Told them it was my wife’s birthday and she said “if you order dessert we’ll put a candle in it” !!!
Great meal, very adventurous ingredient pairings, totally the experience I was looking for. I will be back!
Cool atmosphere. Superb food.
This is a great place! Friendly staff and excellent mussels. Great value.
We always love eating at La Moule even when the full menu is unavailable. (missing a la Diane)
Delicious food and sweet service! What a gem, we will be back for sure.
Lovely food. Great atmosphere. We sat outside and had a great time.
Limited menu due to COVID but overall everything was delicious
It was so nice to dine in at La Moule recently. It was just the slice of “normal” we needed to inspire us to trudge on. The food is reliably magnificent.
First visit to La Moule. Pretty sure we were their first indoor reservation, too. Physical distancing was in place, contact with servers minimal. And we truly enjoyed our meal. Will definitely return.
This is a new find for us and we loved both the food and the vibe. I had the $33 PDX dining offer and my wife had the 5-6pm happy hour menu. We’ll be back once the world settles down a bit
Excellent service and food.
Loved loved La Moule!! Everything was delicious!!!!!
Just brunch. Amazing place with delicious food and five star service.
Food was really good. Kind of felt our server was MIA at times. Brought a bottle of Champagne and was charged corkage. Mind you we ordered before dinner cocktails, a bottle of wine off their list and after dinner drinks. Our experience over the years has been that almost every restaurant we have dined at waives corkage when you also buy their alcohol. That was 10 cocktails and a bottle of wine from the restaurant. We tipped almost 30% regardless but will probably not return.
Have gone here several times, always good, and since I'm fond of mussels, it's a good choice. Recommended.
We go to la Moule often since we love their mussels and frits. We ordered the restaurant month menu and were delighted by a new version of their muscles--a Norwegian preparation. It was excellent as was the mushroom tartar appetizer and pot de creme desert.
It really says something about a restaurant when they have multiple sparkling waters on their menu.
Wonderful ambiance and the food and drink were top notch!
Service wasn’t as good as normal
The food was fantastic. We had a few of the plates.
Great SE spot with online reservations for brunch! Food and drink tasty and service friendly. Def coming back.
Dont know how it is on a normal day but for Valentines day I took my gf out for Dinner. Was expecting a good to great meal. I can not say anything we ate was of value of anything close. There was very few options for the evening. Nothing was "amazing" or unique. Just felt like a restaurant taking advantage of people cause of Valentines day. If you charge people over $65 per person, Id expect you to be full of that meal especially if it comes with dessert. But neither me or my gf was satisfied. We ended up going to safeway after and getting more food/dessert right after..
Food was very salty!
PROS: ambiance was nice (think more like a cafe than a restaurant). Service was very good. Bone marrow tartar is worth getting again.
CONS: Duck appetizer was way off balance - huge hunk of goat cheese and 4 tiny slivers of duck. Mussels were tasty, broth lacked complexity and was too salty. Pasta entre was terrible - 1 star. The sauce was overwhelming, thick, and simply not very good. The flank steak was maybe 3 stars. The french fries were drenched in salt and mostly inedible. Overall, for my wife's birthday dinner, mostly disappointed.
Grandma wanted to have steak and fries, and La Moule met the bill with aplomb: steak was perfectly cooked, fries were crisp and tasty. We also had the oysters (excellent), brussels sprouts (tasty), and butter lettuce salad (the Dijon vinaigrette was very good). We will gladly return the next time we're in the mood for steak frites.
Always great.
La Moule never disappoints. The mussels are handpicked. The different broth bases go perfect with mussels.
I love the butter lettuce salad with its tarragon dressing. A Must!
La Moule is perfect for a Sunday brunch with friends and an outstanding restaurant to go for dinner. The entire staff is always attentive with great service. I love sitting at the counter and watch the chefs cook the delicious food La Moule is known. Great atmosphere.
All good. Usually don't like "high end" burgers, but this one was terrific.
A true gem amongst brunch spots in Portland. The food is delicious, cocktails fantastic, and there is never a wait for a table!
Love this place! The happy hour mussels, salad & cocktails are always delicious. Great atmosphere to boot!
Was a bit disappointed...had a great experience last Sunday for a friend’s bday dinner. So had brought my parents to experience today. Had to send back an order of mussels for being too salty. When it came back, it tasted totally different than last week’s same order. Service was great but it didn’t leave a great impression for my folks. :(
One of my favorite brunch spots. Order everything. Just all of it. Wear stretchy pants. And walk around the amazing neighborhood after because you can’t sit down or you will explode.
NYE prix fixe menu with three options for starters and entrees and two options for dessert. Plus a few other seafood options available. Two of the starters (celeriac strangeness and a mussel something) were bland and simply did not taste good. The entree’s were fine but not great. Dessert also not very good - chocolate torte that tasted several days old. A special crudo scallop dish was also not great. Our server rushed us but then was not clearing our table or taking our wine orders. Very disappointing for the money we spent.
This was our first visit and it was outstanding - we can't wait to go back. The food was delicious and innovative. The drinks were perfect. The service was excellent and we especially liked that the wait staff dressed for New Year. We believe it contributed to the special vibe of the evening. All of the employees were happy, friendly and striving to make everyone's evening special. This was such a welcome surprise for us because so many places have food that is good but the staff does not seem like they care. Thank you, La Moule, for giving us a New Year's Eve to remember! we will see you again soon.
My husband and I dined at La Moule last summer and had such a great meal that we decided to do their pre fixe offering for New Year's Eve. We expected more (and better choices) than what was on the menu, and what we did choose was disappointing -- cold and forgettable. Further, it is La Moule but there were no mussels on the menu (just some chopped into an appetizer). Not what we were expecting, very expensive, and we won't be going back.
Food was delicious and service was timely. Great place to celebrate a birthday!
I thought that the atmosphere and service was great. Our waiter was very kind and attended to us swiftly. My only gripe was that the steak and fries were over salted, albeit the steak was cooked exactly to my specs. Otherwise it was a good meal.
Good and service is amazing? Also, the cocktails are wonderful!!
I wanted to eat oysters and mussels with some fries in broth and this was the perfect place to find that. A buddy who joined me for the meal said it reminded him of traveling in Normandy where they serve giant bowls of steamed mussels in broth with bread for dipping. We ate all of that and it was awesome.
