I had been looking for a nice quiet family feel
Italian restaurant that wasn’t a chain. I searched online & found La Notte. The restaurant had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. The pictures I saw online didn’t do the place justice, but it’s difficult to show how it really feels through pictures. Staff was great, attentive, & polite. It felt as if you knew everyone & they were happy to see you again. They were more than willing to explain menu items & how you would traditionally go about eating a dish you weren’t familiar with, but wanted to try. They weren’t pushy when it came to drinks or dessert, even though I highly recommend. I am definitely coming back & I think it’s safe to say this is now my favorite restaurant.
Loved this restaurant. 1st time there but not last. Waitress so helpful and knowledgeable.
This is my absolute favorite Italian restaurant! If you have not been you absolutely must go!
I have never had a bad meal here. Food is excellent and service is too. Quaint little place in a lovely part of town.
When I arrived another party also made reservations but we both had to wait; made me wonder why we even made reservations if people can just take a requested table. We walked by twenty minutes prior to our reservation and saw an outdoor table open. Should’ve just came early. We made note that we wanted an open table and also that we had a birthday party. Service was good but did not once acknowledge the note made on open table. Food is consistently good so we still had a good experience.
The restaurant provided us w/ a comfortable table to practice social distancing dining! Our pasta and wine were delicious.
Amazing staff and
Delicious! Sitting outside at a sidewalk table with great food and wine almost made me think I was in Italy!
Best Italian food around! Homemade and fresh every time!
Come for the amazing food and the genuine interactions with the owner (father). The wine is superb selections, the pastas are made to order (and house made!) and the environment is great for date spot but welcomes families as well. By far, the best Italian place in Oak Park or even in the city.
We had the arugula salad and mahi mahi special. Excellent choices. The tulip dessert is the best.
Food is always wonderful here. The Maui-maxi special with Asiago cheese was to die for. As always the wait staff was great as was the wonderful female bartender who makes a heck of a drink. One of my favorite restaurants!
My husband and I ate at LaNotte for the first time, lured by the great reviews. We dined outdoors on the sidewalk tables. The salmon and broccolini I ordered were both overcooked, and the salmon was overseasoned. My husband said his Ziti with Meatballs was just OK, and oversauced. While the service at the restaurant was attentive, our dining foursome were all alarmed that the owner, who repeatedly visited our table to chat, bring food and remove plates, was careless with his face mask. At first he wore it loosely under his nose, and soon removed it completely. If he is so careless himself, it makes me wonder how careless his cooking staff is. His carelessness is a blatant disregard for the safety of his customers during the Covid pandemic. We won't eat there again.
Always exquisite service that is match by flavorful entrees! The owner/chef, Gio, is very personable and inviting. If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out on a real gem!
Intimate dining in downtown oak park. Nice enough that you can dress for dinner or keep it casual. Home made Meatballs were incredibly delicious
Superb food and service as always - with a warm personal approach
From the urinal cake smell of the restaurant to the food itself, I would never recommend this place
Wish we asked the price of two appetizers before we ordered them; they were very good but pricey.
Having said that, we would go back but checkout the prices before we ordered.
Excellent food and very friendly service. I got the short rib ravioli and it was fantastic.
The restaurant is small with tables very close together. Portions are small but the food was delicious. I thought the check in and host was a little underwhelming and not very inviting. Our waitress was very good though. I had skirt steak and the little Parmesan potatoes that came with it were yummy. My husband had the chicken Parmesan which was good but quite small. Cesar salad was very good, especially the Parmesan cup.
The food is incredible and the owner and his son always go out of their way to make you feel welcome!
This place is the BEST! We went on a Sunday and the chef himself served us. What a treat to talk to him. Every dish was exquisite. This place is our go to for special occasions. And there's a reason - consistently excellent quality at all levels.
Very good food, but service seemed rushed and haughty. Don't make non-drinkers feel like they don't deserve to be there.
We got nickled and dimed. We ordered house salads, and were not told there would be an additional charge for the dressing we chose. Though only 50 cents, is that really necessary? At least let us know. Additionally, my wife asked "can I replace the potatoes with vegetables?" to which the server said "sure", but failed to tell us that it would cost an additional $4. Upon entering and asking for a particular table, we were simply told no. Upon exiting, we noticed that all of those tables were filled up. Decent food, though extremely small portions, and nice ambience, but the aforementioned does not make future visits worth our while. There are too many Italian options in Oak Park to settle.
Giovani the owner personally greeted us and waited on our table. He was so welcoming and made us feel like old friends. He really made the dinner more than just a meal but a wonderful experience and memory. We laughed, learned about his cooking style and enjoyed some incredible food. Truly a fabulous experience. We will definitely be going back.
Giovanni and Francisco could not be more gracious hosts. The food and service were both outstanding, will definitely be back.
Everything is homemade and tastes just like you're in Italy! The owners provide high quality food and offer phenomenal hospitality! Love this place!
We go there for the food. So good. The ambiance is great. Although that evening was extremely packed and loud. But it’s a sign of greatness.
Fresh seafood, and the best cheese cake ever!
We have been La Notte fans for a decade or more and are so pleased to have them in downtown Oak Park. The food, service and overall experience are consistently high. Gio and his team have made La Notte our go-to dinner out.
New Year’s Eve at our favorite local Italian spot. All good All the time. Food and service always 5 star a little pricey but it’s sooo good.
Food was amazing! After traveling to Italy it's been really hard to find an Italian restaurant that can compare. La Notte has definitely came the closest. We'll definitely be going back!
I’ve been here before and enjoyed it. The food is great, the service was quite good and it was reasonably priced. I plan on going back in the near future.
La Notte is our favorite restaurant. Giovanni and Francesco always go above and beyond! If you haven’t tried this restaurant yet, you should!
Meh. Not bad. Not great. Nothing impressed.
Exelent Italian food all individually prepared by chef Mancini very accommodating to individual request if it’s not on the menu ask for it if they can they will make the dish you request
Astonishingly bad service. We were directed to our table with just a gesture. Dishes were plopped down on the table without concern for who ordered them or if they spilled. They'd side some plates and utensils and leave others behind or fill some glasses and leave others half-filled. Some of the water tasted soapy. One worker took our dessert order and then 10 minutes later another came and tossed our bill on the table. (Do I need to add we hadn't requested it?) At least it didn't include the dessert. Food was fine.
Terrific food in a friendly, warm place. Noise levels can get high, but always excellent meals.
The dining experience was elegant. The staff were detailed in presentation and attentive in service. The entire experience was worthwhile and enjoyable.
