This is a restaurant where everyone is treated like family. Our menu is simple and direct, offering fresh original recipes from the North regions of Italy. Pasta is freshly made in house topped with mouthwatering recipes. The wine and cocktail lists offers a range for every palate and budget. Hearty, flavorful entree includes meats and seafood selections. Salad are comprised of fresh organic local ingredients. We pride our self of a prompt, friendly and relaxed service.
Stellar service, food, wine and drinks! We can’t say enough great things about this restaurant. Can’t wait to return.
So happy to see this restaurant filled on a Friday night in early October. Food delicious as always and service wonderful. Just found out that Thursday night is Jazz Band night. We will be there for sure. It may be a little hard to find, but it is one of the best Italian restaurants in town.
We enjoyed the ambiance - lovely environment, not noisy, and very appealing overall. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive and very responsive. The food was very good - fresh salad, well cooked mussels and delicious pasta, done just right. Prices were abit high, given we split our meals. I would return.
The staff and live music made this night delightful. Everyone that came by our table introduced themselves and asked if they could help us with any questions we may have regarding the menu or wine list. We had not been to Lo Locanda since it moved from Shea/Scottsdale. We thought we would trek on over to downtown Scottsdale and try it out. It was every bit as good as we remembered.
We went there for AZ Restaurant Week. We had an early reservation so we got lots of attention and it was quiet. The food was really good. The chef was not happy with the quality of the dessert I selected so they allowed me to choose any dessert on the menu, not just from the Restaurant Week selections. This made big points with me. Our waiter took great care of us. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will return.
Great service, food good, need to put cheese on table so you don’t need to ask for it and more than 1 piece of bread per person . Also hard to find.
Noise level will be an issue when this restaurant gets full; we were there on a slow evening and so had few froblems.
Food was great and we will return!
Delicious, made to order, authentic meals. Quiet environment and attentive wait staff.
Excellent food, efficient and friendly service and staff. I will definitely make this a regular dining spot.
Just off the main drag in old town Scottsdale. Very cute place with good atmosphere. Reservations recommended. Had a nice quiet table waiting for us. Waiter was pleasant and very knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. Great wine selection and like all other restaurants, a heavy mark up. Enjoyed a bottle of barbera d'asti. Caprese appetizer was nice, with fresh tomato and mozzarella cheese. Dinner was excellent. Had the black linguini frutti de mare- highly recommend . My wife had chicken piccata with fettuccine alfredo. Manager came by and checked on us which is always a nice touch. Overall, a good meal and a good night at La Locanda. Definately recommend.
It was our first time visiting, even though we live near by! We had famy in town and finally gave it a try! It was delicious! From Appetizers to Dinner, Dessert and limoncello to finish the meal off! We will definitely be back!
Great spot - wonderful food. Was very quiet on a Thur night. There was a jazz band. Quite the hidden gem think it's hurt by location but definitely worth it.
Pick La Locanda to celebrate an anniversary having never been previously and very glad I did. The food was outstanding! The carpacio, garlic bread, Bolognese, penne ala russo, and cannoli were all phenomenal. Fresh, beautiful ingredients, and wonderful presentation made for an excellent meal. Additionally our service was excellent - friendly and attentive. Overall we had an excellent dinner and I would highly recommend!
Varied, creative and tasty selection. Seafood dishes were especially good. Excellent, personable and knowledgeable service. Sauces are rich and yummy. Superior value: Two specialty entrees, appetizer and couple glasses wine for just over $70. Missed the jazz band on Thursday, heard they’re terrific.
Main room too noisy due to music (didn't realize there was a band). They sat us in back room (after request) so we could talk. Back room too warm but quiet. Fish dishes had sauces that were too lemony. Halibut was overcooked. Waiter was trying to up sell all night.
We visited Friday night on July. There were few couples. The atmosphere was calm.
Food was very very tasty. Squid ink seafood pasta (many mussels)and seafood risotto were amazing!. Panna cotta was the best in my life. Special bottle wine of the day was $120→$75!!. Very tasty.
We have had high rating Italian restaurants in Italy. This restaurant is comparable in quality to them.
Service was friendly and we are taken good advice.
We will be back definitely.
The food was EXCELLENT! VERY impressed. The owner Carlos is a great guy. I/we will be back!
Food and service was outstanding, definitely a hidden gem! Came here for a birthday and will be back!
I have been to most restaurants in Scottsdale. This is one of the very best. Our dinner was exquisite. The halibut was some of the best I’ve had. The caprese salad was delectable. Try La Locanda next time. You’ll be glad you did.
The food here was amazing and the location is convenient yet quiet. Well done all around!
Everything was great. We all enjoyed everything we ordered and the service was excellent.
We celebrated a friends bday and had 17 people. They were amazing and so accommodating! The food was amazing!
They need to improve their signage out front so they attract more business or something because the place should have been packed for how good the food is!
It was an amazing restaurant. Nice small kitchen feel and the chefs have some amazing specials. My wife and I really enjoyed it. We will definitely be coming here again!
We really didn’t know what we were getting into and the place appears to be little when you are outside- however we went on Thursday night when the Jazz Band plays- and it was delightful- the restaurant was more vintage old AZ- but with white table cloths, etc. charming. The wine was excellent and the food was out of this world ! We enjoyed visiting with the owner and the musicians. Will put this on the list the next time we are in town and want quality Italian
The sea bass was excellent, the salmon was very good, the service is always excellent with very helpful knowledgeable Waiters.
Food was tasty but overly salted. We went for AZ restaurant week, but felt a strong push for an 'up sell.'. Our waiter had challenges remembering what he'd told us and vice versa. Disappointing because we'd love to find a great Italian restaurant in our neighborhood
I'm sure others in Scottsdale know about this hidden treasure, but we didn't. We drove past the unassuming entrance twice. From the time we were seated until we departed our experience was fabulous. The food, drink, service and atmosphere exceeded all of our expectations. We would unconditionally recommend La Locanda!
Our server was amazing and the vegan food from the special vegan menu was absolutely amazing!!! Will recommended and will be going back very soon!
My first visit of many to come. Mushroom soup was amazing, as was the Chicken parm.
Service was right on, comfortable and not too pushy. I hope all visits to come will be just as nice.
Spaghetti bolognese is to die for. Great food and they are trying hard to do s good job. Wow
The food was amazing!
Great service and really good food. We’ll definitely come here again.
Always WONDERFUL! Best Italian in the Valley. There was a nice old school band we enjoyed. Pasta bolognese can't be beat.
Great reception from staff, helpful w/ menu, including substitutions, wine list.
Yummy fresh pasta, perfectly cooked veal
We went on a Monday night for a birthday dinner. We were the only table in the restaurant!
The waiter , Jorge was very attentive and let us visit without rushing us to order or leave.
The menu was appetizing to look at, with many choices but the prices were very high for the choices.
There were two orders of Rissotto with Scallops (3) for $28. The branzino was $30 because the waiter insisted she try the Limencello sauce...it was too bitter. My ink squid linquine with seafood consisted of 3 large mussels, some smaller mussels, cut up scallops, two shrimp and supposedly some lobster and fish. The seafood didn't seem to be fresh.
I used to go to their old place in north Scottsdale and loved it, but this place fell short of what I was expecting.
Great menu; preparation & service.
First time and we will make Lalocando a standard in the future.
Osso Bucco was simply outstanding. Caprese salad was also outstanding. Really looking forward to next dining experience although I’m sure Osso Bucco will be on my desired dish wish list for a long time.
We dined early since next day was Easter but by 7 the place was filling up quite nicely. Reservation is a must. Lots of families with kids were most welcomed. Chef is willing to make changes upon request.
Authentic Italian fare that appealed to the eight diners in our party. Mood of the waiter changed when our interest in the over priced wine turned back to ordering beer. Lesson to our American friends:- there is no way you are going to get tourists from the UK to pay over the top for ordinary wines and then slap a 20% service charge on the ticket. This restaurant is missing the opportunity for a full dining experience by not offering breads, olives, sun dried tom's etc as an hors d'oeurve and for a bill totalling over $500 not to offer a gratis digestivo is unforgivable. Overall a very enjoyable culinary experience but less impressive on the service front.
