All around great experience. Great food and service. Family-friendly.
Service was wonderful and food was ridiculously delicious!!! Will definitely be back.
The food was amazing and the service was great! We loved the burrata and the daily special was delicious. The only complaint is that their dessert selection is poor.
Great food, great service, friendly neighborhood atmosphere.
We'll be back.
We have driven past La Nonna plenty of times and never thinking to stop in.
We were going to dine at La Fourno ... our go to Italian restaurant, but they are closed
until further notice due to a fire in the restaurant.
As fate would have it, we chose La Nonna for an evening out and we were both blown away.
Upon entering the setting is very charming and the server and manager are warm and friendly.
The food is one of the best we have eaten, we ordered salad, fried rice balls, lasagna, cannelloni,
wild boar tomato gravy with wide noodles and was even offered a complimentary glass of white wine.
Also, the lemon cake dessert was delicious.
We will be stopping back again for a wonderful dining experience.
Loud food was good good for byo date or friends
This is the best place! I almost don’t want to share bc I don’t want to have any trouble getting a table. Haha. But really they have the best food AND the best service. Absolutely love this place ❤️
Honestly, it’s a great place for all those categories. The food is SO good and the staff is wonderful!
Awesome services very cozy atmosphere! Highly recommend.
Cheap place bad food no booze no desert no coffee needs Gordon Ramsey to come save it.
We love it here! The food is delicious; so good every single time. Service is great, & we love the ambiance! This place is the perfect little byob!
Visited during Restaurant week. My meal at LaNonna was ok. It seems like portions of my appetizer came out of a jar. The burrata cheese was excellent but the roasted peppers were most likely out of a jar. Small thin strips. The ravioli were good, not crazy about the sauce. The chicken dish for dinner was good and dessert was good but didn't seem homemade. Service was friendly. My dining partner had Bronzino and thought it was very good.
Good. One of our favorite restaurant.
We were there for restaurant week, and the place was busy, but the service was never hurried. Four courses for restaurant week were plentiful, but served at a perfect pace. The tomato sauces were bright and fresh, the branzino was perfectly cooked, not overwhelmed by the preparation, and the chocolate hazelnut cake was the right balance of rich dark chocolate and light hazelnut.
The decor was creative, appropriate for the neighborhood and the restaurant's name. I'm not Italian, but the light fixtures fashioned from old food grinders, reminded me of my grandmother's kitchen. My grandmother wasn't an especially good cook, but the namesake nonna must have been.
We visited during restaurant week and had a great experience!
Food was fabulous and service great...can't wait to go back!
After a careful reading of reviews, I chose La Nonna for dinner during Restaurant Week and I am so happy I did. This was some of the best Italian food I've had in Philadelphia and I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to others. The gnocchi was so fresh and flavorful. The only negative I can say is that the restaurant is a bit noisy, but I also think that is reflective of everyone having such a good time.
I went to La Nonna’s for restaurant week. It was fabulous!! The gnocchi‘s were light and airy. The pork ossa came off the bone and melted in your mouth. They have their own homemade bread which is so light it doesn’t fill you up like other breads you get a restaurants. The eggplant appetizer was just the right size with just the right amount of ricottta cheese in it. The desserts were light and airy I had the chocolate cake and my friend had the lemoncello cake. I plan on going back again and bringing people I raved about the food and the ambience of the place. It’s a must go to restaurant.
Food was AMAZING. Four courses for just $35 a person during restaurant week, such a great deal. Classic italian restaurant decor, very old timey. Will definitely be going back
Lovely meal! Wanted to share Philly and our South Philly with friends from Florida! Yummmm
Haven’t been there in a long time. Don’t know why. Everything was excellent.
Great food and service. Fun place
Do NOT miss this place. Must go Italian restaurant in Philly!!! Everything is home made. It beats 5 star restaurants. Will recommended to all my friends and keep going back.
Waitress was excellent but it seemed that she was the only one running the entire operation with the exception of cooking the food. Hire more help.
Food was really particularly the specials. Lamb chops were great. Service excellent. BYOB
I enjoy this restaurant. I try to get here every time I'm in the area. Good is always great service is fantastic. Can't wait for my next visit.
A very cozy place. Love the Chicken Parmesan. Enjoy the BYOB. Good service friendly staff. Affordable. Actually the best chicken parm, I be ever had. Will be returning every couple of weeks.
I have been there on several occasions and it has always exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for quality authentic Italian food then this is the place!
My wife and I ate at La Nonna for the first time on a friend's recommendation. The food was great and the service excellent. I had the wild boar papperadelle and my wife had bronzino. The restaurant is small and it was quiet on Thursday. Given the location on South St in Phila I would guess it is busy on weekends and warrants a reservation. BYOB and cash only - ATM on site. Location is 215 South 2nd St. Bonus - there is a parking garage across the street
Great food and service. Gianna our server was delightful. we enjoyed the quality and variety of the menu selections.
Celebrating my daughter’s birthday.
Everything was amazing. The service was fantastic and the food was so fresh. Small place—reservations are a must.
Celebrated my college graduation here with my family. The appetizers were incredible and the place was so cute! Would reccomemd to anyone in the area
La Nonna is my go to restaurant. My favorite gnoccis!
Great BYOB spot on South Street. Friendly service, good food. Have been twice now on visits and was not disappointed either time. Especially like the Roman specialities - carciofo (artichokes) and matriciana (pasta with spicy tomato and pancetta sauce).
This restaurant was a huge disappointment. I would not recommend it.
The food is excellent and the staff is great!
Food and service are great. However, it was a Saturday evening and the noise level is unfortunately too much.
