Amazing Italian food!!!! My whole family who came in town and love authentic Italian food was thrilled about this restaurant. We got the sausage and garlic bread as an appetizer. SO YUMMY!!! Cajun chicken fettuccini and squid ink fettuccine with the sea food was absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked so well, was light but still filling. We loved our server too, I believe his name was Barbillo. The cheesecake and carrot cake was perfect. All around fantastic. Will be back.
This place feels like a local neighborhood restaurant. The food was incredible. All 4 of us loved the wine selection and all of our food. Try this place if you love Italian Food. You will be happy you did!
Eduardo was incredible..
Food, wine, dessert
.. everything was a 10
Fantastic dinner, excellent host and server. A must do for Italian foodies.
Great food! Jazz was a plus and very enjoyable! Staff was awesome! Love it and would definitely go back!
First time in Scottsdale and just happened on this restaurant - can’t wait to go back!!
Our dining experience was amazing! Fabulous food and great service…
Our server, Angel, was very good. The food was fantastic. Cocktails are incredible, but VERY expensive (the bartender made a special whiskey cocktail for us- amazing, but $$$$$). If you’re looking for an amazing Italian meal - a little hidden gem- this is it!!
Great service and good food (nearly perfect save for uncooked risotto)
For appetizers we had calamari, beet salad and mussels. The mussels were tasty and the sauce had a little spice. The calamari, grilled, was just OK and the portion was anemic! The beet salad had better presentation than flavor. It looked fresh, but was just OK. For my dinner I had Osso Buco over Risotto. You could barely see the risotto when they put the meat on top which sounds like you had a large piece of meat, but really it was just about 1/2 cup. The Chicken my wife had was good, just again, small. For an Italian Restaurant I found the $80.00 PP total a little steep. I would recommend Tomasso's at this price point because you get better food and a better atmosphere.
Used to frequent the old location , glad to find it again
Sergio is wonderful. Food is always amazing. Ambiance is perfect. One of my favorite places.
Had an amazing anniversary dinner at La Locanda. It was so refreshing being able to go to a nice restaurant in old town without a ridiculous wait or having to make reservations a week in advance. From the moment we walked in the staff made us feel welcomed. Our server gave us wonderful recommendations and the food was fantastic. Ambiance is nice enough for special occasion but approachable enough for casual date night. 10/10 we will be coming back soon!
Eduardo i think was his name and he was outstanding!
Eduardo was AWESOME! Consummate professional. His suggestions were spot on! The food was terrific. We will be back for sure!
Very noisy. Other than that, very good.
Our waiter was fantastic! Knew the menu by heart! Great service, company and evening! Will definitely be back.
We chose this restaurant last minute and it did not disappoint! The service and food was amazing. Eduardo, our server, gave us some of the best service we ever had. He treated us so very well and made our visit spectacular. We will be back to see him. You don’t get this type of experience often these days. Go take advantage of this place. Felt like we were family. We highly recommend visiting this place anytime you’re an old town. Don’t forget about the burrata because it’s delicious! Bone Off The Tee!!
Eduardo gave excellent service and great food recommendations. Jackie Lopez was singing day of our visit and was amazing!! Our meal was delicious!! Will definitely be back when we visit Scottsdale again.
La Locanda is simply outstanding in service, food, and ambiance.
Love, love this place and Eduardo, our waiter, was awesome. We have missed this restaurant since COVID and are so happy to be back. The food is always delicious and we will be back again soon.
Delicious and 1 of the very few restaurant that has grilled calamari.
Quick service and tasty food with visually appealing plating.
If you want great food, great service, and a way to enjoy some time off of the hustle and bustle of the Old Town Scottsdale scene, this is your place. Food is amazing, service is amazing and great atmosphere. We had a party of 8 for a Father's Day dinner and everyone was happy and full and had a great time.
We will be back again....and again....and again.....
I had the salmon last and it was just ok. Today my stomach is very ill. My husband isn’t feeling great either. Will not return.
Dinner was delicious, I had the special of the night , veal chop with Gorgonzola sauce, so good😋😋😋and the service…. super attentive, from the host to the wait staff, friendly and welcoming!! Thank you, we will be back.?
New to Scottsdale. There are so many restaurants to try out. Finally made it to La Locanda. Easy parking right in from. Seated promptly. Waiter, Eduardo, was great. My wife had the caprese salad and I had the burrata salad. Both great. I had a cajun chicken pasta dish. Nice. My wife had the Osso buco which she said was the best she ever had as evidenced by the very clean plate. We shared the "Impossible cake" which is chocolate cake on the bottom and cheese cake on top with caramel sauce. We did't have any leftovers to take home. First of many trips.
We loved La Locanda, it was a lovely restraunt. The food was amazing and not overpriced. My son had the gnocchi and it was perfect; and the sauce it came in was to die for! My husband had the carbonara which was super yummy especially with the brussel sprouts. I had The Bolognese which had a super fresh and yummy sauce! The tiramisu was our favorite if the desserts and the live music was super good! We had a lovely time and would recommend it to anyone!
First and second courses, all seafood choices except for carpaccio, were well prepared and delicious. Ordered tiramisu for dessert but returned because cream was soured. To their credit the dessert was removed from the bill. Otherwise, very good.
We went for dinner with a group of seven. In the beginning, our waitress, Laura, told us she wanted to start with one person & work her way around the “numbered” seats to keep our orders on track. She was decently friendly at this point, and very knowledgeable, but had a little bit of an attitude. We had to ask for straws 3 separate times from 3 different servers that came by (including ours) before we got them. The food was DELICIOUS & so were the drinks. We even got a complimentary dessert because we were celebrating a friend for the evening. It was a nice touch. When it came time to pay, we wanted to put two people on the same check and split the rest. When Laura heard that request she rolled her eyes and walked away. 5 of the 6 tickets were correct & paid for, and she COULD NOT get it together to complete the 6th one with the two people on one check. We literally waited 30 minutes, watched 4 different people trying to help her (including 2 managers), & finally ended up writing down on a napkin what should be on the ticket. She then came back and claimed one of the previous girls ticket books was empty & she “didn’t pay”, yet the girl had placed $100 in it & we went back & forth & they even said they were going to watch the cameras to prove it… she then found the money in her apron.
Once we finally settled the bill, no one came by to apologize, and after Laura dropped off the bill, she said nothing else. There is zero professionalism from the few people we interacted with, and even though the food was excellent, we will not go back, & I do not recommend large parties attending. If it is that big of a deal to split the check, then the server needs to ask at the beginning how it will be handled.
Overall the experience went well. The dining room did get loud as they got busier but not more so than any other quaint/cozy restaurant.
Service was fine. Not great and not bad. Server did seem annoyed to be serving children, which is always a struggle with restaurants that don’t cater to kids. We recognize that as a family of 4, and our kids order full meals or we share. The thing that bothers me about nice(r) restaurants that get a 4 top with kids is why don’t you just treat us like a glorified 2 top? We still order wine, and we still order apps and dessert. He did make up for it by bringing us extra plates without being asked. That was nice.
The food was above average. You always worry about Italian restaurants, but the noodles were made in house and al dente. The red sauce had a good tomato base and decent Italian seasoning. The gnocchi was tender, and delicious. We enjoyed ourselves and had a nice dinner for four at about $200. Not bad for good family dinner out.
Eduardo and the entire staff at La Locanda were superb. If you are visiting Scottsdale or anywhere in the Phoenix area, do yourself a favor and book a reservation here. From the grilled calamari to the bolognese and finishing it with panna cotta, everything we tried on the menu was delicious. The staff made us feel like we were part of the family and now we have a "go-to" when we are back in town to visit. I am getting hungry just thinking about the entire meal! Thank you for the great food and service. We are looking forward to our next meal at La Locanda!
Absolute perfect place for a date night! Delicious food, intimate environment, and fantastic staff. Will definitely be back!
Great Food and Service
We had such a wonderful dinner. Food and service was the best! Laura was our server and she made our experience the best it could be. Cannot wait to go back
The food was exceptional and service was great! Everything we tasted was delicious.
Our first time here and Wow! We were very pleasantly surprised at the high level of dining! The food was absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked osso buco, tuna, gnocchi and pappardelle with mussels. Everyone raved about their meal. The appetizers were delicious also. I loved the crispy eggplant and burrata. My husband’s beet salad was not only delicious, but beautifully plated. Our server was very very nice, accommodating, and knew the dishes well. The homemade “impossible cake” was the perfect ending. Very happy with excellent service! All in all a wonderful dinner. We plan on visiting again soon!!!
The food was alright. My order was okay. Drinks were okay as well. Waiter was super forgetful and drinks kept taking forever to come to the table. Lots of noise and crying babies everywhere... would not revisit.
Amazing food and excellent service. We had their homemade pasta and filet mignon which was cooked to perfection! It was a bit loud but everyone was just so happy to be dining out and having a good time! We highly recommend your restaurant.
We were placed in the back room where the air-conditioning was minimal and the noise level from other customers was exceedingly loud. There was only one server for the whole room but other servers and management helped out. The food was outstanding!
Noise level was way too loud. Large group of people were almost yelling at each other. Complained to manager, but he didn't care or make any attempt to rectify the situation. Won't be going back...
