La Merce Restaurant & Market Ratings and Reviews
If you are seeking true, authentic Spanish food, this is the place for you! Loved the Rose Sangria! Perfect blend of everything! The food was all excellently cooked to perfection! The list of specials on the board was plentiful and worth several trips back to try them all!
I really hope people go off the beaten path (park ave) and try this place as it is definitely worth it!!
The experience was excellent. I took my girl to dinner. The staff was amazing, we shared the medditeran salad for appetizer and the black paella. The sangrias are the best i have ever had. Be prepared to wait, they make it all from scratch but its worth it.
This place is amazing just a block from park avenue
I went with my girlfriend and we had 2 sangrias wich were made with real fruits the way it should be
For an appetizer we ordered fried calamari and they were delicious and also an octupus carpaccio that was the best octupus i ever tasted in this country, for our entrees my grilfriend ordered a grouper poached and she enjoyed it so much that she did not gave me a little bit hahaha and i had the asopado WOW the best all the ingredientes are so fresh that i think is the key of this restaurant that allow them to cook so flavour food.
Andy took care of us and he is an amazing server what a experience we had here
DO NOT MISS IT I WILL BE BACK FOR SURE
Very small portions and food wasn’t that good for the price. The octopus appetizer is $18 and barely had any octopus (a few small slices). My red snapper entree was VERY small and tasted fishy. I suspect my “sautéed veggies” were from a frozen bag.
Our server was excellent though.
Only knocks is that it's a little over priced & the host/server we had was a little too casual & chatty (to the point of being a distraction & interruption of our meal).
Otherwise a very good restaurant w/great quality of food.
After reading the favorable restaurant review in the Orlando Sentinel, we wanted to check it out. We received great service from both Vito and Bel-Andy. We enjoyed the WP Appetizer and Paella for 2. Great wine selection and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie was over the top! We'll definitely go back soon to try the Squid Ink Paella and more of the Spanish wines.
It was a hot day, I sat down and ordered a white sangria. I've discovered that this white sangria at La Merce is pretty much the perfect summer drink and I'll be trying to recreate it the rest of the summer, it's definitely a must have. At this point I'm assuming the red one is just as good.
I was in for a late lunch but wanted to still have something that wasn't too heavy. I had the grouper with clams and a side of asparagus. The grouper was light and flaky, the sauce was light but flavorful, and the clams came in the shell. Beautiful presentation and a great portion size. Would come back here with family.
Of all the spanish theme restaurants this one needs a lot of improvements... the restaurant has been opened for two months but needs a lot of help in the kitchen, but place is beautiful and well kept.
Sangria, is one of the best things you can get in an spanish restaurant, it lacked flavor and consistency, cheese and ham platter, or la merce platter, had just two pieces of manchego, the rest Mozzarella, mozzarella is Italian not spanish. Serrano was good but it was something completely different from what we saw in the picture. Shrimps were good, we asked for patatas brava's, complete failure... no flavor.
Paella was ok, nothing special, it didn't had a Wow Factor... sorry, for a spanish theme restaurant it is supposed to be a star. We ordered a sirloin, it was undercooked and no flavor or seasoning.
The best part was the service the server was sharp, but they need to work on the food.
Price, almost 150.00, too expensive for what we got.
Recommendation, menu is good, but food needs improvement.
