This place has pretty good food. The roles are delicious and the soup was really good. Along with the flavored lemonade. But for the entree's I honestly thought that they were WAY overpriced. The food was fine, but it wasn't what I was hoping for after paying so much.
We have eaten several times, this was the worst experience. We usually love this restaurant. The food was disappointing. Small portions for the price. The kale salad was so bitter and drenched in dressing, I couldn’t finish it. Our waitress checked on our table only once, no drink refills. It will be awhile before we eat here again. Who knows though, maybe it was just not a good night, it happens.
Spent a small fortunate and left hungry. The portion sizes were way too small.
Awesome service! Bread was a bit dry though
We went right after our wedding reception and it was the perfect setting. The staff was beyond accommodating and the food was delicious.
We went here for our anniversary and it was lovely. I highly recommend the butternut squash soup.
We waited 20 minutes after we were seated to see a waiter. The food wasn’t very good. They have fresh pasta but it was tough and chewy. It was very expensive for something I had to take home and finish cooking in order to be able to eat it. That coupled with the terrible service means we will never go back. It’s a shame because it’s a pretty venue.
We’ve been here many times and will continue to come back. It’s a perfect date spot, especially with few similar options in Utah Valley. The food is good, healthy, and a decent value.
Had two main course entrees and two soups. Mine was not to my taste so that is a non issue . My wife order the sea bass, fish was good. Issues came with when we ordered the fish I asked could it be deboned in the kitchen. No not really was the comment or something to that effect.
When it came it was on a plate with two different sauces on the bottom, the whole fish was on top of the sauce with potatoes (were good) on one end and a pile of greens on top of the fish.
I asked for separate plate for the bones and a sharp knife. Buy time the fish was deboned I had made a nice mess on the table because of the amount of sauce that went over the edge.
The fish should have come out on it's own wram plate with the proper deboning knife and padal. This way you can debone and put it on the plate with the other items.
I found the restaurant to be totally pretentious. I ordered a meal consisting of an appetizer, a salad, a soup, and an entree. The portions were tiny. The one bread roll per person was delicious but small enough to be covered by a 50 cent piece. The salad was regular. The soup came out in a half cup sized bowl. The 5 onion French onion soup had a whole tablespoon of onions. It was delicious, but laughable.
The entrée was served with you guessed it, 5 string beans and 3 small red potatoes. There were a few carrot peelings as well. The mango sauce was excellent, but couldn't mask the refrigerator taste of the poorly cooked sirloin medallions. I'm not sure who the idiot was that designed this menu, but I would never return to this business. It took 45 minutes between the salad and getting the entrée served. I travel extensively for work. I have eaten at restaurants all across America. This was a lousy dining experience. Poor quality! The manager took part of the price off the meal trying to apologize for the poor service. We refused the free desert he offered, not wanting to be again disappointed. I ran a catering business for 14 years. I would have been embarrassed to serve a meal like that and then charge the customer money. Serious management problems! You need to re-think the entire business model. If the food was totally amazing, then maybe some of the pretentiousness would fly. As it was, I will be talking about this as the worst dining experience I have ever had. After leaving, my date asked if I wanted to go to McDonald's and get something to eat...
Meal took several hours to come out and one of our guest was left without for 20 minutes longer then the rest of the table. First course soup for two guest was overly salty and needed to be switched out for another type of soup. The tortellini meal I had was okay, but really tasted like package pasta & chicken with a homemade sauce. Overall quality was very poor for the price and a disappointing experience.
I've always found the food to be delicious and the atmosphere to be comfortable. Wait staff is pleasant and helpful. I greatly enjoy La Jolla Groves.
Portions are small, but adequate. The service was a little slow. The food was okay, but given the price, it did not really measure up. The wedge salad was a major disappointment. Dessert was in a particularly small portion.
I have always enjoyed La Jolla Groves I Provo. It is conveniently located at Riverwoods and I really enjoy the ambience of the restaurant. I have always had a great meal there though I have heard others have not. I bring my business associates as well as clients there generally once a year. They have not failed me yet.
My wife and I love this place but they have a new chef now and i was beyond disappointed and our server checked on us one time. I wont be back.
I made a reservation, otherwise I’m sure we wouldn’t have been seated promptly. We were greeted by the waiter fairly quickly, and he was friendly and polite. He returned in a short time to take out order and was knowledgeable about the menu and up to this point, very impressive. We ordered soup and a meal, and then we waited exactly 47 minutes before the waiter returned to inform us he thought we had already received our soup. About 5 minutes later he returned with the soup. Another 5 minutes passed and we stopped him to ask if table bread was available, to which he returned a few moments later with bread for several tables he seemed to have forgotten to give bread to. Our meals were quick behind the soup and bread. The beef medallions were overchared on the outside and far more rare than medium rare on the inside- but overall not bad. The vegetables were perfect however.
I really love it, it was exactly what i expected, i love the lemons
Great location and atmosphere. The staff were very flexible when I had to adjust reservation size and time. Delicious food, but just a tad too little on the plate for the amount you pay.
FOOD WAS NOT VERY GOOD. THEY WERE FOCUSED MORE ON PRESENTATION THAN TASTE AND PORTIONS.
THEY ATTEMPTED UPSCALE BUT FELL SHORT.
Service was great, and the restaurant itself was very nice.
We were blown away by the amazing atmosphere created with the lemon trees and the Christmas decor. The service was great and the food was delicious.
We totally enjoyed our visit. The food was amazing.
Beautiful restaurant, great atmosphere. Food is good too, but be prepared to spend at least $20 on each entree. Great for special occasions.
We had reservations for 10 but still waited 15-20 minutes to be seated. Waited 1 hour 15 minutes for our entrees which did not all come out together. We felt the food quality, portion size and service was far less favorable than our previous dining experiences with LaJolla.
I seriously hate to write "poor" reviews... but... first, we chose this restaurant after looking at their menu link here on TripAdvisor... made a reservation online (easy peasy)... then, arrived and the menu was NOT ANYTHING like the link. The service was slow at best... and the food HIGHLY overpriced with a less than stellar selection. I had the steak medallions... SERIOUSLY - two, yes, TWO small steak "medallions"... ridiculous! The meat had grizzle running through it (not ok - since it should have been lean and tender). The meat also had a "chemical/fuel" like aftertaste and the sauce was terrible. There were two other tables around us that had similar issues with sub-par food taste and slow service... one even warned us not to stay, but we were hungry and had been traveling, so we thought we'd give them a chance. Will NOT return... sad, because it's a great location and the atmosphere was really nice.
We waited over an hour for the food. It was close to the end of the night and only a few other tables were full. My food was cold when it finally came.
Had a first date at your restaurant and your employees where very respectful and professional. The food was very good as well as the service. We really enjoyed the romantic atmosphere and you were not very busy that night so had a chance to just sit and talk for a while. For a first date this was perfect. We realy enjoyed our evening and will be back soon and often. Thanks to all your employees keep up the great work.
Ther food, the setting, the whole feel it's just incredible!
La Jolla Groves is an excellent restaurant and never disappoints. Great for special occasions and quiet dining.
My wife liked her watermelon salad quite well, but the Romaine lettuce in my Caesar salad had several old pieces with brown spots/black edges and was not nice and cold at all. My main course entree was not piping hot and the chicken was undercooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen. We feel really bad that this restaurant falls short with their food, since it really has a nice ambience and fairly good service.
Great service, very good food, great location, great decor
Excellent food; great service. a fun experience. We had invited some friends who had done some work for us to celebrate the fine job they did. The restaurant experience was perfect. Thank you.
So nice- yummy and you leave feeling satisfied -like you had a healthy meal. Great service too. Love this place.
The new owner has kept the menu largely in-tact which was a concern. The waiter promptly let me know of any menu items that had changed and offered to let me try an item to see if I like it. I appreciate waiters that take a more professional approach to serving which LaJolla Groves does an excellent job of. The food quality and flavor combined with great service make LaJolla Groves one of my favorite restaurants in the valley.
Food was great and came pretty quickly, service was great too. Sadly it looks like business is declining as there weren't many people there, but I liked it quieter. It was nice not to have to yell to be heard.
Excellent food and service! Great selection. Wait Staff very attentive.
Butternut Squash soup was delicious almost like a bisque
Uniquely delicious food that I will go back for again.
Water glasses had floating debris in them. Waited quite a while for food and it wasn't hot when it arrived. Overall B-.
Great place for a business lunch or dinner. Excellent menu choices and good service, the private rooms are great for most group sizes. The watermelon salad was delicious, I will definitely be coming back here to dine.
