Great meal, beautiful restaurant, unique flavors and service is always top notch. Unfortunately one of the ceviches was filled with lots of rubbery calamari that was so tough to chew we actually couldn’t eat it. However the empanadas, salmon and drinks were all amazing. Will be back but never eating the mixto ceviche again.

My first visit and particularly enjoyed the various ceviches offered. I will plan on going back and hopefully sit in the main room, as the tented area noise level was deafening.

Service was horrible! Our waiter rarely came to check on us & we had to wave him down to get his attention several times. Our glasses never stayed full which in my opinion is a sign of a not great waiter. The food was tasty & tasted fresh but it was a bit over priced I think due to the location on the water. As we were enjoying our meal they came over multiple times to take our plates & we were just talking with food still on our plates!

Flavours are great, they have authentic food, place has a nice view and good interior design. More vegan options would be a plus.

Bummer I mentioned at the beginning I was vegan and I got my empanadas first one chicken, one meat; lucky my cousin tried them first, second time they brought one vegan and again one with cheese, so I only got to try one. I think this should not happen in these type of places. Moreover when they brought the bill they said the birthday dessert they had brought was not going to be charged due to the inconveniences, didn't know you can be charged for something you didn't order.

Anyway I think (and I hope) it was only a situation there, yet I think is a good place for good food with nice atmosphere.

No seating while waiting for table. No attentiveness to service (i.e. giving our food to the next table, no water refill, etc.) Only one bathroom per gender for the entire restaurant. Food ok.

I’ve been 3 times and have to say that I’m not all that impressed. The last time we visited, the cebiche wasn’t all that fresh and I had an upset stomach that night. Given how expensive it is, I expect the food to be way better than it is.
Overpriced and won’t be back.

We arrived early and directed to the bar as the restaurant hadn't opened yet. Pisco Sour later (bar was very loud and packed), we were finally directed to our table on the patio. There are heaters and our waiter offered me a blanket as well. We ordered small bites and shared. Everything was great and our waiter fuided us through the menu. We had a pitcher of prickly margaritas and even had dessert! They compd one of them because it was our anniversary. My husband's first visit. My third. We'll definitely return. Special occasion place for us.

For a long time, I wanted to La Mar for a dinner with my girlfriend. For the Valentine, I made a few reservation and I am searching a lot about Peru these days, I thought it would be great to make it happen. However, my experience was not great for the value I was milked for, for this specific date.

So, never go to La Mar on Valentine's day. The place a pre-fix menu ahead of us, without giving any notice in advance. The menu had only 3 options for your appetizer, entree and dessert for $79! Basically, you are tided to pay above $200 for the options you are not really in love with.

Honestly, I didn't like any of my appetizer options and and when it was served it was minuscule! The entree was better and tasty. The ambience was not that great. We sat outside and it was a very cold night.

To sum up, my experience was not that great and paid a lot.

Very disappointing. After being a fan for many years, eating here on a holiday was a mistake. Only a few items to choose from, and none of the favorites. Waitstaff were temp staff and had no idea what they were talking about. Clearly the objective was volume- waiter said they did over 500 covers. Felt like a banquet- and certainly was not worth the $. Feel taken advantage of. Won’t go back- off our regular list.

We went for a Valentine's Day date. Very good overall except for the service:

1. I had a reservation, but instead of offering the best available table I was asked to pick one and the host had to go to reception each time to verify whether it's available or not. After I asked him the second time he was quite annoyed like it was my problem that he didn't not know which table was available.
2. Server only brought wine pairing menu after I made an order from the main drinks menu. If I knew there was a wine pairing menu I wouldn't have bothered to start with a cocktail.
2. Server was asked to box the leftovers but apparently forgot about that: he brought check and never shown up with the food.

I enjoyed the food and location, however the restaurant was much bigger and louder than I expected with no views based on our seating indoors. For my occasion, meeting up with an old friend to catch up, it wasn't ideal. Yet, if I were nearby and the outdoor seating were available on a sunny day.. it would be a great place to stop in for a bite/drink.

The food was so amazing! We chose to get the four course meal so we could try all that was possible. This was 69 dollars per person and it was 110 percent worth it. Every dish was a brand new taste and the view was scenic and beautiful! We sat in the outdoor seating area which has heaters since it wasn't very warm late at night and they have blankets for people who do get cold. So worth the money and I would highly recommend.

They suggested the most expensive items on the menu when explaining menu.

Server disappeared for 15-20 min’s before ordering, but he was friendly. Appreciated another server being willing to take our order.

If you’re prepared to pay $60/person for lunch & a beautiful view (sitting in enclosed patio) then you’ll love it. Three dishes for two to share for lunch is plenty.

While initially overwhelmed at the options of the menu, we got some wonderful clarification by our waiter & were blown away by the superior quality and creativity of all the dishes. Our first visit but by no means our last!!! And our waiter brought us a dessert to celebrate my mother being in town. Not at all necessary, but an endearing gesture and it was very tasty! Gracias por la cena. Todo estuvo delicioso 😀
