We had an issue with service. Our food came out really late and at separate times. The description given by our server of the oyster loaf was completely wrong.
Great food. I've never ordered anything from LaLucha that I didn't love.
The restaurant itself is very well-designed and has great ambiance. The service is very cheerful and efficient. The food was good overall, but the dumplings were much too salty and garlicky and I found it odd that the blackened catfish was just a plate of catfish with nothing else. Also, I specifically told them it was a birthday celebration and would have appreciated at least some mention of it for my daughter. Perhaps I'm too old to appreciate this restaurant, but I really don't get the concept of being reminiscent of the old San Jacinto Inn...I'm thinking the chef or owner may be too young to have ever gone there.
Decided at the last minute to try someplace new on a Saturday night. What a pleasant surprise. Loved it. Cool sophisticated but casual vibe. excellent service. Odd menu concoctions. Settled on Fried chicken and shrimp combo, outstanding. Some of the best juicy fried chicken in town. Great seasoning. Will be back for sure. Parking is a mess like every place in that corridor. Valet available next door at their TexMex cousin.
Service was exemplary, but it’s hard to overcome the fact the menu is overwhelmingly tilted to fried food, which we avoid.
We were able to make an easy reservation through Opentable and walked right to our table and able to order right away. Our drinks were good, food was delicious - especially the fried chicken. The menu had so many great specials on it, I told the waitress I wanted to eat all the opportunities. I would definitely go again. Everything was great.
Great birthday celebration. The roasted oysters, fried chicken, fried shrimp, fried oysters, deviled eggs and shrimp dumplings were delicious! Great wine and cocktails. Finished off with some soft serve for the bday girl and complementary bubbly. A great afternoon!
Loved the food
Great service & food!
WOW! La Lucha. We came tonight and I can't believe we waited so long. Even the pickles were to die for and it was an incredible dining experience. amazing cocktails and Oysters are to die for as is the blackened catfish. The shrimp dumplings were served with a chile de árbol marinade that was out of the ball park. The fried Chicken is the best I've had in Houston, just simply succulent and delicious. Superica next door is also their restaurant and based on tonight's experience, we're going to try it as well.
Always amazing. The service is great, the food is perfect, its just the best place.
My husband and I went with another couple to celebrate my birthday day. They promptly served everyone with watermelon margarita shots, which were delicious. We ordered oysters, the seafood tower and the fried chicken. Everything was yummy and the service was really stellar. Food plus about 5-7 drinks cost about $250 not including tip. It was totally worth it!
Truly overall great food great atmosphere definitely coming back
Location and venue are great, service is really good. Food is not, neither are cocktails, unfortunately.
The food, price and all around experience was amazing. My wife and I will definitely be coming back to try different entrees.
We live in Katy and La Lucha has become a regular go-to place for us. The fried chicken and shrimp with the delicious dipping sauces is the best in Houston as far as we are concerned. The bar service is creative and delicious too. Certainly worth the drive!
Some of the dishes area little pricey but, on the other hand the sides are quite inexpensive. Put is all together and La Lacha is a great experience!
Service was sloooooow
Out waiter George was awesome. The design was flawless and the meal was outstanding. Will visit again soon.
Restaurant was a little too dark and loud. The food was very good. The service was spot on.
The menu is a bit simple but the food is very good and the service was great.
Trendy restaurant. Although service was wonderful, we felt the food/drink was overpriced for what you received. Doubt we’ll return.
This was my second time here. The first time was amazing. So this time I brought my parents who usually only cook at home. They weren’t very hungry when we arrived and they still ate everything because “everything was delicious” we ordered a bit of everything and it was the right move. Will keep coming back here.
Great menu, service and ambiance and teen/tween friendly.
Delicious. Great service. Lots of windows and sunlight.
Excellent; except is hard to talk due to music being loud.
Food too spicy, shrimp dumplings- told were not hot
Wine & champagne list sparse
Food was great. Waiter very capable and attentive but not intrusive. A nice space.
Very cool place, good music on the record player! love the respect to the old days and the San Jacinto Inn. Delicious gulf food.
Per usual, everything was great. My chicken was a little burned, but was salvageable (wasn't worth ruining the night over). We really love the fusion of different flavors, and the crawfish boudin were amazing. Thinking of buying a bunch and freezing lol. Great atmosphere in an eccentrically styled restaurant. We'll be back!
The cheeseburger is a must
Great food, fantastic service.
The fried chicken was amazing! The crab claws were delicious. The wine menu is a little small. And the service was slow. But would go back again for the food.
We had a great time thanks to Luis. He took great care of us and had some great stories to share. Picking and choosing items to share was fun.
The food was absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend sharing. We had the crab fingers, shrimp dumplings, and fried chicken and shrimp. The dumplings were perfectly spicy without being overly hot, the chicken was perfection - a crispy thick crust without a hint of greasiness - and the fried shrimp was some of the best in Houston, hands down. Don’t miss the banana pudding for dessert ... better than your grandmother’s!!
Love it there! One of our fav restaurants.
Our server for the evening was spectacular. I believe her name was Miranda.
Great service, delicious food. Ambiance was laid back yet elegant. Great place for drinks after work or dinner date. Definitely get the fried chicken and the pharmacy burger. The cornbread was delicious as well
Excellent!! Food was delicious and service was great. Will definitely be dining here again and again.
It was delicious! Such a fun place for a date night. The fried chicken was incredible and paired it with an inexpensive sparkling Cava. The charbroiled oysters were also great
