Every dish was exquisite! Had the special caprese salad to start-perfectly seasoned. Pasta, steak and fish all amazing. Server was top notch!
Great food and service.
The Branzino was good... The Caprese salad was OK. Bread was below standard... Dessert was good
La Locanda was one of the best restaurants we have dined at in the 11 years we’ve lived in Az & made this past Valentine’s Day that much more special! The food was excellent as well as the service. From the appetizers to dessert, we could not stop talking about how delicious everything was. The grilled calamari appetizer was not your run of the mill appetizer & the lemoncello broth it was served in was amazing! The presentation of the grilled branzino was beautifully done. It was perfectly seasoned & grilled just enough to have the sweet taste of the fish come through. The scallop risotto not only had perfectly cooked scallops atop the risotto but mixed throughout the risotto as well. For dessert we savored their special chocolate/cheesecake dessert that melted in your mouth with every bite! The almonds & caramel sauce that was drizzled on top was just enough, not making this sweet decadence too too sweet & was the perfect ending to an extremely enjoyable & very satisfying dinner. We have definitely found our new go to restaurant after all this time!
Valentine’s Day dinner was very nice. First time dining here. Appetizers were very good large enough to share . Both meals were good. Salmon and bronzino, both served with veggies that good. No room for desert.
The booths were a little uncomfortable and in need of an update. The bar area was huge and looked very inviting. Will go back to try happy hour soon.
The food was lovely! The pasta literally melts in your mouth!! Sunday night was a great time to try this restaurant as it was quiet and relaxing. Super!!
First time at this restaurant but wont be the last. It was very good, homemade pasta, service was great, eight people in my party and all had delicious meals!
Two of us for dinner.Pleasant greeting by the hostess. For dinner we shared a Caesar salad. Delicious. For entrees we had black linguini with seafood and pumpkin ravioli. Both were very tasty. Service was very good. Enjoyable evening.
This restaurant is in a quiet location within a more bustling neighborhood and is very unassuming. We weren’t sure what to expect! But we were treated to a lovely dinner in a very modern, sleek and comfortable dining room. Wait staff was excellent and attentive.
One of our FAVORITE places! Food is always fantastic.
Everything was delicious!
The food was authentic Northern Italian with a few twists. The lobster risotto is excellent. Great wait staff!
Not as good as original restaurant on Shea Blvd. went for veal Gorgonzola and the sauce was lacking.
We came to get another bite of the spaghetti bolognas and had some small tweeks that they suggested and got a great custom meal instead. Pasta primavera is a new favorite for the wife and i really enjoyed the veal marsala. Ordered bruschetta off menu and they were accomodating. Possibly because we were there for an very early dinner and they werent as busy. We will be back to this local favorite.
Wonderful transformation of this space.
Disappointing. Not the LaLocanda of Scottsdale in the past (at Shea and Scottsdale. NOISY! speakers right over the tables and turned up too loud, so everyone is shouting, it escalates. The back room is cold, literally! NO atmosphere and chilly. Food was pretty good but pricey considering all. The service was quite good. There are other more interesting options in Scottsdale.
great food.... Great service .... Great ambience !!!
Great food and friendly service never fail to disappoint.
This was our first visit to La Locanda...and it was a home run! We love Italian food, but it's tough to find really good, authentic places to dine in the city. I dread trying to park in Old Town, but we were pleasantly surprised by the plentiful, easy parking. The inside is tastefully and warmly decorated, exceptionally clean, and cozy. Most importantly, the food was completely AMAZING. They offer an impressive selection of great wines by the glass, including two Super Tuscans for red lovers. Lobster bisque was the soup special, and the flavor was spot-on. The beet and goat cheese salad was gorgeously presented on a long, thin plate with plentiful pieces of freshly cooked beets and a creamy, flavorful cheese. Perfect execution! I find that risotto is always a risky order; 90% of the time, it's overcooked, mushy, or gelatinous. This risotto is what I always hope for when we take the risk! The grains were cooked but maintained their individual integrity and texture...and the flavor of the dish was earthy with just the right amount of saffron and truffle to make it interesting. We tried their special dessert: the apple cobbler. Again, perfectly flavored with a large scoop of delicious vanilla ice cream on top. FYI: they have a large room for private parties of 30ish people. This was a fantastic introduction to La Locanda...we will be back regularly!!
Excellent service and great food. Would definitely recommend
