Amazing experience here tonight! Wonderful, flavorful and authentic Italian cuisine. It’s summer in Az so it was quiet but the food was on par with any of the better restaurants in town. Lobster bisque, stuffed pork chop beet salad and the gnocchi were all memorable. I’ll be back!
This is superior Italian dishes. We really like this place. We asked for and got a nice quiet table because we wanted to discuss an upcoming vacation. I wanted them to make a major modification to one of their pasta dishes and they had no problem doing that. All in all, a good place with authentic Italian food.
The bread was old, the risotto tasted old and mushy. The tomato in the caprese was like pink styrofoam.
How did they get 4 stars on open table?
The food is amazing. I ordered the seared scallops with the porcini risotto. Delicious.
Truly an outstanding restaurant - highly recommend! A hidden gem!
The food was outstanding as was the service. Kudos to the Chef! We had the osso buco, the risotto, pasta with seafood, even desert -- and everything was so good, no leftovers. Everyone left happy. The wine list was a bit overpriced, other than that I would highly recommend this place.
Food and Service excellent and consistently !
Really enjoyed our Mother’s Day brunch today. Service & food was very good. Would like to return & try dinner. We are visiting from South Carolina.
Was there for Mother’s Day brunch. Service was very slow. It took about 40 mins to get my omelette and when it arrived it was luke warm and just “ok”. Maybe their regular dinner or lunch service is better but we were very under whelmed.
I had Veal Gorgonzola and my wife had Salmon Piccata as entrees. Both were excellent. We had a Caprese salad as a first course. Although the mozzarella and dressing were excellent, the tomatoes that formed the basis for the salad were awful. The service was very good. The wine list is adequate, but could use a better selection of California and/or other domestic wines for those of us who don't follow Italian wines.
Wonderful home made pasta and sauces!! Lobster risotto was dreamlike..... pappardelle OMG ... melted in my mouth!! I love this little place. Next time in from Chicago, will be back!!
We had a group of 5 friends for dinner and were seated at round table. The staff were very attentive and the waiter made some great recommendations. Food was great with large portions. This place is a hidden gem in Old Scottsdale.
Great food and such a cool setting.
Our waiter was wonderful, great sense of humor, and the food was absolutely delicious!
We had the calamari, caprese, beet salad, lobster bisque and the black linguine. All were excellent, but the calamari was by far the best. The limoncello broth was spot on.
My husband and I had a delicious dinner date here for his birthday and Tara was our server. Every worker that we interacted with had phenomenal customer service. Tara was an amazing server and did everything perfect! I was even able to drop off the birthday cake the morning or our reservation because it was a surprise for my husband, which Tara executed perfectly. We will definitely be back!
a great place for authentic Italian food in beautiful restaurant.
Went at 10am for brunch for my birthday. Nice and quiet and very good food.
Very nice restaurant, off the beaten path in Old Town. Food was very good and the ambiance was wonderful.
Understated entry is eliminated once you sit down and sip a glass of wine and review the menu.
Excellent presentation and original Italian recipes
Excellent food and ambiance! It was our first time in but we will definitely be going back! Service was great as well.
Enjoyed a late afternoon lunch, the service was fantastic and the dessert was delicious!
this was an awesome experience and definitely will be back to enjoy this place
I went off their menu online when I booked our reservation, however when we got there we were told they could only do brunch or dinner. It was noon..... I asked for the lunch menu that was shown on their website and was told they don’t offer that on weekends.
Finally after 20 minuets of me complaining in a very nice way the manager printed a lunch menu for us, but said “this is why we aren’t going to be doing things anymore with open table.” We will not be going back there.
One of the best brunches I've had!
We ordered breakfast sandwich, vegetarian omlet and blueberry pancakes, they were excellent!
Service was wonderful and attentive!
We definitely will go back, most likely will try their dinner, they make their own pasta and desserts look fantastic!
Can't say enough positive about experience !
Attentive hospitality combined with delicious cuisine. A+ all around - well done.
A true gem in downtown Scottsdale. Their brunch is fantastic with the most amazing stuffed Brioche. Dinner is also excellent.
Amazing food. You won’t be disappointed.
We happened upon la locanda when we were in old town for an appointment and we will return. The lobster risotto and the gnocchi were both very good. Definitely worth the visit
Outstanding dinner....loved the veal gorgonzola...potatoes and spinach just right. A little far to walk from Old Town Scottsdale, but certainly worth a short taxi ride.
Our meal was amazing. Every one of us loved what we ordered. The service was great for our group of 10. We will definitely go back! Thanks for such a nice evening!
First time visit. We split the caprese salad, the mushroom risotto and the branzino. All were great and split plated in the kitchen. Wines by the glass were also great. Our server was attentive and comped our dessert (panna cotta) as first timers. Price was very reasonable for the quality. The atmosphere was busy but not noisy. This place is a real gem. The kitchen is open to the dining room which we always love. Highly recommended!
This was my first dining experience at this restaurant. The exterior of the restaurant doesn’t do the rest of the place justice. The service we received was excellent but the food was outstanding. We had one minor issue with a meal and the they were very accommodating. I would highly recommend for a quality Italian dinner.
We were so glad to find La Locanda again. The food is exceptional. The beef filet was incredible, as was the veal and salmon piccata. The room is quiet and very comfortable. We’ll be back.
Room: booths or table or bar seating; decent atmosphere. We sat in a booth. The window sill nearby was filled with little dead fruit flies, a quick wipe with a damp cloth would have taken care of that unfavorable site....it’s ALL in the DETAILS.
Service: attentive server, she was fairly new, but very knowledgeable, friendly.
Food: first time we had to ask for bread in an Italian restaurant. It was, however, dry and obviously warmed by a quick zap in the microwave....good news, I saved carb calories by skipping the bread. I had squid ink pasta w/fruitti di mare, delicious! Generous portion w/a lot of fish. My two friends were happy w/meals of cream of mushroom soup, and generous portions of pasta bolognese.
It is in a small strip center. Not real impressive from the outside. The food was fantastic. I had a veal chop. My companion had Osso Buco. They were both outstanding.
Great food and service! Definitely recommend.
In town for Spring Training and looking for a restaurant near Old Town that wasnt too crowded. Wanted to meet my niece and husband for a nice quiet meal. This was the place. Very authentic Italian food, excellent service and very relaxed dining. The staff was very attentive but not bothersome. Food came hot and well presented without a long wait in between courses.
The lobster risotto was excellent. Would reccommend again.
Food was outstanding. Service was wonderful. They even squeezed our big party in early when we showed up before our reservation time. Had a great evening here.
