Oysters on the Half Shell - Delaware Bay (NJ) / Mystics (CT)
served with mignonette, lemon
Outdoor seating was nice but pretty noisy due to traffic and trains nearby. The oysters were great but we were disappointed by our entrees which came out cool and just didn’t taste worth the price.
Really delicious food and a great show/dining experience. Oysters were fabulous even out of season!
The menu is very limited. I would return if they had more variety.
Great atmosphere, the view on the outside seating was great during the sun down hours and night. Food was good and overall prices were good for the service and taste. Would recommend this place. First time in Philli and would definitely come back to this spot.
I enjoyed dinner with my girlfriend at La Peg. We selected outdoor dining which was so perfect since it was a beautiful summer evening. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. Food was really good. It’s not my first visit and it wouldn’t be my last.
The food was not prepared or prepped properly. Textures were off, portions sizes such as the thinness of the steak and soggy wings, were really a let down. The wait times for food was really bad, it appeared all other tables got bread and butter baskets? The Green beans weren’t trimmed the inedible tips and stalks were still attached, same with the snow peas. Very disappointing, I doubt I’ll ever be back.
My granddaughter and I ordered the Pub burger which was juicy and delicious. Fries were very tasty. My other granddaughter had the beet salad which she also enjoyed. My husband had the mussels and enjoyed that along with his martini. Don't even get me started on the mango cheesecake. Outstanding!
The staff was friendly but the waiter wasn’t good. We had to ask him multiple times for bread, ice, and silverware. He also forgot to put in some of our order. There wasn’t many menu options and the food was extremely bland. The drinks weren’t good either. I wouldn’t give them another try
The food was decent, and our waitress was fantastic.
BUT we showed up at 6:30 (2 people) and the restaurant was essentially empty, and the hostess sat us directly next to (not even a foot apart) from the only other people in the restaurant.
We then asked to move down further, and she placed us one table over (hesitantly) and 5 minutes later… proceeded to sit 2 more couples DIRECTLY next to us on either side…while the rest of the restaurant was empty. I mean cmon….
I always love coming here. The building is so unique and has finally met its destiny (having seen it languish for so many years as an abandoned water dept structure). The food is very good and I'm enjoying the new menu. I tend to lean toward lighter fare and I enjoyed the mushroom toast and grilled shrimp. The service was excellent and the drink options were also intriguing. I went with the Aperol Spritz this time around.
Food was delicious. Service was very slow. Very frustrating when half the table is finished their food before the other half gets theirs. Def a staff shortage
I put one on Google. I was super dissatisfied and disappointed.
Pros: cool location that's great for seeing the scenic waterfront and people watching. Would be great for just drinks and bar food. Cons: meh entree: overcooked salmon, icy cold unappealing quinoa salad, almost zero promised vegetables.
Great spot across from Penn's Landing--fabulous food, drinks, architecture and decor.
Very limited menu. Food overpriced. No close parking
It was great to be back here!
They are rallying back and working out the kinks so the menu is limited; but the food and service were excellent.
It was great!
Chicken was served raw, was charged $1.00 to substitute mashed potatoes for French fries, server seemed annoyed by everything. Disappointing birthday dinner.
Service by Gianna was great! Felt like I was on vacation. Great atmosphere, convenient parking close by. Service was attentive and friendly. Recommendations provided was very helpful when it came to trying certain beers I was unsure.
Great location to stop for a drink and a bite to eat outside with views of the Ben Franklin Bridge.
Great food, great atmosphere, parking convenient nearby and service was attentive and friendly. River trails close by for nice walk after dinner. Recommend La Peg.
It was s great experience next to the water front with great views and great service.
Our server was great
Servers were very friendly and even had dog treats for our puppy. Fast food burger, fries and the passion fruit mango mojito were the highlights of our meal. The octopus was a little too soft and the creme brûlée was overdone (basically sweet scrambled eggs with burnt sugar). Mango water ice was just ok. The views and the staff made up for the somewhat average and overpriced food. Would definitely come back for a burger, fries and cocktail
Loved the outdoor space, delicious drinks and food. The smoked salmon app and short rib sandwich are highly recommended
We enjoyed a fine selection of small plates, wine and craft beers
Bartender needs support to be attentive to all guests.
The asparagus Vichyssoise was outstanding- perfect for a hot day!
We're former service industry workers, longtime patrons, and supporters of La Peg, Fringe, and the overall mission of the establishment. We've been excited to return to one of our favorite restaurants post-pandemic. Unfortunately, we're very disappointed. The service was one of the worst experiences we've had in many years of Philadelphia dining; the waiter was inattentive and spent more time flirting with patrons at other tables than actually working his section. When, after witnessing multiple other tables receive their drinks and food long before we were served, we asked if anything was wrong. The waiter had little by way of answers and the manager eventually comped a round of drinks...but only after we had to physically enter the restaurant and inquire why we had waited nearly 90 minutes for our meal. We know that re-entry post-pandemic is tough, but this would have been an easy fix: comp the meal, offer an apology, and welcome us back. As it stands, we won't be patrons for a while. Under new management? Unclear, but in the meantime, understaffed and underwhelming.
Since we were celebrating our anniversary, the server brought us two champagne flutes on the house. Quite classy, but then he brought us drinks without straws or napkins. The beet salad was innovative and tasty, but the burger was over cooked and unremarkable, accompanied by fries that we both decided to pass on. I read reviews and booked the reservation based on someone’s recommendation. Unfortunately, there’s a bit of false advertising. It’s disingenuous to call it a beer garden when the beer selection is limited. Moreover, it’s not on the water. It’s across the street- a large, highly trafficked highway kind of street. After driving into Philly and looking forward to a special dining experience, we were quite disappointed.
Excellent prices, service, and staff. Relaxing gem.
The food was outstanding, as usual. The Wild Cape Cod oysters and the mushroom risotto were so delicious!
Very nice venue.
Great time !!!!
Firstly the host was inviting and glowed with a warm friendliness. Secondly my server was absolutely wonderful and very helpful when it came to trying certain things I was unsure about on the menu. The pork belly with the asparagus was phenomenal. Usually you get caught up thinking the pork belly would be very fatty but nope! The perfect ratio I’m not sure if it’s the quality of the meat. Or the quality of the folks they have behind that line but regardless everything was phenomenal. An actual MEDIUM RARE steak. Not medium well not rare. The oysters are to die for I personally liked mystics over the blue points. I’ll definitely be back.
The food is okay and manager she stared too much n didn’t come over to see how we were doing.
Wonderful food and kind service. Plus beautiful bridge view. They were so accommodating of my dog at our outside table which meant a lot to me. Wish there were more tables in the shade but hey, that’s Philly summer for you. Thanks LaPeg!
Outdoor beer garden was great and very energetic and nice views. Good menu options. Cocktails were good but a little pricy. Fun environment for happy hour.
This was a great spot for lunch. All small-ish plates (plus a couple of burgers) that are great to share.
Good food,it was late Friday evening around 10:45PM The kitchen closed at 11 PM , I had to think quick , luckily I. was in the mood for something lite so I had the creme brûlée and fries. To drink I had passion fruit and mango mojito(very delicious, my most favorite out of the three drinks I had) , tequila honeysuckle( it was strong which was great it my least favorite out of the drinks I had though ) , and lemon water ice with tequila (my second favorite it was a nice treat and it was the perfect night for it) . Great views , nice service . Will visit again .
