Nice setting for casual Italian meal.
Tried the ricotta and spinach
Balls - excellent! ( can’t recall the name of them)
Jennifer an outstanding server.
Some trouble finding parking. Near downtown if you want to walk around.
The service was really great! The portion are very generous and delicious.. BYOB and great for families.
First time dining here - our waiter was so
Pleasant so enjoyable because of him.
La Pastaria is always amazing! Great food, service, and always have a great time here!
The owner is very hands on and welcomes everybody. Saturday nights are crazy and it did take our server an unacceptably long time to come over but once she did, all went smoothly. Things get quieter after 9pm so be prepared for the noise level. The food is excellent and it’s byob. We have been here a few times and will continue to recommend it and return. First timers should think about a midweek visit to really experience the ambience.
The service is really poor , I felt disappointed because because We’re the only person who didn’t the proper attendance, I was looking around all the time to see if other people was getting attendance and guess what ? They got it , the owner and the waitress was nice with everyone but us , I don’t know if is because I was the only person of color on that place, who knows? But my feeling was this , but look for the bright side, there is a lot others restaurants to go to !
The noise level was much too noisy for pleasant dining
WAITRESS WAS NOT OVERLY FRIENDLY, SEEMED TO BE RUSHED, FOOD IS ALWAYS GOOD BUT TWO SALADS CAME WITHOUT ANY DRESSING AND HAD TO BE RE DRESSED, FOOD ALSO CAME OUT A LITTLE TOO FAST.
Good food and great service !!
food was delish, served at the perfect temperature and plenty per person. Choc mousse cake was great, ice cream was plain and overpriced. Would choose one of the many other deserts next time.
We were there recently and had issues. We decided to go back and try again. We ordered a corn chowder soup an La Pasteria salad. Soup was delicious and so was salad.
Our entrees were potato encrusted grouper and sunday sauce. Again food was delicious. Portions were decent and we received great service. We will go back.
It can get very noisy when they are busy. It is a byob.
Wonderful place to relax and have a good meal. I have never been disappointed in the over 25 years I have been patronizing the two restaurants in both Summit and Red Bank. My wife always orders the same dish (Cavatelli and broccoli). I am always a bit more adventurous and on the lookout for the varied specials on the menu, while I am simultaneously attacking those little delicious cubes of bread and dipping them in the olive oil and vinegar plate that arrives with the menus.
The family atmosphere on late Sunday afternoon just makes me feel like I am way back in time at my wife's great grandmothers house on Christmas Eve on Ridge Street- a cherished memory. Thank you!
Excellent food and service. Would definitely recommend and return.
Great food never disappointed
We traveled from suburban Philly to see the Remember Jones show at the Count Basie Theatre. We don’t know Red Bank but we will be back!
We had a 7pm reservation. At 820pm, we decided since we did not even receive an appetizer it was time to go
Later they took care of us and we will go back
Was looking forward to a nice dinner. We had a reservation and was seated right away (good). Waitress was friendly and professional and we ordered in short order. Our appetizers came quickly and were very good. Problem was we waited well over an hour for our meal along with many fellow diners many of whom walked out. We had nowhere to be so we stayed and joked around with the other diners who were waiting although some were pretty upset. When the food arrived it was hot and very good but at that point we were not really hungry so we brought most home. Although the waitress apologized (and it wasn't her fault) I think they should have taken the appetizers off the bill for those of us who patiently waited an absurd amount of time. It would have been a nice gesture and would have made me lean toward returning for another try. Not the money, just the acknowledgement of their lack of service would have been nice. Things happen but when business owners "own the errors" it makes all the difference.
This was not our first visit, but by far the most challenging! We arrived for our reservation a couple of minutes early and, although very busy, were promptly seated. Water arrived promptly as did our waitress. Orders were placed and the noise level of the full restaurant began to rise making conversation a bit challenging. After a bit the appetizers arrived, less generous than normal, but welcome because we were hungry. After enjoying them and having them promptly removed we began our wait for the entrees. After an hour had elapsed we were able to catch an eye and finally get our water refilled and bread replenished. Twenty minutes later we were able to snag a waitress (not ours) to get an idea of when our entrees might be arriving. We were told there was a new cook and he was very slow but our table was next. Fifteen minutes later I went to the kitchen to try to get some information, talked with the owner ( who was helping) and was told sharply to be patient, that everyone had come at our reservation time, and that they were doing the best they could. I was given a timetable of 2 minutes, no, 5 minutes, no 10 minutes to dinner and abruptly dismissed. Twenty minutes later everything arrived, and was delicious as usual.
The lack of communication, inattentive service and excuse of number of customers (even though our reservation was indicative of when and how many of the four of us would be arriving fully supports a reduced rating. Although a supporter of Pasteria, normally, there will be some time before we return!
Friendly but not obtrusive staff.
A gem in Red Bank, NJ
Great food, good service and BYOB! What more can you ask for!
It was awful . Service . Food . Awful . Not a good night for this restaurant .
The food was good but the amount of time to get our dinner was extremely long. we came before 6 and didn’t get our dinner until after 7
Delicious mahi-mahi dinner, huge peach salad, black ink linguine and the best servers in town ( Jennifer and Kevin) made for a lovely evening.
It was nice.
Excellent pasta dishes. Calamari perfectly cooked. Love the pear salad! Host Jay and server Kevin always professional and friendly.
This was not our first visit. We love the food. It is BYOB and the waiter appeared promptly to open our wine. After about a 15 minute wait one of our party got up and told the maitre'd we needed our server. He returned and we ordered appetizers and our entrees. The apps came out quickly. When we had finished our entrees were served, though we had not gotten our salads. The food was delicious. When it was time to pay the bill, the server had disappeared. My husband began waving the folio at the maitre'd in frustration. The maitre'd continued to watch TV. Finally we got his attention and he sent the server to pick up the check. If the food wasn't so great, we would not even think of returning.
Excellent food and service.
The entrees took close to 50 mins to come out and all we had Was pasta! The owner came by the table to ask how we liked the food and we hadn’t even eaten. She said she would speak to the kitchen and never came back. The server was not at all attentive. To get her to bring us water or refills on the soda was a mission. The food was just ok. We were looking forward to having the lava cake for dessert. When we tried to order, they told us there was only 1 left. Yet, 10 minutes later another table was able to order the cake! We asked for an espresso which they never brought, but attempted to charge us for. Unfortunately, we just didn’t have a good experience.
First time I ordered chicken parmigiana- what a generous portion! It could probably feed a family of four! It was delicious - and I love having leftovers .
We planned a surprise milestone birthday party at La Pastaria a few weeks ago. The number of guests attending changed the very last minute and the restaurant was able to seamlessly accommodate us. The staff was very attentive, the food was great (as always), and everyone had a wonderful time. We’ve held many parties here throughout the years and will continue to while recommending La Pastaria to our friends and colleagues.
Excellent dinner - good food and service. Large portions. BYOB if you wish to drink. Would recommend and return.
First time there and was not disappointed. Shared the beet salad and Giovanni Verdi pizza. Both were a healthy serving and both were delish! Others had the specials and loved their dishes. Wait staff was attentive, our water glasses never went empty. The focaccia bread with olive oil and parmesan cheese given when we first sat down was so good. Had to stop myself from filling up on it. Would recommend this wonderful BYOB place.
Servers Jennifer, Kevin and Debbie are always attentive and honestly provide details on the dishes. We have never been disappointed. The risotto with tropical fruit is to die for ( it is a side dish to fish) and the pear salad is like a dessert. All delicious!
I hesitate to recommend but we had such a great experience the first time here. This being our second was very disappointing 😕
Then entire staff seemed preoccupied and we were incidental.
We went with our family and had a fantastic dinner
Steaks pasta apps dessert all top notch.
Rachel our waitress was superb. I will defenitely be visiting again. BYOB.
