La Locanda Ratings and Reviews
We chose this restaurant as it offered vegan options - we are a mixed crowd of meat eaters and vegans. As it turned out the vegan options was the vegetarian pasta courses made with glutenfree pasta. Fair enough - but not good enough to emphazise the wish for vegan food and to be offered mushroom truffle gluten free pasta only to receive a dish swimming in butter. The dish was replaced when we complained, but the vegan had to eat alone as it took 30 minutes to make a new one with olive oil.
We were a group of 6 & we were we’ll accommodated:. Service was very good. Our waitress Vanessa was friendly & helpful with our choices. Food was very good from the focaccia in the beginning to the seafood risotto, porcini risotto, tagliatelle with porcini. For dessert we had italian cheesecake which was excellent. Will definitely go back.
We were looking for places to eat in Miami Beach, as our daughter just over there. This place was highly rated by several sources, and did not disappoint in any way. Terrific pastas, authentic pizza, great appetizers, and a very good wine selection. The staff was also a standout, for their warmth, sense of humor, and helpfulness. We even got a few Italian lessons. All in all a great evening. We will definitely be back.
Great food we sometimes drive 2 hours just for dinner here. Best Italian you will find. Owner is almost always there great staff. Fantastic lasagne. Very reasonable pricing for the area. I recommend it to all y friends. DEFINITELY worth a stop or the drive to find it
College roommate & her 2 friends in Miami enroute to Cuba - I've enjoyed la Locanda's authentic Italian Menu in the past and it was a hit once again.. I didn't care much for the wine recommended by helpful proprietor but didn't realize that til after it was poured for all. My error! Everything else was perfect- especially the pear-purses and fennel salad.outside ambiance noisy- close to street.-:
While our server was very helpful, the food quality was poor. My shrimp were over cooked and didn't seem to have the lemon butter sauce that was listed on the menu. The steak entree my son ordered was over cooked and tough. Looks like the pizza is the best bet at this place. I was disappointed with the meal especially In light of the reviews on line.
I've been there many, many times. To me, honestly, the best pizza you can get in Miami (keep in mind I'm Italian...). Also the restaurant's menu is excellent, indeed.
The staff is always super kind, smiling and polite, and so is the owner, always welcoming and taking good care of you.
We enjoy take out here but last week, I took a friend to dinner at the restaurant I had a bad experience. I had the special of the day pizza...all of the pizzas on the menu are about $12-14...I chose the special of the day pizza, which was not price listed on the menu and they didn't say the price..( which they should have) I was out with a friend and didn't want to ask for the price ( embarrassing to ask a pizza price)and when I received the bill they charged me $39 for the pizza...a pure rip off.
