   A group of us were meeting after a long time and we chose this place because the food is amazing and they have nice bay views on the patio. It was a gorgeous day and I’m so glad we came here! The view was amazing, the drinks were amazing, the food was amazing, the staff was amazing.

   Birthday Dinner and La Mar did not disappoint! With the extensive menu, there was something for everyone. The staff was terrific and the atmosphere was unique. The restaurant was clean and the servers were very attentive. We will definitely be back to try more delicious Peruvian Food.

   The quality of both the food and the presentation which was always excellent has deteriorated and become much more commercialized. My first experience with La Mar was in Lima, Peru and my family and I have been great fans until this last experience. Sadly we will be looking for alternatives in the future.

    Really fantastic place with great food. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the high top seating was too close together. A bit more space would make it perfect.

    Terrific location and atmosphere! The concept is great but we felt the food could have been much better. The octopus could have been amazing but was smothered in a sauce that appeared to be used in another dish. The ceviche was ok but didn’t like the “chunks” of fish which could have been smaller or sliced, in our opinion.

    This was one of the best meals I have ever had, and I’ve dined around the world and at Michelin starred restaurants. The grilled scallops with aji Amarillo pepper sauce may be the best scallops I have ever had. The complimentary taro chips with jalapeño-Mayo sauce was startlingly good. And the chocolate cake with dulce de leche filling also may have been on of the best chocolate cakes. The only problem was that the seating was very crowded and during a pandemic surge only the staff was wearing masks. The service was excellent but the pacing was too quick. I almost felt like I was being rushed out of my $200 dinner. The patio was unavailable during my visit. That would have been perfect .

    I believe the lady (manager) called me in advance to come in 30 minutes earlier than my reservation stating they were bought out and wanted me to have a better experience. As I was talking to her she hung up on me. Extremely rude. The restaurant was busy when I arrived and was pretty full. The food and view was great but I will never come back to this establishment!!

    We had a group of eight going to dinner at La Mar and our experience was outstanding. We were seated promptly and provided excellent cocktails right off the bat. We got excellent guidance from the waitstaff in selecting from a broad and varied menu. We ended up just getting a wide variety of shareable plates where an octopus dish was a real standout for me. We enjoyed everything and finished the evening with one of the best tres leches cakes I’ve had.

    We dined at La Mar Cebicheria Peruana for my husband's birthday. We chose it because we dined at Astrid y Gaston and La Mar in Lima last month. Our experience was wonderful. The wait staff was perfect - attentive, professional and personable yet not overbearing. The food was delicious! Interesting, beautiful and perfectly presented. I highly recommend La Mar.

    Lovely atmosphere, spacious outdoor seating with fantastic views. Service is slow even though there are staff everywhere. They make a big deal of telling you that there is a 2 hour limit on the table when you arrive but then don’t bring menus for 5-10 minutes and arrival or everything seems to take more time than normal. Once the amazing food starts arriving it is fantastic-the tiradito and the empanadas are must haves. Delicious sauces on everything-wish they gave you more with each item. Cocktails are great - ordering wine can take a while for it to arrive. Glasses come first and then you wait and wait for the beverage. Thank goodness the view is spectacular and the time with friends is valuable! Will definitely return -maybe prepared for a slower pace and a laid back feel. Food is so good that we will just being our dominos to while away the time.

    I have long been a fan of La Mar. I normally go for dinner, but yesterday want for lunch. I had Arroz con Mariscos, which was delicious and plentiful. My partner had Berenjena Criolla which, while delicious, was quite skimpy--certainly not worth the $29. The drinks were also uneven. My partner had the Hibiscus Fizz ($10 for about 8oz) that was so nothing that it hardly warrants a mention. On the other hand, I had the Chicha Morada which was spectacular at half the price. Overall, I'd say the food is well prepared and presented, but not always worth the price. Service was good. I'll return. My partner will not.

    Having spent nearly five years living in Perú, I love this place! It's a Gastón Acurio restaurant, so you know the food is good. However, we had some serious issues with the service. One, our reservation was at 2:30pm. It wasn't until 2:40pm that they informed us the kitchen closed at 3pm. That's fine, but why weren't we informed ahead of time? Heck - why even allow reservations to be made that late in the afternoon? Having to select drinks, appetizers, entrées, and desserts before we had a chance to mingle and properly peruse the menu was off-putting. Two, our plates of food felt like they were just thrown on to the table, not placed in front of each of us. Three, the staff couldn't remove our plates fast enough - including plates we were still enjoying. Four, cleaning up other tables around is fine, but if you're going to break down tables and chairs, maybe you don't have to make so much noise? It felt like being at a bar during closing time after the lights come on at 2am. And finally, I have never had a server remove a dessert menu from my hand whilst I was still reading it until yesterday. This was such a disappointing experience for me. I've eaten at this La Mar location a number of times before and have another reservation on the books for later this month, so I will definitely come back and would recommend this restaurant to others. I'm *really* hoping this was just a one-off experience and that the quality of the waitstaff hasn't fallen off a cliff like this permanently. I'll report back in a few weeks once we eat here again, but in the interim, keep your hands on the menu, especially if you have to keep your eyes on the clock.

    Asked for an outdoor table for a date. They didn’t deliver. They said they didn’t look at my notes that table was booked for inside. Food is great and I always loved La Mar but their service is really lacking unfortunately
