Moe was a nice server, very available and attentive. Food was great! We ate an array of dishes family style. The key is to hold on to 1 menu and keep the food coming in waves, because the table doesn’t have a lot of space for several plates and cocktails.

The food was amazing! We had a reservation, sat at our table for two in the main dinning room, it was so loud (piercing loud) we couldn't hear each other. We asked to move to another table, but they had a large party coming in and didn't have another table for us. We decided to leave, but being from out of town and hearing so many good things, we decided to try one drink at the bar. Was actually quieter than the main room. Seats opened so we sat at the bar - the manager came over and apologized for the inconvenience and sent us two appetizers! Bar service was excellent! Peach salad was to die for!! We decided to stay for the food the salad was so great. Fried chicken was the best I've had! I had a French 75 to drink - so delicious! Husband had a manhattan (called a Your Welcome) and loved it. I was so disappointed when I thought we'd have to leave, so glad we stayed. Management, food and drinks totally made up for the noise. We will definitely go back next time in Houston, may just stick to eating and drinking the bar! :)

What a fun adventure! Take your time ordering and enjoy each dish as it comes out. Standouts: rolls and honey butter, chowder and fries, crab fingers, deviled eggs... Can't wait to return and try more!

While the food was good, I was hoping they would have some lighter dishes. I felt like I may have a heart attack from the rich foods. No just an upset stomach all night. Fried chicken was some of the best I’ve had. The fries were good without the chowder. Chowder had an odd taste. It was quite loud in there but we could still have a conversation. Not sure I would go back.

I enjoyed dinner with family during Happy Hour. The oysters were fresh and delicious. We shared the fried chicken and shrimp dinner. It lived up to the hype that I was told about. The fried chicken was moist and hot out of the frying pan. The shrimp were battered and seasoned well and they were a good size. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Our waiter was excellent! He explained the Happy Hour specials and went over the menu with us since it was our first time to visit. I look forward to returning again soon.

Our new favorite! Love the atmosphere....you feel like you’re in a hotel lobby. Beautiful bar area. Service was very good as well. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. Start with the oysters and then do family style to get a taste of everything. We loved everything we ordered...

Perfectly adequate but over priced. Fried chicken was good, as you would expect for freshly fried when ordered, but nothing special. $1 happy hour oysters were fine but full price of well over $2 each is ridiculous. Shrimp Remoulade was tasty but had very little shrimp for the high price.

I really wanted to like this place from the moment I sat down. I had really high hopes for this place but, everything I had didn't taste as good as it looked. We had a variety of oysters and some were sweet and some of them just tasted like gulf coast oysters. For paying upwards of $2+ for an oyster I was hoping for a better tasting oyster. The 1/2 portion of fried chicken was great but, for $18 I could say it was fair. Overall nothing else we ordered was worth mentioning... Fries were fries with chowder... Gumbo was very poor & the crab claws were sitting in a pool of flavorless oil.

We decided to share plates and the menu facilitated that nicely. Definitely recommend the oysters and chicken. Deviled Eggs were also very good. Wine list was not large but the red we selected worked very well with the light fare. No one was hungry despite the fact that we ordered 2 entrees for four of us.

Our daughter honored her father for Father's Day with this amazing dining experience at La Lucha. Our server was a perfect balance of friendly and professional as she helped us explore the creative menu and drink options. Upon her recommendations, we all tried one of the many mescal options which was an unexpected delight. Browsing through the many options of the menu was fun and stimulating because of the unexpected combinations of relative common entrees but with a special culinary and very tasty twist. For the "I like it simple" palette, the fried chicken is absolutely perfection. In fact every item we ordered added to our decision that this is an outstanding restaurant and a memorable outing.

We were introduced to La Lucha by friends, we turned around and introduced two of our other friends to it the other night. The smoked oysters are a go-to for me, and they had a Rib Eye Chicken Fried steak this particular night, which was wonderful. The yeast rolls are amazing, they have the butter already soft so it's easy to coat them up! They are known for their fried chicken, and while we have yet to order it, we saw it in abundance at other tables. The bread pudding was wonderful, only disappointment was the lemon meringue pie. The meringue was awesome but the texture of the lemon filling was a little too dense for my taste, your mileage may vary. We really like this place.

I booked my reservation based on a post on Instagram and it was everything I expected and more! Our waitress was beyond amazing and was attentive without being disruptive. The food from the crab claws to the DIVINE fried chicken was phenomenal. I’ll definitely be bad as there are more items on the menu I would like to sample!

This was a second visit after a very nice first visit. At the bar, an extra dirty Vodka martini and spicy margarita were expensive, flavorless and not well made. $30+ for two drinks. Once seated, another spicy margarita was ordered with instructions on how to make it and was still not made well and each time the glad was overflowing with ice and. It much liquid. A dozen mixed, raw oysters were ordered but we were only served nine. The other three came out about 20 minutes later. They all lacked flavor and brininess that you would expect for oysters at almost $3 each. The wood grilled oysters had good flavor but we’re way over cooked. The remoulade was incredibly salty and inconsistently flavored. Water was filled fairly regularly. The chowder fries were good. After a $200 meal for what resulted in a few drinks and “appetizers” we decided to skip dessert and left disappointed.

The food portions are very small for the cost. My wife ordered a burger. It was hamburger meat loose on the bun, not a hamburger patty and very very soggy. It was our first time there. I will give it one more try, but a little skeptical. Really how do you screw up a hamburger?????
