Food was great. Music was a bit loud but fun!
The ambiance and service were great. My friend and I both ordered tacos ($5 Taco Tuesday!) and split an order of guacamole, rice, and sweet potato goat cheese bread. The rice and bread were delicious. The guacamole wasn't bad, though I tend to like mine more chunky than smooth. The crispy shrimp taco was by far the best of the 3 that I tried (crispy pork and crispy chicken were the others). I'd definitely go back to this place!
Unpleasantly surprised. Guacamole is the only thing I’d recommend. Drinks were watered down. I asked for carne asada tacos, instantly waiter said no. I said really you can’t ask (I would’ve paid extra)? “No”. Btw they have it in their menu online! So I ordered the fish tacos and they were not good. Steak fajitas - my husbands “go to” and he always eats them all, he left his skillet half full (enough said). Won’t go back.
really good food, portion was a little small, wishing front door construction wasn't taking place during lunch hour, our waitress was great.
La Loteria has delicious food, nicely made cocktails. The staff is friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place for anyone that likes Mexican food. We ate all vegetarian this time and I did not miss the meat at all. Everything is super tasty.
Went to brunch with my good friend here and was very happily surprised.
The food was lovely, service very warm and knowledgeable about allergies and how to amend items. They were able to create a not overly sweet aqua fresca which I was very happy with.
The noise level was nice and decor is very clean and fits perfect.
I would recommend and will absolutely dine here again.
Great place very close to Cherry Lane Theater. Loved the guacamole, creative Mexican cuisine. Excellent server who was very respectful of our need to make it to the theater in time. We will be back.
Service was excellent. Food may be a bit overpriced.
The food was way too overpriced and the menu was small and not diverse enough. Food was ok. And the service was inconsistent. We basically got rushed out of the place as soon as we ordered dessert; even though they had open tables and no people waiting.
We chose this restaurant based on open table reviews and we couldn't have been happier. We don't live in the village but we would make a special trip just to go back to this restaurant and I assure you that whenever we're down there visiting friends, we're going to La Loteria. The food was full of flavor and was so delicious we wanted to do the whole thing all over again. Only complaint would be that they charge for salsa- but get it anyway - there are 3 different types and they're all fantastic! Service was excellent and staff couldn't be friendlier. A great experience all around!
The food was very overpriced and not very good. I was actually irritated that I spent that much on a taco that didn't even taste good. If it was good, that would be fine with me! It was just clear they wanted to overcharge. (also a disappointment the website said they had taco Tuesday, but no mention of this at the restaurant) The ambiance of the restaurant is great, so the only time I could see going back was to get a drink and the salsa trio (the only impressive thing we had) Would not recommend.
Chicken and fish tacos were so good. Steak tacos eh. Less flavorful than the other two. Jalapeno Margarita was one of the best ones I’ve had. Place gets very loud which was fine for my friend and I but definitely not a place for quiet conversation. Can’t wait to go back to try other things.
La Loteria never, ever disappoints. Great food, great drinks, friendly service.
The salad was amazing & the drinks were quite good too. The meat in the chicken taco was a little tough, but tasty! We went around 5 on a Friday, didn't need a reservation, it was pretty quiet and chill at that time.
Just landed in the city and wanted tacos and this was the spot with the best reviews near us and I can under why, the service was great and the food was delicious. Prices were high for just two tacos that didn’t even come with sides but other than that, great overall
This restaurant has been my go-to for Happy Hour with a friend for over a year -- great margaritas, guac, & tacos. This evening was the first time we went there for dinner and it absolutely did not disappoint. It was quieter than usual, being Sunday night, I guess (or maybe because of the high holiday). This was a special occasion, but I'm sure we'll go back again for more than drinks and snacks. Although the drinks and snacks are exceptional. Delicious Mexican haute cuisine. Highly recommend!
Pretentious and over priced
I expected more from chef Julieta Ballesteros, I`ve been deliciously surprised before not this time, however, I`ll still follow chef Ballesteros.
This place is amazing!! Exceptional food. One of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to. Highly recommended. Drinks are great too.
Creative take on the traditional taco, enchilada, quesadilla Mexican standards. Service was fast and friendly. Great happy hour deal!
Came here with my family for restaurant week. Great food with fresh ingredients. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Very nice decor with music thats loud, but we were still able to talk to each other at a normal volume. I would definitely come back and try some of their other menu items at a later time. We all really enjoyed it!
Amazing food always! We come here whenever my family visits.
Great Mexican food; we visited for Restaurant Week, but will be back. Everything was DELICIOUS!
It was delicious. The food was fresh and flavorful. I was also very happy with the service. I am allergic to mango and my waitress checked to make sure none of my food contained mango which i really appreciated. The dessert was PHENOMENAL! Highly recommend churros - or flan- can’t go wrong !! And the ceviche and shrimp tacos are incredible - very good !!
The food was amazing! I would definitely go again
The waitress was amazing. The food was out of this world.
Absolute gem! Everything about it is perfect! Food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Very very impressive. Must try! Won’t disappoint.
La Loteria was a great brunch spot. We had an 'early' for NYC reservation so the place was empty at 12pm on Saturday, but once we got seated, the service was warm and attentive. The salsa sampler was indicative of the excellent quality of the food; a creamy, sesame-peanut option stood out as the most interesting, while the tomatillo verde was fresh and vegetal. Unlimited bloody marys for $20 for one hour was a good deal, with a house-made mix tasting of summer tomatoes, fresh horseradish and a note of jalapeno. While the chorizo breakfast burrito was a solid choice, the real stand-out dish was the chilaquiles with shredded chicken and a fried egg. The saucing and texture of this generous bowl were spot-on and it was one of the best brunch dishes we've had in a while. Great experience overall.
The menu was confusing. Hard to tell what was listed under empaadas, what was listed under tacos, etc.
Hubby and I have been here a few times. We've always received a warm welcome and the food/atmosphere are both quite good. A fun place for friends to gather or just "date" night. Highly recommend!!
Love the food it is always well prepared and very appealing to the eye.
Had a great brunch outside, service was quick and friendly, food and cocktails were delicious and made to perfection. Excellent restaurant week decision!
Great food and serv
Always excellent & friendly staff- consistent dining
The good was good. I am vegetarian and these dishes were good and well seasoned. Dessert option are good.
However, it is very noisy. It is difficult to have a conversation. The restrooms are not accessible for anyone with a mobility or visual impairment. This did not affect me but I think this is an important issue which should be addressed. Adding color at the edges of the riders would help everyone.
Wonderful food. Uri the bartender is fantastic. Loved the fish taco and the pork belly - yummy and delicious.
Food was tasty. Service very good. All in all a very good experience.
Very good, fresh food. Would come back again. Got the beer battered tacos. Yum
Very well done menu -- a great set of unique options (much more innovative than your typical "Mexican") and everything is executed perfectly with exquisite presentation and taste
Food was delicious. The bill was high! We came during happy hour but ended up staying through dinner, until 10. It was a fun dinner
