambience was romantic. We asked to sit by the window and were accommodated. Our reservation was 5:30 so it wasn't crowded. It became crowded as we were leaving. We chose the restaurant week menu. The sunchoke soup was delicious! The portion was very small. It was vegetarian with a subtle flavor and fried artichokes on top. The kale salad had fresh greens and lots of pomegranate seeds, cashews and oranges. The dressing was very light and flavorful. The crab called good. There was crab meat but it was stringy not lump crab cake. It was ok for restaurant week prices but I would've been disappointed if I paid full price. The salmon was cooked perfectly. It was flavorful without a lot of sauce. The couscous was also good. The pot roast was delicious too. It had a lot of flavor. It headwinds dinner upgraded! Desserts were also tasty. The s'mores bread pudding was so.good with chocolate and toasted marshmallow on top. The pears macerated with bourbon were light with the right touch of sweet to end a big meal. Service was outstanding! Our waiter Clayton was pleasant, helpful and.attentive. Brandol one of the busboys made sure plates were cleared quickly, water filled and questions were answered. He was polite but friendly.
Great service, great food, great time! A group of us went to La Peg during Restaurant for lunch. We were greeted warmly and advised of the specials as well as personal favorites. The pace and atmosphere are casual, but the food was not! Sophisticated menu and choices, but not pretentious. Everyone of enjoyed every bite. We all agreed that we would return and what a nice time we had. Thanks for the great experience.
Food was outstanding. So was the service. Our waiter also took the time to show us the venue and explain the history of the Fringe Arts building.
Dinner was four courses of wonderful. The staff were so helpful and so nice to our friend who was celebrating her birthday. We will definitely return.
The cuisine was excellent! Seating was quick. The staff were friendly and attentive. I indulged in the Pot Roast which was the best I have ever had. The Paloma cocktail was a little harsh going down. Seating can be a little tight but the staff will gladly accommodate you. I'll rate my experience at La Peg a 10 because I have no real complaints.
Great space, Chris was an attentive & knowledgable server, pot roast & sunchoke soup delicious. We’ll be back.
Cool ambiance and food was on point (restaurant week menu). Drinks were ok. Clayton our server was excellent offering some good suggestions. Will definitely return.
