Best Peruvian food. Restaurant is gorgeous and atmosphere pleasant. Only bad impression was the hostess because not very friendly and they didn’t care too much if we wait for a table or not even we had reservation. Again overall a great experience.
Great an all fronts. The food is always great and overall we had a great service. A bit noisy but more than acceptable overall.
Beautifully decorated food that has an irresistible fresh flavor. Incredible you just have to try it!
I've been to La Mar a few times now and it never disappoints. The food is delicious (all of the ceviches are awesome). We had a late reservation and were the last people left in the restaurant, but they didn't make us feel rushed and were very friendly.
Great food and interesting wine pairings. Highly recommended!
We tried the sampler menu with the wine pairing and it was very good.
The sewage smell in the dining room is awful. Maybe nothing can be done about it, but I would never eat here f I couldn’t be outside.
We have dined several times with you. Enjoyably. We had the Petrole Dore, too fried for our liking, and the Mixed Grilled Seafood, which was disappointing
Our server wasn’t very personable for someone that has been with you 27 years! .
Wonderful meal, service, and the view is incredible!
A fantastic place. Enjoyed all the food, and the service was on point.
Service that’s bad poor
I loved everything. Excellent service.
Excellent food. A little noisy or energetic as OpenTable puts it.
Service was very poor and food was not worth the wait or the price.
unique flavors that taste fantastic service was absolutely lovely
Good ceviche but not worth the price. If you want quality ceviche in SF, go to Limon in the Mission for overall better food and more buck for the buck.
Service, food and presentation never disappoint. The service was attentive and the food was delicious as always. Fresh and flavorful. My fav is the lomo saltaldo
THANK YOU, La Mar, for a wonderful dinner!!! It was my first time dining with you and my experience was absolutely FANTASTIC!!!! From the moment I walked in, the service and attention to detail was superb. The ambiance accompanied with a meal that far exceeded my expectations made my date night over the top all around WONDERFUL!!
I will be back for sure!!!!
Awesome food and service
Beautiful restaurant with great ambiance! Loved the food.
My first time and my guest from out of State was pleased the ambiance and great foods!
La mar has become one of my favorite restaurants especially when I have guests from out of town or when when I entertain a large group of friends. I have been there 4 times in the last 3 months and I have not been disappointed each time. I have ordered pretty much everything on the menu now, and I can say that everything taste good, including the catch of the day which changes daily. Service is always up to par. It’s just a pleasant experience every time I go there. So I am going back there again in a 10 days for a birthday dinner~😊😋❤️
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner. The service was impeccable. The food delicious and beautifully presented. They even saw our note that it was our anniversary and treated us with a dessert.
It was a perfect evening!
What can I say about La Mar, if it's my favorite restaurant. Loved everything, the Ceviche, Lomo Saltado, Yuca Frita.
Beautiful setting. Food was very good. Even though we were outside, the noise level was so loud we could not hear the specials or menu options given to us by our waiter. Service was very slow. More than 2 hours.
4 ceviche appetizers, 2 tapas plates. 2 entrees. 4 cocktails. No wine. Almost $400.
Wonderful birthday dinner for my wife.
I had the arroz nortena and it was a revelation. I make paella often but paella will not satisfy me after this complex, rich, satisfying dish. And the chips and dip they serve you while you wait is insanely delicious. I wanted to drink the dip, which was a lime, jalapeño, onion, cilantro aioli. I plan to try to replicate this dip the next time I entertain.
Tasty, fun and affordable if sharing plates. Leave room for dessert!
Great Peruvian seafood with a modern twist! A buzzing atmosphere.
My husband and I always love to eat here and is a great place to eat for special occasions
Host was great and I appreciated that they tried to seat us close to the water but the patio is over-crowded. We got stuck too close behind another table and we can hear each other’s conversations as if we were seated at the same table. Service was not friendly and extremely slow. My husband had to ask for a glass of water 3x. They served our food and the waiter didn’t come by to check on us until we were ready for dessert. Wait staff was great, cleared our plates and was courteous. The food was not as good as I had in the past. It was good but it wasn’t outstanding and I felt I could get the same kind of food elsewhere.
Our server, Raciel, was just too good. He recommended great wines to pair with our food choice and gave a mini description of exactly what we were eating and where it came from. There wasn’t a set attendant for each section, so the flow of bringing food, getting drinks, spacing out the courses was seamless. I’ve been here once before and the service is even better than last time. Every one of the staff was courteous and cordial. Will definitely be coming back and celebrating more special occasions here. 5 stars!
We (2 adults) ordered and split the food: 1 nigiri tasting, 1 cebiche tasting, and 1 lomo saltado, and had two drinks each.
The portion size was perfect for supper, if for a later dinner, maybe another small plate to be added.
Superb food & impeccable service
Beautiful day in San Francisco. Could not be the ambience. Great food and service. One of our favorite San Francisco restaurant!
We love the food at La Mar, especially the ceviches and empanadas. The restaurant has seating outside in back which is wonderful on a warm evening. Enjoy!
The cusquena, lomo saltado, causa, and anticuchos were all amazing. The Pisco sour was PEFECT (which is typically not the case at most Peruvian restaurants) and the dessert (choco-maracuya) was to DIE for. I highly recommend this place.
Very good food! Service was excellent.
A little bit noisy.
Portions are small but food is amazing. A bit crowded on Saturday noon. Must reserve! On the pricy side.
