   Unfortunately, the escargot was burned and the fish, well the presentation was beautiful,was difficult to eat.

   Lovely place and service was good. However not the best steak I have had in USA but I guess that I have been spoiled elsewhere!

   The atmosphere was great. So far, the most authentic French restaurant I've been to in Chicago!

   La Grande Boucherie replicates that great tradition of French brasseries turning out classic French cuisine that is simply enjoyable to eat. By contrast, I remember going to one of the high temples of French gastronomy in Paris (two Michelin stars) and not one person in our party actually liked anything they ordered. You'll find plenty to like if not love at LGB, from steak tartare to garlicky escargot to perfectly executed filet au poivre and steak frites. We also love the eggplant entree, which is a cross between ratatouille and eggplant parmesan. It's large enough to share with the table as a wonderful side dish. Much like what you'd find in Paris, this restaurant prizes consistency of execution, day after day, across a very wide menu. There's also a satisfying assortment of wines by the glass at reasonable prices. Some of the non-traditional cocktails seem fussy, but French standards like Sazerac (also known as a Vieux Carré) are excellent. When it's busy, service can seem a little scattered, but the floor team does a good job of keeping water glasses and bread baskets topped off.

   Really excellent service, we felt welcome from the moment we walked in. The food was mostly 5* but they really fell short on the dessert. What was supposed to be a chocolate brownie was more like a Biscotti, and the topping more like a chocolate mousse than stand up flavor. Worth mentioning: the menu has a lot of wonderful options; there are many, many ways to have a nosh at this place.

   Poorly cooked traditional French food at a high price. Every single dish was lackluster.

   Did was good, but service was SLOW. It was Mothers Day but we waited over 30 to 45 min between courses. In the end after almost 45 min waiting for dessert we just told them we wanted to pay and leave.

   Good food pretty good service. We should have been given plates for sharing. Wish we had been asked if we wanted ground pepper for our salad but no one came by to ask. Music definitely did not fit the atmosphere at all. Recommend the food and wine. Pretty place.
