Loved the building. Trendy. Would have tried the Biergarten but it took us too long to find parking. Absolutely fabulous waiter. But… almost everything was over cooked. Charred pub burger - so overdone parts were crunchy. Cheese curds so over fried, actually the bread coatings were black, that even the waiter mentioned it. Pork chop over cooked too. The funny thing was that the Brussel sprouts were actually undercooked and hard. It’s a fun atmosphere, great setting, and if we were in Philly more often we’d probably try to give them another chance.
Sat outside great corner under Ben Franklin bridge with lots going on. Kids loved their food and had some yard games to play with to keep them occupied. Wine was inexpensive and my whiskey had a heavy pour. Nice people too. Awesome ribeye and muscles
Overall experience was great!! There was an event going on by another company that shares space with La Peg which made things uncomfortable for a second for my wife and I but they rectified everything! This was our second time there and we will be returning!
Great bread, food, and great service.
The food and service was outstanding and it is always a great experience.
Went here on a first date and the staff was incredible. The host who sat us was very friendly. He knew it was a first date and came over a few times to check in and was very welcoming. We both had salmon for dinner, it was cooked medium rare/rare which we were not used to. The waitress was very understanding and friendly when we sent it back and brought out the replacements very quickly. The salmon dish was delish as well as both of our appetizers (oysters and grilled octopus).
Great dining experience! Delicious food.
The food came out burnt and my friend's appetizer and meal came out at the same time. I rarely complain; however, this meal was not edible. They did adjust the bill, but the damage had already been done.
Limited but excellent menu. I had the pork with lentils (which were marvelous) and my wife had the steak.
And a very good whiskey recommended by our waiter!
Great ambiance. Our server Nicole was helpful and knowledgeable of the menu and the venue. Great food!
Great food and drinks. Service was also great. Will go back,
The owner (or manager) made last nights celebration for my friends birthday wonderful. They were so respectful of concerns during COVID and handled everything perfectly. We will absolutely be coming back!
Food was just, eh. The pickle plate was the most lack luster dish I have ever seen. It looked like a plate of burger toppings schlepped together and tasted how it looked. Server was unenthusiastic and suggested nothing when prompted. Love the location and the space and wanted to shrug off the service part but it over all just felt sad.
Good food, portions were large, we were sitting outside and the noise level was variable: when a train went by it was surprising loud, but otherwise not bad.
The food was extremely salty - neither of us could finish our meals due to that. We also had a very unpleasant experience with both the server and the manager when we tried to ask for a glass of wine to be taken off the bill as the entire glass spilled on the table. I was told that it “wasn’t their fault” and that “I should be more careful in the future”.
It was $98 for two of us to dine, we weren’t looking for a handout - we just thought the restaurant believed in common courtesy.
Either way, there are plenty of amazing restaurants in the city, so I have no reason to ever return to this one.
We usually have great time at Le Peg - this was different 🙁
Sitting outside is beautiful but be prepared for super loud people, cars, and motorcycles to interrupt your conversations. I didn’t mind but I could definitely tell it would be a problem in something like a date. The foods incredible and I will absolutely come back. Have fun!
Nice place, good food, great service! Would go back!
The mushroom risotto was the worst I’ve ever had, it came out barely warm, tasted like rice mixed with dry mix sauce and was watery.. no one ever asked us how the food was and the service was very slow. We also got seating outside only, which was very loud from the street and bridge traffic.
Outdoor seating was nice but pretty noisy due to traffic and trains nearby. The oysters were great but we were disappointed by our entrees which came out cool and just didn’t taste worth the price.
This location is right under the Ben Franklin bridge so it can be a little noisy... otherwise the vibe is nice. The food is good & they have awesome wines to choose from.
Really delicious food and a great show/dining experience. Oysters were fabulous even out of season!
The menu is very limited. I would return if they had more variety.
Great atmosphere, the view on the outside seating was great during the sun down hours and night. Food was good and overall prices were good for the service and taste. Would recommend this place. First time in Philli and would definitely come back to this spot.
I enjoyed dinner with my girlfriend at La Peg. We selected outdoor dining which was so perfect since it was a beautiful summer evening. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. Food was really good. It’s not my first visit and it wouldn’t be my last.
The food was not prepared or prepped properly. Textures were off, portions sizes such as the thinness of the steak and soggy wings, were really a let down. The wait times for food was really bad, it appeared all other tables got bread and butter baskets? The Green beans weren’t trimmed the inedible tips and stalks were still attached, same with the snow peas. Very disappointing, I doubt I’ll ever be back.
My granddaughter and I ordered the Pub burger which was juicy and delicious. Fries were very tasty. My other granddaughter had the beet salad which she also enjoyed. My husband had the mussels and enjoyed that along with his martini. Don't even get me started on the mango cheesecake. Outstanding!
The staff was friendly but the waiter wasn’t good. We had to ask him multiple times for bread, ice, and silverware. He also forgot to put in some of our order. There wasn’t many menu options and the food was extremely bland. The drinks weren’t good either. I wouldn’t give them another try
The food was decent, and our waitress was fantastic.
BUT we showed up at 6:30 (2 people) and the restaurant was essentially empty, and the hostess sat us directly next to (not even a foot apart) from the only other people in the restaurant.
We then asked to move down further, and she placed us one table over (hesitantly) and 5 minutes later… proceeded to sit 2 more couples DIRECTLY next to us on either side…while the rest of the restaurant was empty. I mean cmon….
I always love coming here. The building is so unique and has finally met its destiny (having seen it languish for so many years as an abandoned water dept structure). The food is very good and I'm enjoying the new menu. I tend to lean toward lighter fare and I enjoyed the mushroom toast and grilled shrimp. The service was excellent and the drink options were also intriguing. I went with the Aperol Spritz this time around.
Food was delicious. Service was very slow. Very frustrating when half the table is finished their food before the other half gets theirs. Def a staff shortage
I put one on Google. I was super dissatisfied and disappointed.
Pros: cool location that's great for seeing the scenic waterfront and people watching. Would be great for just drinks and bar food. Cons: meh entree: overcooked salmon, icy cold unappealing quinoa salad, almost zero promised vegetables.
Great spot across from Penn's Landing--fabulous food, drinks, architecture and decor.
Very limited menu. Food overpriced. No close parking
It was great to be back here!
They are rallying back and working out the kinks so the menu is limited; but the food and service were excellent.
Great outdoor dining in Olde City.
Great service & delicious food.
We will be back!
It was great!
Chicken was served raw, was charged $1.00 to substitute mashed potatoes for French fries, server seemed annoyed by everything. Disappointing birthday dinner.
Service by Gianna was great! Felt like I was on vacation. Great atmosphere, convenient parking close by. Service was attentive and friendly. Recommendations provided was very helpful when it came to trying certain beers I was unsure.
