Had a delicious dinner and fantastic drinks! Can’t wait to go again!
Excellent Mexican food!! I am quite versed in the Mexican options this city has to offer and let me just say how impressed I am with the food, staff, and overall experience.
The food was flavorful, great portions, and inventive while still being traditional.
The waitstaff was friendly, attentive and helpful.
The drinks were strong and well balanced.
The restaurant was lively but not crowded and loud but not too noisy that you couldn't hold a conversation.
10/10 would recommend. We will absolutely be back.
Food was amazing. Surprised to find such amazing Mexican in Philly. The lamb was incredible. And definitely get the queso fundido.
The quesadilla was INSANELY GOOD
The food was superb. The butternut squash soup, the bronzino with bell peppers and almonds plus the chicken wings were excellent. This is a neighborhood restaurant with very little ambiance, good Mexican food and a hard working staff. Located on West Passyunk Avenue right across from the Melrose Diner parking can be a problem.
Service was attentive & friendly - food came out quick and was delicious! Pacifico on tap just tastes better!
Always love this place… they have the best drinks and their birria tacos are amazing!
Great neighborhood place. Delicious food and cocktails with attentive but not intrusive service.
We thought the food was delicious but we weren't pleased with the timing of how the food was served. Everything came out at once. We would have liked our appetizer to come out before our entrees. We also thought the music was too loud.
The service was excellent and all of us had different tacos which were delicious. The margaritas were also very good and not overly sweet.
Great ambience, great service & food!
So glad to have discovered La Llorona Cantina, which got me to walk further south than I have in some time! Made a reservation on OpenTable for outdoor dining and was pleased to find the sidewalk seating was ample on a wider-than-usual sidewalk along Passayunk Avenue. Our server, Jose, was a pleasure: just the right amount of attentiveness.
Our group started with Guacamole (avocado, tomato, fresh lime, serrano chile, onion, cilantro), which was served in a mortar and surrounded by tortilla chips, and the Queso Fundido (melted Oaxaca cheese, warm tortillas, poblano peppers*), both of which were fantastic, and some delicious drinks: margaritas and a spicy michelada.
We continued with Ceviche (tuna and shrimp marinated in lime juice, mango, avocado, serrano, fresh lime) and a bunch of tacos: Ensenada Sur (tempura fried shrimp, pico de gallo, lettuce, jalapeño crema), Al Pastor (five chiles marinated pork, grilled pineapple, onion, cilantro), Cochinita (slow roasted pork, achiote, citrus, habanero, escabeche), and Birria Doña Flores (braised beef roasted in a three chili adobe sauce, served with a small bowl of consome). Everything was delicious: my favorite tacos were the Birria (mostly because of the consome!) and the Al Pastor (love me some pineapple'n'pork!).
We finished off the meal sharing an order of tres leches cake and churros, the latter served hot'n'crisp. Will definitely return!
*Choice of chorizo or poblano peppers.
Food and drink were great last night. Our server was friendly and didn’t rush us. Highly recommend the tempura shrimp tacos, the invacion cocktail and the Adam and Eve.
Food was good and the drinks were amazing. Would definitely go back
Great place for date night or just to grab drinks and a quite bite. The food came out lightning fast and the staff was more than accommodating. Great place.
Great vegan options! We had the nicest wait staff ever.
Amazing food and service!
Great outdoor seating and fantastic food. The Arroz con Dos was flavorful and delicious and the service was on point.
Indoor and outdoor seating. Delicious!
Great service and food outside with Jose!
Disappointing brunch. Was excited after the rave reviews in the media. Drinks tasted watered down. French toast was exceptional and everything else was just meh. Service was friendly and accommodating.
Delicious food, great service and so many specialty cocktails to choose from!
Great food, great service! Would recommend for a nice brunch.
Delicious food -- we tried several of the Oaxacan specialties. Drinks Delicious too, although a tad $$. Very nice staff. We'll be back..
Great food, lots of regional dishes not typically available at other Mexican restaurants. Great food value, great service. Large drink menu, again with harder to find regional mezcal options. A little loud outside since it’s on the main thoroughfare of Passyunk Ave, but a great atmosphere otherwise. Definitely coming back.
Wonderful service and it felt like being transported to Mexico…amazing Mexican liquor collection.
The dishes had great presentation and fresh ingredients. Totally enjoyed our meal.
We have been here multiple times and have never been disappointed. I keep returning for the food, drinks and the service. The owners, managers and servers are so friendly and polite.
Bridget our server was lovely. Food was delicious. Staff is very attentive and always bussing. Tres leches was heavenly.
Great time catching up with friends in a nice outdoor shady spot! The food, bottomless mimosas, and service was all wonderful. Would absolutely recommend!
