This is a restaurant where everyone is treated like family. Our menu is simple and direct, offering fresh original recipes from the North regions of Italy. Pasta is freshly made in house topped with mouthwatering recipes. The wine and cocktail lists offers a range for every palate and budget. Hearty, flavorful entree includes meats and seafood selections. Salad are comprised of fresh organic local ingredients. We pride our self of a prompt, friendly and relaxed service.
I did recommend it to a friend as a gift.
The food and service were outstanding. I had the special that night which was risotto with shrimp, scallops and crab meat and my husband had the Oso Bucco with risotto. Both were excellent. We were also pleased with the wine list....a lot of great choices for all budgets!
We had a 7:15 reservation on a Monday, We had a very good meal. My husband had pasta puttanesca w/ a salad I had Chicken parm. W/ a tomato bisque soup. Service was good and the wine Recommendation was good too.
Outstanding Oso Bucco
The food is exceptional! Carlos, The Chef and the staff - this time it was Jorge are always so accommodating. We love the ambiance of the restaurant. One of our favorite local places to go.
This restaurant is a hidden gem off the beaten path in Scottsdale. Wonderful service, delicious food and such a nice ambiance. Halibut was fresh and cooked to perfection. Pappardelle pasta with bolognese sauce and the garlic bread were absolutely delicious. We were delighted and will come back again.
Food was amazing. Great date atmosphere with low lighting and the ability to hear to talk. Not a party place but still close to the downtown area.
Delicious food, great menu items! Highly recommended!!!
Great food , off the charts!!! Very Italian choices with homemade pasta. Still building a following yet go there now! Lets help build this place
A hidden gem! Some of the best Italian food in the area
We love their food, wine menu and service! Our go to place.
The service by our waiter was superb. However, we had a large group. Even though we made reservations in advance, the kitchen could not handle the orders. One table of 10 got and ate their dinner before the other table of 12 was even served. That was disappointing. They did keep us happy with wine and apps. But we had arrived at 6:15 and everyone was not finished until close to 10:00p due to the one table that was delayed in reviving dinner.
Food was superb! Drinks were wonderful. I would definitely go back with 2-4 people. But I would avoid taking large group.
The old location was one of my favorites and the reopened Old Town Scottsdale did not disappoint. Food and service were both 100% on point. My wife and I will return whenever we are in the area.
We've been to this restaurant twice, and will be going back again! Everything we've ordered has been delicious, and the service is spot-on!
Not so expensive. Traditional Italian restaurant. Nice food, wine and stuff.
Discovered restaurant while walking through Old Town Scottsdale. Quiet and nicely appointed restaurant with great service and very good food selection.
Basic fare and food was decent. But for the $$ there are other alternatives that provide better food for the $$.
I have been there several times, but I was very disappointed with the Valentine's dinner. I was not told that it was a set menu. Of the choices, none of them were for vegetarians. The waiter asked if we wanted garlic bread without telling us it was at an additional cost. The service was poor and the meal over priced. I probably will not go back.
First time at La Locanda. We were there for the Valentine Day price fix menu. The exterior is not indicative of what is instore for the diner inside. The osso buco was one of the best I have ever had. It was also larger than average and on a bed of risotto. The risotto could have had a more creamy texture but an excellent entre. The black linguini fruta d'mar was also excellent and plentiful. It included muscles, scallops and crab. The cheese cake and chocolate cake were equally delicious. One word of caution, there is no wine by the glass list or menu. You have to rely on the waiter and you will not know the cost of each glass unless you ask.
Our first time to the new location. This visit didn’t measure up to the old. Desert was quite good, but other menu items were not great: halibut was overlooked (twice), lobster bisque had no lobster and was a very small portion, the filet was ok but not better than average, no bread was served even when requested (there was a bread plate but no bread), and I think our server was quite inexperienced. This was a real disappointing dining experience, we really liked the old place. Don’t think we will be returning.
This has quickly become our favorite restaurant in the Scottsdale area! Everyone in our group loves it. We will ALWAYS find time to go to La Locanda when ever we are lucky enough to be in Scottsdale.
Great food and best desserts I’ve ever had. Limoncello is expensive at $9 a shot. In Italy they basically offer it for free when you have a full night.
Squid ink pasta was amazing. Bolognese was also delicious and great value at $18.00 but pasta was a bit overcooked.
Ill be back
The unattractive location and bland outside facade mask a little Italian gem. All dishes offered great, balanced taste, and were served efficiently. The tiramisu and short cappuccino were nice experience toppers.
Awesome food! Very pleased. The place is a bit noisy but very satisfied with everything else!
Great food! Great wine list. Always a fantastic meal.
A delightful surprise - our appetizers, pasta dishes salads were wonderful. We’ll be back!
We brought out-of-town guests to this restaurant for two reasons- their back room is usually quiet enough to hear each other talk and this is some of the most authentic Italian food in the valley.
I try to get a different dish each time and this time the linguine carbonara was pure poetry. One guest who had their very authentic Caesar salad asked for anchovies. The response was - white or brown?
Everyone loved this place.
I was not completely satisfied with my entree, and the management went above and beyond to compensate and make sure we were satisfied.
This is one fabulous restaurant! The food is outstanding and they are in no rush to turn your table ....
Gotta love this restaurant!
The service was excellent, but the food was only okay.
Wonderful food and service, we loved it. It's a small restaurant on the west side of Goldwater. We had a great xperience, we highly recommend it.
This is the most authentic Italian restaurant in Phoenix that we have found. We are always looking for "THE ITALIAN RESTAURANT" and this is the closest we have come to the meals experienced in Italy.
Their Caesar salad is the only one in Phoenix that is prepared the way Caesar said it should be (per Julia Child).
Their seared scallops risotto carbonara was wonderful. An A+ dish.
The cheesecake was the closest thing to NY that I have found in the valley.
If more people knew what real Italian food was, this restaurant would be more crowded.
This is definitely a great date spot. The food was really good and the service was great!! I will be back in the future.
We ate in “Italian style” and tried 9 items in total.
Seriously, everything was fabulous! This place is a hidden gem for foodies - great wine selection, as well!
La Laconda is a hidden gem for fine, Italian dining in Scottsdale. Outstanding food in a cozy little off the beaten path building.
The service was not great. The server seemed disinterested in our table when only one of us ordered a drink. After which he did not offer us pepper for the table or Parmesan on our pasta dishes. Literally checked on us once after we ordered. After asking how the dishes were served, family style or just enough for one person, we were rudely told it was "a la carte". Not much in the terms of guiding us through our first experience at the location. You never know what Italian food will be like, huge portions or normal sized. The food was disappointing for the price. I would save your money and time and splurge on some of the better restaurants around Old Town.
We were there for NYE at a very busy time. The service and food were impeccable throughout. They did such a nice job of making us feel so special at this busy time. The food quality was top notch.
Had a reservation for 7pm and was seated at 7:15pm. Food was good but not the best meal I’ve ever had. Cheesecake was one of the best as were the cappuccinos. Drinks were solid but a bit pricey. Food took a while to get to us but that was probably because it’s NYE. Overall, we will try again on a non-holiday.
We stumbled across La Locanda on Open table. Having made last minute Reservations on NYE, my choices were limited. I read the reviews and took a chance on what I consider a hidden gem in Scottsdale. Do not be discouraged from the exterior of the building, as it is not your typical architectural swanky modern spot in Scottsdale. We were pleased to find inside it was modern, and beautifully appointed. We rate our overall experience a five star based on the supberb service, accompanied with hand crafted coctails, finalized by our dishes which were cooked to perfection. La Locanda will not disappoint!!
