This cebichería celebrates traditional Peruvian flavors in a casual yet upscale setting. The restaurant features a pisco bar, a cebiche bar with a raw fish display, and an open-air kitchen that overlooks both upper and lower dining areas, including a private room for intimate gatherings. Under Executive Chef Kaoru Chang, La Mar emphasizes fresh seafood sourced directly from the sea, showcasing the essence of Peruvian culinary traditions.

    As usual the overall great experience, great service and welcome atmosphere. We have been going to La Mar pretty often, this time tried number of new dishes and most were fantastic (tacos, scallop with parmesan foam and more), however was disappointed with seabass dish. Black rice was done in seafood broth and tasted very strange and was soggy, while fish was mostly dry. Will definitely come back again, but will stick to meat and duck dishes for the main course.

    Food is great. Really need to provide shades for the west facing windows. Not enjoyable paying $150-$200 per person only for have your party to be blinded by the sun.

    What an amazing experience at this Peruvian restaurant. The server was outstanding and so knowledgeable about the menu. Such a great vibe in there and the food and drinks were excellent!!!

    Giving an “overall” rating of 1 because despite the food being excellent, the hospitality was awful. We made this reservation for our anniversary months in advance, requesting a booth so we could enjoy a romantic night. Instead, we were seated in the bar and one of the seats wasn’t even a chair! It was this mini stool like you’d see in a play area for children! We asked to be moved, but they refused, citing other reservations, though there were a multitude of other two-tops available that they could have easily moved us to and given someone else the one we were seated at. They finally reluctantly agreed to at least replace the stool with an actual chair. The service after that was not great either. Ultimately, the server forgot about us entirely - we had to track them down to remind them we were still waiting for our check after 15+ minutes. Oh, did I mention our horrible table was also directly next to the DJ?! So much for a romantic night out. :(
