Love love love!!! Service was amazing as was the food. This was our Third time here and will be back for our fourth.
Inexcusable to cook with peanut oil. Stop this and you’ll gain a lot of customers.
Everything was amazing!
Thank you to Wednesday and our server. We had a short but wonderful time. The food was very good and the ambiance was really cool. Looking forward to going back!
The Valentine's Day menu was limited but good. The beef carpaccio was very good, the fried chicken had great flavor and the grits were awesome.
Menu left a lot to be desired. The review I first read about La Lucha was the banana pudding was a must. The waiter did not know what I was talking about. He had never seen it and had been there 6 months. The shrimp tacos were a disappointment, too greasy to eat. The oysters had big shells ,but a tiny oyster almost like they had been cut in half. Our friends had the fried chicken which was good , but if you both want the breast your out of luck since it is only served by the half. If they are trying to follow family style first you are going to have to serve portions that people can share which was not the case. Will not recommend nor return to La Lucha.
Our only suggestion would be a better wine selection. The malbec was no good. Turley is always good, but we were hoping to have a good, bold malbec.
Other than that, everything was great.
The food was very good and the service was impeccable. Everyone we interacted with on the staff was extremely nice.
Great place, great ambiance, attentive service and hot crispy chicken - what’s not to like!?!
Stopped in for a date night, dinner was great! Our waiter recommended all the items and we were very pleased with the Oysters and fried chicken
Thought the menu was good. We did not order the chicken which is their signature dish but the seafood dishes were excellent.
Worst service ever!
Had to get my own plates
Amazing caviar dip, great design, nice bubbles list
Excellent food. Server knew the wines and menu very well. We’ll be back.
This would have been 5 stars, but tables are so close together that you can hear every word spoken at table next to you. And you have to squeeze between tables to get to your seat (along the windows).
Food order was incorrect several times but overall the food was good.
Such a cool spot. Looks like a living room inside. So welcoming. Outdoor patio is great. Food was awesome (menu is a little confusing as appetizers are all just kind of mixed in with mains). Service was great. Only complaint was that it was SO LOUD (a terrible feature of most Heights restaurants, sadly)
Excellent! Consistently great time after time. Good Food, Good Drinks, Good Times
We loved everything about La Lucha. The food is exceptional! I only wish they had more gluten free options.
Food was delicious. I love the decor! Service was attentive.
Service by George was terrible! Grilled oysters were great ! That was it, the rest was not good! Will not go back!
Perfect spot for after work drinks and a snack or dinner. Love the decor and vibe. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Delicious food and drinks. Adding La Lucha to our regular rotation.
Great food, great decor, good environment to visit with friends and enjoy drinks & dinner.
Really enjoyed the new take on some old faves! Very creative and delicious food!!!
The shrimp and pork dumplings and collard greens were way over salted and I am ok with good flavor but they simply could not be eaten. The collard greens were brought out well in advance of the chicken and were cold by the time the chicken arrived but it did not matter because they were ladden with salt and could not have been eaten. The fried chicken was good but we were warned it would take 20 minutes but it ended up being 40 minutes and it was so hot we had to wait at least another 5 minutes. Since this is a popular item they should precook some and it would come out quicker and not be so hot The good news is they apologized for the delay even without us complaining and brought us complimentary
the chocalate bread pudding with nutella soft serve icecream which is about the best desert I have ever had.
Had a party of six with the fam (all adults), ordered fried chicken and shrimp, fish and chips, tried the dumplings and all were delicious. Perfectly sized biscuits and side sauces were yummy, adding this to our rotation!
Limited menu and very very greasy.
Excellent food and service. Can’t wait to go back
Parking lot/valet parking is a train wreck.
We arrived for 6:30p reservations, early, before things really got hopping at the restaurant.
we were seated immediately and wanted to enjoy a cocktail at our dinner table. Drink service was almost impossible. A simple vodka martini was too much for them to handle. The first one was sent back and eventually it was corrected. The second order, was also sent back and eventually corrected. No apologies were offered, no visit from the manager. The waiter kept pressing for an order. He wanted us to order dinner before our drinks had even arrived.
Food was good, but not that good. Lots of hype, lots of publicity, not ready for prime time.
Really enjoyed our first trip to La Lucha. Food was excellent and we definitely plan on returning. We were charged for “rolls courtesy of the chef”, but that was minor compared to how good the food was for this Southern gem. Definitely will recommend this place.
Love La Lucha!!
This restaurant has a fun ambiance and great food. They have an oyster happy hour in which specific types are only a $1.
Excellent food. Connor was a wonderful waiter. I would highly recommend him. Keeps the gulf seafood tradition alive with an updated feel that reflects Houston’s multiculturalism.
Basic food. Was not impressed with their fried chicken. I doubt this place will make it in the long term in a city like Houston.
Felt like the servers were rushing to clear our plates before we got to finish eating &t trying everything
First time at La Lucha and the whole experience was amazing. The food was incredible and most importantly the service was on point. We will definitely return and I can’t wait for our next visit.
Took me back to my childhood growing up in Houston. Loved the atmosphere and the food was fabulous.
Took 3 of my kids here and we all loved it. Wait staff was attentive and the food was excellent.
Best fried chicken and biscuits!!!
