   Came back to La Maquette for Valentines Day 2016 after having a very enjoyable experience for Winterlicious in 2015. As always, the atmosphere was perfect as my fiancee and I had a seat in the very, very romantic solarium which had live music that night. The staff were very friendly, courteous and very enjoyable to chat with. The food was on another level. Great portions with excellent variety, plating, colours and flavours. What more can you ask for on a date night? This restaurant has become a favourite of ours and we will be coming back. Consider us customers for life!

   I would avoid this place. Service was crummy. Our order was messed up, then not put through. We waited over an hour for our appetizers, followed by more than another hour for entrees. When the food arrived, it was basic banquet food... Just way overpriced. Way way way overpriced. We were expecting decadent French cuisine. We got banquet food. Ambiance was bad as well. Poorly cleaned and dated. Toronto is an amazing city with so much to offer. This is a pass. No brainer.

   My husband and I enjoyed Valentine's Day Dinner here. They had a prix fix menu as well as a la carte. Everything was absolutely delicious. From my super refreshing and tasty salad to my perfectly cooked lamb and to top it all off the dessert was delectable. My server also took the extra steps to make sure my order was 100% correct and to my liking. Good work all around.

   Lovely food served very well in a beautiful building, but the restaurant feels dated. The artwork, the lighting - something needs to be refreshed to help the place feel more modern.

   Food service was absolutely great during an evening during the winterlicious programme. And the food did not disappoint either! I had walked by Maquette several times over the years but my first experience will not be my last . They had a talented guitarist near our table and the ambience was so good we closed up the restaurant, we just didn't want to leave.

   On making a reservation, I inquired as to whether the full menu was offered and was reassured that it would be during winterlicious. However, when arriving we were only offered their limited winterlicious menu with three dishes to choose from. When asked if we could get the full menu, we were told that they are particularly busy right now so could not offer us the full menu. The kicker was that the table right next to us was offered the full menu and when we confronted our waitress about this, she said that they know family at the restaurant and that they ordered their meals yesterday (which makes no sense as they were choosing their meals right in front of us). Despite the limited menu, we stayed for the underwhelming meal consisting of an incredibly bland tasting risotto. The arugula salad to start consisted of just dressing, with no attempt made to add any other ingredients to the salad. Incredibly disappointing experience, and would not come back because of the poor food quality and the lack of transparency by the hostess, waitress, and manager.

   Service was sub-par for the first time, likely due to the Winterlicious promotion on a busy Saturday night. We were never asked if we wanted another drink with our dinner, or coffee with (or after dessert), and we could never catch the waiter's eye to ask. It also took him a very long time to bring us the bill. It's a good thing we had no plans after dinner because the four of us were there for 2.5 hours. If you go during Winterlicious, order everything up front, if possible, and don't expect to be in and out in less than 2 hours for dinner. But it was still a good experience, as the food and ambiance were wonderful. I'll definitely go back.

   Unfortunately we were sitting under one of the speakers and while the music was enjoyable, it interfered with our discussion. I had to request the volume be lowered three times.

   I was told I would receive asparagus. The wait or came back and said thy didn't have any. He offered alternatives, including broccoli. When I got the food, I questioned why I didn't get the broccoli. His reply was that they were giving me Bok Choy. I told him that I had asked for broccoli. He rolled his eyes and left. I was served very hot undercooked broccoli.

    We loved our New Year's Eve celebration at La Maquette. The food, wine, service and ambiance was perfect! Will definitely recommend it. Merci Beaucoup!
