Was wonderful as usual! A great neighborhood restaurant with fabulous food. Never disappoints! Everything on the menu is so good. And a great wine selection too, reasonably priced. And the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Love this restaurant!!
Great service and food. But really really noisy.
Great service, ambiance and food! Really enjoyed it.
Excellent pasta dishes. Friendly waitress & VG support staffers.
Outdoor seating, nice restaurant-brand rose, outstanding pasta, including a special, reasonably priced, friendly knowledgeable service...we'll...be...BACK!
Very bad service. Food was cold.
The food, drinks, and ambiance were all amazing! Unfortunately we had a very cranky server who immediately told us that she was “on the verge of a mental breakdown.” We knew it was going to be downhill from there. We had finished our appetizer before our drinks arrived. She never checked on us when our entrees arrived, never asked if we wanted more drinks, and when it was time to cash out I literally had to chance her down.
I would never normally post such a review but I feel like the owners and management team should know how their establishment is being represented.
Otherwise everything was excellent and we will absolutely come back.
The quality was not great for the price. We were offered ice to cool wine.
Food was great and the restaurant is beautiful, but service was very slow.
lively atmosphere and good menu, very tasty and a range of excellent drinks. Youngish crowd tends to talk really loudly, so not the best place for a relaxed conversation. But worth the visit!
Food very good, especially the pasta carbonara special that night. House white wine interesting, dry but floral. Love the 1.5 glass option. Size just right. Service fine. Staff honored request for quiet table. It was the best - tucked away in a comfortable corner. Altho the place is high volume, crowded, with long lines for bathroom, will return for sure. Free street parking in the area available after 7 PM.
Very pleasant service. The Dorado was excellent although there were a few bones in it. The pasta was also very good. Portions were ok but the fish for 28 could have had a bit more "vegetable accompaniers".
Best Italian food I’ve had in Manhattan. Grilled octopus weans, olives, radicchio complex, nicely charred and dressed with excellent vinaigrette Ravioli light and creamy green salad well dressed a delight all round. Sat outside so picked up street noise but still easier to hear than in very flattery interior. Good thoughtful service. Price not bad at all.
Food and service was all wonderful! Pasta is delicious
As well as the Nomad and new location being built. Favorite Italian in Manhattan.
Waiter was extremely rude and made us feel unwelcome. Can’t help it that we look “foreign “ and he put us in our place for that.
This is one of my new favorite restaurants in NYC. Is a little bit of a walk from the train but not bad. Restaurant is airy and has big windows to let in the sunshine. We were a group of six that attended for my mothers graduation. The appetizers are a good size - six people got two of three appetizers and we were good! The pastas were all cooked perfectly and our waiter was polite and helpful and always present. Amazing.
Always Fabulous! My favorite "Go To" neighborhood eatery.
Lovely food, well trained staff, but very noisy. Would definitely go again, but not with anyone who has a hearing problem.
Best Riasted Cauliflower anywhere. Good Mediterranean food.
Amazing pasta, high-quality ingredients, trendy restaurant. I liked the cauliflower appetizer - if you like simple dishes, the pasta with tomato sauce is out of this world!
Beautifully decorated restaurant in a good neighborhood. Food and wine were both delicious!
The service was not good. Completely inflexible in very minor menu modifications. The wine glasses were dirty. The server took forever to grab some ketchup and water, but managed to get the check to me immediately. The burger, which I had eaten on a previous occasion in the NoMad location, was very underwhelming. I had been to the NoMad location before and loved it. It’s a shame that this experience was so disappointing.
La Pecora Bianca is easily one of my favorite restaurants. The food is primary reason for my 5 star review. My husband and I have been to the midtown location on several occasions, and have tried many of the main dishes, side dishes, appetizers, and deserts. Everything I've tasted has been delicious and thoughtfully prepared. One thing that I particularly appreciate, is the fact that nothing on the menu appears to 'try too hard.' They don't throw in trendy garnishes/or overly quirky combinations that could compromise the balance of the dish, or potentially deter the timid diner.
-Main: The Swordfish (w/citrus, roasted fennel, peperonata) is outstanding. This is a perfect example of delicately harmonious flavors. I'm quite particular with ocean fare, and usually go for steak. This is my absolute favorite main. The portion is perfect, even generous.
-Side: The Brussels Sprouts (w/rosemary honey, lemon, chili flakes) are unbelievably delicious. They are a must-order item (note: this is not a light dish. They are likely pan-fried in oil, and broiled for a crispy exterior). The portion is generous, and perfect to share.
I would like to mention that the service could use help. The hostess was not very pleasant. We had a 7:30 reservation (it was not busy yet). She seated us without pleasantries. There was a wide smear of oil on the seat and it was quite loud inside, so we decided to sit outside. We approached the hostess and she held up her hand, presumably to indicate for us to wait. She was brisk and irritable when we asked to be reseated outside (which only had one occupied table). Our waiter was very pleasant, but slow with bringing our drinks/refilling water throughout the meal. It did get quite busy by 8/8:30 pm, so It's possible they were a bit understaffed by then. I should also mention that the music in the restaurant is too loud, and poorly matched to the ambiance and clientele (it would be more appropriate for a bar than a restaurant).
Enjoyed the food and the ambiance of the restaurant. However, can’t say the same for the Italian waitress we had. Had a snobby attitude from the start not sure for what reason. Wouldn’t even crack a smile.
Service was awful!! We ordered salads and waters and it took almost 2 hours to get our food, eat, get the check, etc
The food is always great and you can't beat the service.
Unexpected and very tasty menu. Brussels sprouts were delish but deep fried. Swordfish outstanding but topping was sweet. If you’re on sugar restriction best to ask. Wait staff was outstanding. Noise was over the top l, subway level loud. Expect to talk at a yell.
Loved this restaurant. Food was very good and the service was outstanding!
Only complaint: Very noisy:(
This is an attractive and bustling restaurant, and both the food and the drinks were excellent. Staff was pleasant, attentive, and efficient. The high noise level made the experience less enjoyable however. Please install noise reduction ceiling material at the very least.
Great food and atmosphere
The cheerful bright atmosphere was refreshing, and not what one would expect for a restaurant serving such really delicious food, with excellent service. The menu is interesting , and again not what
you would expect in that location. So all in all we felt we had discovered something very special.
Service was very slow.
Bright and inviting space with fresh food. Wait staff was very discreet and did not hurry us even as we lingered while catching up with family.
The swordfish entree and the farro salad were delicious! The music was just right for the dinner time meal. The staff was accommodating and very pleasant. We would certainly come again!
This is a beautiful restaurant. The decor and lighting are perfect. Service is excellent. They specialize in homemade pastas which are delicious.
We’ve eaten at La Pecora a number of times as we live in the neighborhood. On this occasion we took out of town visitors and had a great experience! The food is always excellent and well-priced. The servers can have a bit of a ‘tude and sometimes forget about you after your food has been served. That could be an understaffing issue though. The ambience is great albeit a bit noisy when the restaurant is full. Highly recommend the meatball appetizer, the kale salad, any pasta and the fish entrees. Continues to be a go-to for us!
Loved it! But lunch service was very slow, wouldn't recommend if you're on a schedule.
Great place for top notice homemade pasta.
I went to Pecora Bianca twice this week and while the food was very good the service was regrettably poor. The first time, for dinner, it was as if the servers had forgotten about our table, the service was slow and they forgot to bring out a dish. The second time, I went for lunch and again the service was very slow. I don’t know if they are short staffed or if the kitchen isn’t functioning correctly but I hope they sort it out because it’s a great addition to the neighborhood and the one in NoMad is fantastic.
