Amazing tapas and paella! Took me back to my time living in Spain so it's all very authentic. Highly recommend!
Great food and great service. Definitely recommend the Sangria & Paella.
Amazing food, we went to celebrate a birthday party and the hosts were amazing. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a special dinner
Service was poor. Food was disappointing and the sangria was watered down and tasteless.
Fun spot for a spanish meal! We sat in the upstairs area. It was empty when we arrived, but by the end of the night it was all full. We loved the paella and patatas bravas.
Consistantly wonderful. Excellent ambiance, food and service
Birthday for our son. Great tapas, both quality and serving size. Not too crowded at lunchtime, which was very pleasant and felt safe. Enjoyed the Cava Sangria!
Love the friendliness of the staff.
The tapas are amazing.
Wonderful tapas and paella at La Nacional! The mixta (seafood & chicken) paella was especially delicious, the seafoodwas fresh. We started with the mixta meat & cheese board, also enjoyed the olives and grilled octopus. Service was attentive.
Great people , service
Excellent food and we were never rushed
We’ll be back
Excellent place to eat! Great menu and the food is delicious!!
Wonderful traditional tapas and paella. We'll definitely be back!
Excellent selection of Spain foods and vino
La Nacional was the perfect dinner stop! The sangria was delicious and refreshing, and the paella was generously portioned. Everything was so reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed. Would definitely recommend for authentic paella and amazing pan tomasco!
Amazing Spanish food with a local NY crowd/ few tourists.
The restaurant was well run and the service without a problem. THe paella was fresh and good but lacked the crusty rice bottom. The appetizers were spot on.
Meh I don’t really get why it has such positive reviews. The upstairs feels like you’re at a weird wedding reception and the paella was sort of flavorless.
Food always good in a nice comfortable setting. Also excellent bar drinks at reasonable prices.
Food was amazing, staff was great definitely did not disappoint.
We were disappointed as we thought the food and service were better on a previous visit. Service was quite slow this time as they seemed to be understaffed like many restaurants these days.
Real Spain cuisine, excellent services
We loved this place. We sat outside and it was nice and warm. The food was delicious. But honestly the best part was the staff. They were all so friendly and kind. It really made for such a pleasant experience. Will definitely go back often!
La Nacional is a great restaurant to try authentic Spanish tapas and mains. We usually go at least once a year to also see the flamenco show upstairs at Alegrias. The food is wonderful, flavorful and tasty. The service, however, leaves something to be desired. They didn't seem to have nearly enough servers/staff in the dining room. It took a long time just to get drinks, let alone order our food. I would definitely go back, though as the food and general atmosphere is unique and not to be missed if you want an authentic Spanish experience in NY.
The food and service were excellent. The staff was very accomodating
Great food as usual
TERRIBLE night. The note in the reservation was that we should stay no longer than 90 mins. At the 90 min mark we were still waiting for half our order (the paella). It was noisy (we clocked 80 decibels) and we were hungry. When I told the waitress we would like the check and couldn't wait any longer we were so hungry we were going to have pizza down the street, her response was "Oh well."
The patatas bravas and jamon iberico were great; the pulpo was overshadowed by too much sauce and parsnip strips, but was also good. Obviously there are problems with management and in the kitchen and waitstaff looked overworked and harried. Such a shame, so much potential and so much history.
We love la Nacional and have been patrons for a
Long time - we were a little
Concerned that no one checked our Covid 19 vaccination cards however, even though we were told we needed to be vaccinated to eat indoors.
Delicious croquettes, macaroni and cheese, and chorizo burgers at our last meal here. Great food at this top Spanish restaurant.
we love this restaurant - very welcoming staff.
My only negative is the loud music which makes conversation difficult
Absolutely authentic and wonderful according to my Spanish visitors. Only drawback was trying to catch up with extremely loud space!!!
Wonderful food and wine, and great service. It feels like a very comfortable place to be.
Great place for drinks/dinner with friends. Friendly staff, great vibe. Love that it is a nonprofit restaurant!
Delicious tapas and great value!
It was really good food. Prepared very quickly
The most authentic and best presented classic Spanish cuisine n New York City
Friendly staff, delicious dishes
It was an amazing evening with delicious paella and live music. Overall a superb place to celebrate birthdays or anything special.
Food was delicious and fresh! Authentic Spanish cuisine with beautiful presentation. Reminiscent of my visit to Spain several years ago where we enjoyed the unforgettable cuisine. Don’t pass on dessert!
Great food, good service and nice ambiance. Would definitely recommend.
Service was a little slow but well worth the wait! Food was delicious, as was the wine. Staff was very friendly!
